  • aw i love the name cadillac for a horse :) but please, don't tie ropes around his legs, unless u want to break them of course...

  • Too much force, it's nothing about trust here, it's all about force.

    feel sorry about that horse...

  • that's not how u should do it. To much force.

  • That's just sick. You're disgusting me.

  • well done you can see the horse has a lot of trust in you.

  • This woman is torturing her horse. This is just ridiculous. i just point to the ground and my horse rolls around. Again, this is just ridiculous.

  • @AncientPollyanna the horse in this video does not look the least bit tortured, it is whiney anally retentive people like you that are ridiculous. you should try real life sometime I know its a challenge but it is a lot more fulfilling.

  • YAY!!!!!! I think I'm gunna try this! My horse can Lay down With a saddle, But she wont without this!! so I'ma try it!!! thank you soo much for posting this!!!!

  • Everyone who says there's no trust between you and your horse is ignorant. The number 1 reason he needs the ropes at first is because he doesn't want to do something that in any other situation is wrong. If shes riding along and he suddenly goes to lay down, it will scare her and that's something he doesn't want to do. Once he learns its okay to lay down for her, he will do it willingly. She clearly did a great job. And she did something she knew HER horse cld do. You sld have done the same.

  • really? do u NEED to tie his hoof up? No, so don't do it.

  • really? pulling on a horse with ropes to force him to do what you want? wow.

  • Fucking idiot. You guys shouldnt have horses...... I hate ppl like you.

  • @erixababy wow, i shouldnt have horses? hes well fed, he trusts me and i love him, i didnt hurt him and he learned with treats and trust in me, if you can build a different picture from that than whatever

  • GOOD JOB!!!

  • @1Cowgirl4Christ thanks, i know this video is so so old, i should post cadillac now!! hes such a dream horse, everyone goes nuts anywhere i lay him down they want me to teach their horse and they think hes so cool

  • @jadefoster11 No problem! Same here. I trained my pony to knock on the door when she wants food, ask for treats, massage me, open doors, bow, and shake a hoof! People love watching her do some tricks. :) Could you explain how to train them to lie down. I haven't had the nerve to train her to do so as I'm nervous I'm do something wrong.

  • @1Cowgirl4Christ i can be honest, my technique can be dangerous... the technique im using is actually for taming a wild colt, it is said once you lay one down they build a respect and trust for you like nothing else because laying is when a horse is most vulnerable. but basically i taught cadillac by tieing the rope around his left ankle (wrap their ankle to prevent rope burn) then i put it over his back and pulled the leg tight and with the halter i pulled him down, he went down on try 2!

  • I just thing he was confused and didn't know what she was trying to ask him to do.

  • Poor horse v.v

  • The horse isnt forced to lay down people. If he doesnt wanna go down, he wont. Hence all the comment saying they couldnt do it. This horse is trusting and calm enough to go down easily.

  • putting a rope on a horses' leg like that can cause them to go lame and pulling him like that could have him fall the wrong way and do some serious damage

  • This went HORRIBLY wrong for me today.

  • says alot for american quarters horses...........very gental

  • Horse doesn't even trust you.

  • i think you should use treats as a reward so that the horse asocciates something good with the trick. so whenever you ask him to do it he doesn't refuse or get frustated. i found this out teaching my horse to bow.

  • awh yall are so cute! ha :)

  • it's awful

    not education, just violence

  • please, hear me out. You have thought your horse how to be draged down. not to really lie down. If you start by just taking the rope on (just not that high) and just stand there. say "down" and wait for a reaction. The moment he turns around to you, REWARD! then, say "down" again. if he down understand, pull the rope ONCE just a little bit. Do this (easy) and wait. if he should try something, reward! it wont take longe before he's comlpetly down, just "by himselves" since he already "knows how

  • Alright all you feakin trolls out there.Show us a better way to teach a horse to lay down. If you dont have one. Then shut up.

  • @slipknotgirl06 i do. Holde the rope (or just in you hand, what ever...) reward when the horse does it because he understands and gives it a try (leaning a little bit more down). NEVER EVER pull the rope, og the horse down. We can only imagine how difficault it is to keep our balance if sombody holdes our foot, and then literally dreagging us to the side, you don't stand a chance... like a crop, the rope should only be a lengthening hand. my horse can lie down if i touch his frontlegs.

  • @Marixxen2 Okay. Thank you for being mature about this whole thing. A lot of people talk like they know but they really have no clue. :) Could you get a video of you teaching your horse so I can see how it is done?

  • do something they want to feel like u r encouraging them. also sitting on the horse when is down like tht is bad for thr organs. stop saying down, its making him nervouse, he also need to have boots on his feet to do this. maybe u shouldnt b doing thid. u obviously need some lessons. i feel bad for tht horse

  • maybe you should try picking up the foot facing the horses head, because sooner or later he is going to become clear that when you pick up his foot, he needs to lay down. if you pick his feet(which all owners should) he will want to lie down. also maybe dont pull on his halter and his foot so hard. if he wants to lay down, he will lay down, if not then you either did something wrong or you need to just give him some time to think about what he is doing. horses dont like to feel like they MUST

  • You can't fix stupid.

  • Oh, that was really hurtful to see this video. You don't teach him to lay down, you force him. I hope you feel ashamed, this is not a good work.

  • This is you breaking down your poor horse to a stage where he has no saying anymore, this horse does not look happy to me. Shame on you for thinking your horse is a toy you can play with like that.

  • lol when he was in the bowing position, after that he just whent oomph! :P lol cute

  • Great work! Don't listen to people who haven't even tried it!

  • Easy on girly.

First learn to have a bit respect for your horse.

  • When I have the lead rode around this side of my horses body and not the other she just keeps turning....

  • That poor horse.

  • when you cant even pick up a foot easily, i would think you were missing something...felt uncomfortable watching this...too much force..not enough trust. sorry.

  • @midnightrog yeah its uncomfortable to watch this becouse the horse does not want to lay down but the girl use rope so it doesnt have any choise since she wont give up until she gets how she wants... she doesnt seem to understand that it says no or she does not care. If I had a horse I loved I wouldnt take the risk to break any of its legs since one leg broken for a horse could be deadly!

  • @midnightrog Forcing a 800+ pound animal to lay down against its would be *nearly* impossible if you were doing it this way. If the horse didnt trust her, he would not have layed down. Sure, it might not look good, and it might look like force, but as I said, you try and force a 800+ pound animal to lay down this way against his will, and you will find it impossible. He DID trust her, or he would not have layed down in the first place.

  • I tried that with my mare Gypsy and she did very well :) She only bows though we haven't gotten the lay down part. Thank you!!

  • I personally dont like your method of teaching your horse lying down.

I dont want to create any stubborn vision about how to do it, because I

dont know how to exactly, but to make a horse do it with force (by dragging

him/her down) is not a nice way to do it. I am not saying this is cruelty or whatever,

dont shout mean comments back, but I just want to tell that there are nicer ways of doing that, which does'nt include forcing the horse down by dragging it. Dragging shoulc never be neccessary.

  • Is this all u guys have to say is nasty comments?!?!?! I don't think they put this video on here to be critiszed!!!! I am very experienced with horses and know that if anything hurts them they WONT do it!!! This horse looks perfectly happy. He trusts his owner or ge wouldn't even attempt to lay down!!!

  • @shilohandoreo i totally agree with you. they all say what if he spooks an good horse man woman will know when the horses is about to spoke. its all about body language do you agree??

  • why use ropes when making a movie? somthing that can look wonderful is being spoilt by ropes and force. try to allow him to fold up both his legs to laydown naturaly. you have a wonderful horse - hes very trusting. :)

  • there are other ways to teach a horse to lay down other than this cruel way. what if he sppoks? he can injure himself badly. use natural horsemanship or something, anything but this.

  • I don't think you are upsetting him, but this isn't the safest way to teach this trick. He looks happy though so... i just don't recommend using this method to anyone else. Great video though! :D

  • it might get results, but this looks a horrible way of doing it...is there any other way of making a horse lay down?

  • I used the same tecnique to teach a bow, but with the rope on the other side of his neck + stopping at kneeling (since that was a little stressing for him the first 2-3 times) Trying this one day, giving him a month to think about it, now I just pick up his hoof and pat his withers and he bows. No treats, no stress and no force. Even without a halter he just goes down. His stress before was just 'I don't get it' stress, he always get nervous when learning new things, no matter how gentle I am.

  • Also want to add that he comes in the pasture, follows me around and loves to just get petted and scratched in the forehead, without me trying to teach any of that. :) I just need to learn to ride better, he's so sensetive that he notice all my flaws and reacts big on them :P But we're learning :)

  • @mdjidara I agree.

  • Well this video was added over a year ago but I'll give my opinion anyway. To make this easier you put the lead rope over the horses back as well as the one around his leg so his head goes away from you this unbalences him so he will go into the lay down much faster then yanking his head towards you

  • are you aware how poor this looks when horse is forced to lay? ware you aware that you are actually torturing him? and are you aware that you can hurt him very bad on this way?

  • panzy^^^^

  • I'm teaching my pony to lay, any tips? [:

  • Trust me, it's almost impossible to FORCE a horse.

  • He's gettin plenty of praise and treats, no discomfort for him. It's just getting the signals to perform, in a format he understands. He is one calm horse.

  • this is a way of makin the horse lay down. But i personally would prefer it if they would have in lay down, on his terms, not because they're not giving him a choice. He can't choose to lay down, he is forced to do so. I'm not saying this is abuse, but there are more effective and kind ways of doing this excersise.

  • how would you suggest teaching it? x x x

  • The horse didn't really seem to care. If he was upset or annoyed then he would be pacing around, trying to bite and rearing. He's fine in this video and obviously trusts his owner.

I personally don't like the style she's teaching the trick but just as long as the horse isn't upset in anyway.

  • If the horse wouldn't like this it chould have told her by kick, rear or get panic!

    Good job!

  • This is training by force by definition, and is quite riskey for both the handler and the horses carpus, it is fine to use ropes but a lot safer to position the horses head away from you. It would be very wise to master the basics first though as the horse is reluctant to pick up it's hoof

  • i tried this with my baby and she came up lame the next day, and everytime i lift up her leg and try this she rears and and likes to try to kill me,

  • okay i have a question, i wanna teach my horse to do this but i wanna have the rope around his leg like that so he doesnt crush me when he comes down

but i dont know how to tie it because i dont wanna be like squeezing him...

  • Use a cotton lead rope so that it won't rub on the horse's leg, then loop it around like a lasso and use the clip to connect it to itself, closing the loop.

  • Great Job! Im actually planning to do this on my 17.3hh standardbred.. Jee its gonna be hard work! I need to find somewhere away from people and nice and soft.. :) Or I will have so many people at the yard critisizing me

  • asking a horse to lie down is a thing you can do without force or ropes, Im surprised even parrelli students are saying this is ok because its not how it is done, yeah fine the horse doesnt look stressed but showing videos like this is only going to make every fool with a horse go out and start tying up their legs!!!

Try looking up natural horsemanship and you will see that in our world we call what you are doing do your horse, rape. Forcing him into something he doesn't want.

  • The horse was perfectly relaxed and did not struggle at all so it wasn't against his will and plenty of trainers use this method. Look at her more recent video, you'll see that the horse is now doing it without ropes calmly and cooperatively, I don't see what's wrong with that. The rope is just a start. She weened the horse off of it so I support this method for people who aren't professionals because even if they arent, they still can teach horses great tricks.

  • Just because plenty of trainers use this method doesn't make it right. The world is filled with horse trainers, some are good and a lot more don't have a clue and are bullies! Don't just accept something simply because it's widely used! I'm not saying its the worst method but it certainly isn't the right way. I personally wouldn't be proud of being able to force a horse into submission, and even the amateurs in this world can learn the correct way.

  • But she didn't force him. He was perfectly happy to do it so there's nothing wrong with that. Look at her next video, now she doesn't have to use the rope and soon all she'll have to do is speak, if she's not already. No big deal

  • great job! :) not saying anything nasty, but if you try turning the horses head around the other side of his body, it'll be easier for him to lay down :)

i tried this with my horse, but he freaked when i started to pull him down, so i stopped, i didn want to ruin his trust, so if i teach him ill get someone to help me instead

once again great job, i dont think its hurting him and certainly not forcing him, theres no way you could make him go down if he didn trust

  • Well down, this video shows that you have a good relationship with your horse and it reinforces your position as chef. You can hear him huff the second time and you could take this to be ok I accept you really are the boss as the first time he got up before you could get on him like a little rebellion. Well done for doing it a second time.

  • Your horse looks calm, clearly thinking about what you want and you look ecstatic ...Way to go. Love your animal and love your achievements.

  • Guys. I do Parelli, I'm in L3, and I am apparently missing what you guys find so horrible and forceful in this video. I think she did a great job and her horse was calm and thinking. She was teaching him to respond to pressure and rewarding him with release. Hmm. Sound familiar? That's what Parelli is about, right? It sucks when people critisize every little thing about Parelli, so if you guys want us Parelli-ers to get the respect we deserve, please gives others the respect THEY deserve too.

  • Wow, people are dumb ahahha. Anyone ever heard of Tommy Turvy? The Equine Extremist? I've seen his clinics several times and this is how he teaches his horses to lay down. The only thing she did wrong was pull his head in, when she should have pull it out. But even so - the horse looked completely fine! Well done =p He's adorable, too!

  • ok, you can tie your horse up so he has no other choice but to lay down - "impressive" ..

  • dear lord people. be open minded to others training habits. Parelli isn't the law, you know.

  • hes just as stubborn as my mare XDD shes a sorrel QH. i have videos of her up on utube :)

  • Thought that was excellent, its not cruel he is in no distress & pretty soon he will do it much easier to suggestion.

  • "if you had a better relationship he would do it cus he wanted...not by force

you should seriously try parelli "

agreed. Tieing up the leg in order to "show off" is nothing more than force

  • please show how to sit horse

  • i know that lying down isnt a cruel trick,

but you shouldnt tie the forleg up.

if you want to , just hold it ,

but tying it up might endanger you and him if he spooks or something.

  • yea i know but, check out his newer video i dont use those ropes anymore. I need to post really recent videos on here because he is a lot different.

  • Hi. I have tought my pony to laydown. You have to use the rope at first for your own safty. If the horse drops on you or gets sceard and you are holding the foot, well "Squish!".

The hoof should be held up with the rope so that you can mantain a safe distance, but if he panicks you can let the foot go. :-)

  • @anotherjosephine obviously you have never worked with wild horses ya sack shutr the fuk up

  • @tonyr620

    1. i dont think this horse is at all wild so i dont understand your relevance.

    2. i understand that i dont work with wild horses, so, do you tie their forelegs up and teach them to lay down?

obviously this girl managed what she was trying to teach her horse, and it's great that he learnt quickly. i was just saying if he spooked or something it might have endangered either him or her.

  • HI, thats great! did your horse do any tricks prior to learning to lay down? Like bow? Was this the first time you got him to lay? thanks

  • i tried somethin like this with the horse i ride... he went nuts! he broke the lead....

  • wow, umm yea my neighbors horse didnt exactly like it either. i guess my horse is just very tolerant of me. But i dont even use ropes with him or my miniature anymore. just lift their leg and say down.

  • This is so amazing, he is putting complete trust in you! I'm definately going to try it with my horse!

  • lol horses are so stubborn sometimes! I've been wanting to work w/ my new 9 month old colt Hustler in teaching him how to lay down but Idk if he's ready for that just yet, i don't want to scare/spook him or w/e but I'm prob gonna try that w/ my 9 yr old paint cowboy, he's a dead head so I think he'd let me try it, I've just been tryin to see how everyone else does it or at least starts out.

    great job tho so far!!

  • I think until your horse is mature enough to know *when* you want them to lie down, you shouldn't try to teach it. It could turn into a very bad habit.

  • when i teach my horse how to lay down he does not go down easy he acts like he is fainting and i dont know why???

  • i think you are doing a WONDERFUL job.

For all the haters: Learn Parelli, John Lyons, Monty Roberts, or any respected "big name" horse person and you'll discover what she is doing is teaching. It is in NO way cruel, harmful, or humanly selfish to trick train a horse. If you actually took the time to learn the methods of training (and not just mouth off a few things you heard) you'd know she is asking AND showing her horse what she wants.

    Keep up the good work!!

  • that is so great! i have a horse too. i tried it the other day. it failed lol

but now i know you gotta have the lead rope on also haha

your lucky your mom is so supportive. my mom hates the fact that i have a horse. she is never even at the barn i board at with me. rawr. lol

    im jealous of youuU! haha

i saw the last video of how he is doing on laying down and wow! one trick can go really far.

you should try laying him down when ur on him :)

  • if you had a better relationship he would do it cus he wanted...not by force

    you should seriously try parelli

  • After reading all the comments, I don't get why some people are so harsh. I haven't seen any complainers offering a better way either, only complaints. For a horse to lay down in the presense of a human shows total trust. Anyone who knows anything about horses can see that Caddy has no problem doing your trick and looks forward to the treats you give him. Keep up the good work and don't let the jerks get you down. For similar training methods, look up John Solomon Rarey on the internet.

  • My pal taught her horses to lay down by leading them into the pasture after riding and bathing. She gave a verbal and physical cue when they started to look for a place to lay down. Then, once they were down, she rewarded them like CRAZY! It worked really well and the only problem with it is that you can only do it in warm weather. No force.

  • Don't listen to those jealous people. You're doing a great job on making him lay down. This is the way we can teach horses to lay down. The thing is all other only post the video after the horse has been trained to lay down on comand, but of course they were trained the same way. =D

Beautiful horse! I really enjoyed! =)

  • I like so much if your horse would kill you idiot! Shit person!

  • Awesome. Thanks for posting this. I can't wait to try it with my Clydesdale mare Aleah... once it gets a little warmer out, heh.

  • LULLIG

  • WTF are u doing?

You'r doing it the wrong way..

  • so tell her the right one.

  • little harsh

  • Hey, looks like horsepeople are the same the whole world over, cant wait to get the knives out. It stinks !! I think you are a great sort, keep on sticking up for your self and to hell with the knockers. They dont do anything with their horses except manicure them and their stable floors !! I have 2, one rides western, english, and drives, the other rides english and drives. I found my 4yo appy can get up with me on her back today, so i'm going to train her your way. Have a good day !!

  • great job! don;t listen to all these losers!

i thought your horse looked fine doing the trick, not cruelly treated or abused. i hope someday i can get my horse to that point!

  • This has nothing to do with trick or liberty training, you are far to late with youre candy, and why all the ropes?

Horse is not paying any attention to you, so I really don't understand how you can ask (whell.. better Forse!) the horse to lay down if it is not focused on you....

  • What ever and actually it looks like he does pull against you now unlike you I am going to move on with my life and continue to listen to music

  • alright

  • This is not cruel. Odviously ya'll don't know what you're talking about. A rope around a horses foot does NOT hurt them! Now, is the horse hurt? Hmm, I think not. It teaches them to lay down. If you didn't notice, she gave him a treat right when he laid down.

    Anyways, great video :]

  • This is just too cruel. Gosh, don't you see this is NOT the right way of learning a horse to lay down?? No, can't you really not see that? Oh, this makes me soo mad. I don't get you.

Come on. I'm so sorry for that horse. I know it is cute to learn a horse something like that, but you learn a horse freedom dressage in a KIND way. Not like this.. please, get some help with this.. you don't know what kind of damage you cause with this horse. Just get someone who knows what he does..

    so cruel..

  • well i dont use ropes anymore.....ive never hurt him and he enjoys it. when i lay him down in the summer he rolls and eats and i cant make him get back up he loves it sooo much. and im not sure why its cruel im not forcing him, im asking him if my horse didnt want to lay hes stronger than i am and he could pull to get away. i think your mixing cruelty up, im not beating or neglecting him. hes loved and cared for how is this cruelty. look up the definition. sorry im not perfect for your liking...

  • oh icic, well now that i think of it i dotn know how else you would do it really=P

  • thankyou for supporting me, i wasnt sure why its cruel either. and besides we advanced and we are no longer using ropes.

  • Mean

  • please explain why this is mean. and check out his progress in laying down, i dont use the ropes anymore he used ropes for 3 days. I dont get why people think this is so cruel i would never hurt my Cadillac

  • The hrse doesn't seem to have any idea what so ever what you want him to do and your so exited that your pulling his leg up to an uncomfortable position it doesn't look like he enjoys it but now that I think about it I guess it isn't any worse then our boarder trying to shove my horse over on his side *shakes head*

  • look....if my horse was uncomfortable doing this he would pull against me. hes not being hurt and stop focusing on the ropes please. just check out my other video of him. he lays without ropes now. i used rope for a very short while, then moved to just my hand. im trying to teach him with me just tapping his leg, and he bows but doesnt go down yet. it takes time i guess. and now i have to wait for warmer dryer weather. just please dont tell me im hurting him or this is cruel, alright cuz its not

  • You are like Karin Tillisch and her gelding Shadow...... :D She was my idol.... But I didn't teach it like this :D But you both are really GOOD!!!!

  • Thankyou, we dont use ropes anymore and he loves to lay down and roll around haha.

  • THATS SOOOO COOLL!!! Im gonna try that w/ CQ in the summer!

  • good luck and be careful! not every horse tolerates the ropes like cadillac.

  • lol thats cute, but i dont thats the correct way to do it but i guess if if it works for you....and no im not saying its cruel just not the correct way.

  • i didnt know how, i was never taught. but i wasnt hurting him, and we dont use ropes anymore. He loves to laydown in the summertime and roll and eat the grass its hard to make him get back up haha

  • great job! how old is he?

  • thankyou, hes 8 yrs

  • This is NOT the way..

Take lessons before you do something stupid like this. You're hanging on the rope !! And u'r proud of this ?!

  • Yes im very proud of my horse. I wasnt hanging on the ropes i was tugging and besides i dont use ropes anymore, he advanced in his learning. check out his progress in laying down. I may not know the "Correct" way but i taught him didnt i?

  • I don't care what anyone says- that is just cruel and completely unwarranted- I mean, how hard to you wanna whiz that rope across his withers?

That's not horsemanship, that just being domineering.

  • never said it was horsemanship. And im not WHIZING anything across his withers. he was never hurt and we used ropes for three days. we arent using ropes anymore. And im not sure how you get cruel out of this but alright you have the right to your own opinion.

  • I think that you did a great job with him! he definatley looks forward to those treats and lol the look on his face is so cute.

  • thankyou! he does love his treats... haha

  • Yes it is possible to teach it without ropes- so what?

He looks bored, so I would try to be a little quicker on the treats and not require him to stay down or carry you up on the first day, but otherwise good job. He certainly does not look stressed- not particularly happy, but certainly not stressed!

  • well, calm horses tend to look bored. and extremely smart horses also look bored. My mare is so smart that whatever I teach something she thinks it's far too easy and bores the hell out of her. However if by any chance she does not understand she freaks out! Bored is not a bad thing, or even the rider's fault most of the time: it's just the horse's personality. We only gotta look out that it's not really our overdoing... that tends to result in either zombies or horses bucking you off and awaaay

  • He's not a dog, lol.

    "Stay"

    :P

Laying down is a neat trick to teach a horse, however you can do it without the ropes..

and it is important that you give them immediate release once they do what you ask.

  • look....i teach my horse and my horse teaches me, we learned this trick together

  • apart from the bad language, well said! these people know as much about horses as I do of cooking... looooooool

  • Tricks are fantastic, but you really don't need to use ropes to do them.

  • we dont use ropes anymore

  • You're giving him too much slack, you dont need to be at his back end when pulling on him, it could potentially cause problems. It's a good start but I'm training mine by touching his forearm to bring him down, so that when I'm riding him he'll lay when I touch him with my boot. Good for people who cant mount/dismount or if I were to fall and get injured out in the pasture alone.

  • That is just curel! So curel. I'm so sorry for that horse.

  • im sorry that you feel sorry for cadillac, your an idiot

  • That is just curel. Your horse has an amazing nature and is so tolerant. You not training your horse - your forcing it. My horse can lay down - taught him totally without any use of ropes or anything - all at liberty. Using a rope to pull a horses leg up is bull shit! Go watch the video of my horse bowing (lay down one not on) - he never had a rope near is legs. Only reason he has a halter on it cos hes in n open paddock. Im not a natural horsemanship craazy person - but that makes me sick!

  • It's kind of mean to call someone else's way of doing something bull shit...I didn't notice the horse being in any pain. He looked just fine to me. Being that way just makes you look like a cocky priss.

  • o gimme a break! she's a lil kid! no mater how much strenght she seems to be doing, it's the same as nothing to him! he's lying down so she'll shut up and give him a snack, he's not being forced! My colt has half his size and I couldn't possibly force him to lie down using her techniche. It'll show him wa I whant but then it's his choice! he's faaaaar stronger than me.

  • thankyou, people can be soo mean

  • well im sorry this makes you sick....and im sorry i used ropes for couple days. but not everybody trains the same way. its not like i hurt cadillac... and i dont use ropes anymore. im sick of people calling me an idiot!

  • good job! i'm teaching my mare to bow first so it will be easier to teach how to lay down. just my opinion, wouldn't it be easier to do it in soft arena footing? i don't want to sound like a jerk like some of these other people here. :]

  • very well done :) im in the processing off teaching the lay down we just mastered the counting lol haha

  • Dont listen to people who have no clue. You did an excellent job, keep up the great work. Have fun and stay safe.

  • That was really stupid. it should be used in a trustly way, not forcefully.

  • if he didnt trust me he would have never had to lay down. hes stronger than me if he didnt want to do it he wouldnt have to. and if he doesnt trust me why can i lay him down then lay on him and hop over him and walk circles around him?? explain that to me..

  • is that not putting to much pressure on his joints?

    just a question

  • i dont think it is.... he has never gotten sore or uncomfortable acting.

  • wow your really an idiot! your pulling the horses head the wrong way!! you have to pull the horses head around so he will shift his weight! once he shifts his weight, it will be alot eaiser to lay him down.

  • well he layed down didnt he??

  • Would be better to work slower. use a dressage whip and tap on leg. Once they are willing to hold thier leg in air on your command then use a snaffle bridle to gently ask them to back and down.

  • how long did it take?
