Wow - I can't believe this song is here. I heard the Fresno Community Choir sing this song years ago when I was a child, and I've always heard this song in my head. It was almost like an urban legend (smile) What an underrated classic!
Does anyone know who sang the song which starts out like...I can't forget, how he died for, he suffered so much on Calvary. I can't forget how they pierced him in the side and He hung his head and died but he rose from the grave, Jesus rose, now he lives forever more. Through Christ we now are saved, eternally?
I know these words but I cannot find the song nor who recorded it. This is all I remember about the song.
God began this music run with Edwin and opened the door for Bishop Walter Hawkins to walk through; now it's time for another birth to come through from God through His vessel Edwin one more gain...........continue on Edwin another breakthrough is on the way!!! We love your music.....Saints "Do You Know Him!!
Wow! I haven't heard this song since I was a kid. Thanks for posting. This was recorded during the Hawkins' heyday. (Edwin's 'fro was tight, lol.) :-)
I like how music can take you back to some good times. I was wee little when this came out but loved hearing Tramaine drive I WANNA KNOW!!!! The Hawkins music was ahead of its time. That can only be God divine. And even today the music is still HOTT, anointed and untouchable.
Thank you for posting this classic.... My grandmother used to play this song untic the magnetic tape broke in the cassette player. There is another song on this album called "Running For My Life". If you have that one please post.
First heard this song in the early 80's and visited the Hawkins home church in the Bay area (California) and witnessed this choir sing this song. They turned the church out on it. Their voices left me in absolute awe.
