all that just to tell people we don't know what causes m.s and we have no cure for it and we can't even stop the progression and yet it;s the most common cns disease .
Then once qulified, your an over paid drug dealer, you pump your paitient's full of drugs they walk round like zombies having fits after fits, and u make them come back on a monthly to a 6 mothly basis you chop & change there medication then claim you dunno whats wrong (Cause really u don't) and make up every excuss under the sun, then you palm them off to another docter who does the same thing, PROVE ME WRONG I'M LIVING THIS NIGHTMARE....
@dosh225 Sure that isn't psychiatry you're thinking of?
Neurology deals with strokes, alzheimers, parkinsons disease, the nervous system etc. Psychiatry deals with mental health (schizophrenia, depression etc).
@MilwaukeeFtw No my friend it's definetly not psychiatry i'm thinking of, I'm 100% of sure that. I lived up untill i was 28 years of age unharmed and had 1 turn, all of a sudden i'm epilleptic, hang on the weeknd prior i was dehydrated to the point of spewing on the cricket field lol due to a big 1 the night prior and the day after the seizure i was in hospital with a virus for two weeks on a drip in intense care, yet all the doc wanted to do was give me meds before seeing any reports WTF.
@YurChuck23 I never met a psychologist who was normal to hang out with; i have met many psychiatrists who are cool to hang out with, but do have some odd quirks. never knew if it was due to the people who gravitate toward this or the profession makes them that way. food for thought.
don't forget the part about having abnormally high arrogance levels and your soul surgically removed. i have yet to have one "treat" me, because they no longer learn after getting the degree. Heartless and cold, I have paid far too much for no helpa t all.
@IRANisPERSIA1 Maybe, stop deflecting you little imbesile. And so what if I am from Djibouti? By the way you should see a "spelling" teacher, don't you know that after a question mark you always need to use a capital letter? Idiot

I am a sophmore high school who is interested in medical field. I am thinking about becoming a neurologist as a choice. Also a psychiatrist. Can someone tell me the working hours of the jobs and what they do at work.
Neurologists work less hours than most doctors unless you go into stroke neurology. hours are like 9 to 4. salary for that work is about 150k. greedy people want to work 7 to 6, earning about 350k.
Sorry buddy but if you can't tell what a neurologist does at work just by the name, your probably not capable of taking on 4 years of college, 4 years of med school, 1 year of internship, and 3 years of residency....... dont mean to be a douchebag

You have to be an ugly loser who can only attract women by the cash in your wallet and bank account to become a neurologist. And you really have to dig torturing people.
Usually chemotherapy is used for years or months.
Psychiatric treatment is used on victims for their entire lives unless they can figure out how to runaway when the laws want them drugged for life even though they are innocent.
Anyone who disagrees should go try some of these drugs you want to force on others.
So then we should force all doctors to take their own medicine?
Pick which patient whose drug regimen you want to follow and adhere to...I wonder how many will pick the psychiatric drug regimen and say therapy works wonders?
chemotherapy (lasts a few months, then it kills you)
psychiatric drugging
Let me see you try out some psychiatric drugs if you think they are so great--go turn yourself into a guinea pig and stay on them for decades...see if you can tolerate it. You can't handle it, you are all talk and NO ACTION.
Obviously you have never taken psychiatric drugs, have you? You have never been through chemotherapy either I would presume. Just be grateful for your health and happiness and shutup and go do something useful with your life besides contemplating entering the torture field of medicine.
There is never a way to rationalize with a "mental" as you say. Obstinate ranting is a trademark of delusions. Zyprexa is used for Bipolar. Together this is schizoaffective or schizophreniform, with a tendency toward jobs disparate from personnel. I leave you to your duty and wish you well. Neurologists are different doctors from psychiatrists, btw.
Ranting, as you say, is demonstrated by people being oppressed.
And people who are oppressed are given labels such as bipolar or schizo-whatnot in order to discredit their complaints, including discrediting the "mainstreams" or controlling party's political enemies.Obviously, as Tom Cruise said, YOu do not know the history of psychiatry..and the neurologists were pushing MAOIs on me because I had an oppressed life made more oppressive with each drug they experimented on me
You should listen to Michelle Malkin speak on her conservative views on cable tv. You might call her speech and zealous beliefs ranting. Perhaps some of us just have have truly been oppressed by the drugs you told us were good for us but only ended up making us blind, obese, and disabled. Since the neurologists and the psychiatrists are in power with the legal system, there is no need for you to rant.
I graduated with honors in Computer Science, so no, I am not an idiot. You need to look up the definition of idiot before you start calling people one. Do I need to teach you how to use a dictionary?
I used the term idiot because you are making generalized statements concerning the psychiatric and neurologic profession based on your narrowly grounded viewpoint. Do you honestly think psychiatry has harmed more people than it has helped? No form of treatment is perfect. I agree some of those medications are not healthy and many I do not prescribe because of that; but to think psychiatry is a violator of the people, victimizing lifelong, is absurd and obstinate, i.e., idiocy.
I have been coerced into "trying" nearly every psyche drug on the market, so I do not have a narrow view of psychiatry, but a very broad view of what these drugs to do me, in particular, and in every other patient I have known...Why don't you walk 15 years in your patients shoes and TAKE THE DRUGS YOU ARE FORCING ON OTHERS? You are the hypocrite here. "TREATMENT" is another word for Torture here....I would much rather be "treated" with waterboarding for 5 minutes than with psyche drugs.
Like I wrote earlier, I'm sorry you had such bad experience dealing with psych doctors. Not every doctor is the same. There are some who hurt, being ignorant and negligent, and others who truly help. If you can acknowledge that there are actually doctors out there that help, then you can be level-headed; because such an extreme view is unhealthy and maladaptive. And NO medication or psychotherapy helps that kind of person.
I acknowledge that doctors truly help others by creating high paying jobs for (themselves) and others, but NOT for any mentally labeled victims. If you were to measure patient outcomes in the level of income "mentals" could produce vs the income of their "captors" that would be an indication of HELPING THE PATIENT WORK at also high paying jobs.
If however, they drug the person into somnolence, obesity, and blindness, then have they helped their "patient" or have they only helped THEMSELVES?
honestly this makes me sad, because I have to say that my sister seeing her psychiatrist probably saved her life. Why don't you not do the drugs then if you do not think they help? My sister didn't end up even going on any drugs in the end. She had the experience of seeing someone who did care and they just talked through everything. I hope things get better for you.
Furthermore, with respect to all my other posts, if you agree that I have been wronged by doctor(s), then I ought to be able to sue them all correct? No, I cannot, because your profession has done such an excellent job of convincing the entire jury pool that mentals think of nothing else except violence unless they are drugged to death. You doctors represent our SLANDERERS, DEFAMERS, LIBELERS, and our TORTURERS.
You Are not SORRY for anything that happened to me, you are defending it, and it wasn't "A Doctor" it was DOZENS of "doctors" so don't attribute any kindness to your "character"....you are a HYPOCRITE. Your industry will be crushed someday, if not by the patients speaking out, your industry will be crushed by the cost of the health problems that these drugs cause to people. Psychiatric drugs are the reason for obesity, diabetes, heart attacks and all kinds of other health costs skyrocketing.
You are the one who needs to get a clue..take some zyprexa for a year and try to see if you can stop yourself from gaining 100 lbs in the first year, and realize you are supposed to take if for life; I can name every torture effect from nearly every pysche drug and believe me, I will....you cannot silence us...kill one of us with your drugs and "treatment" but there are always others being "treated" who will say the same things I am saying. HYPOCRITE.
None of your argments addresses the fact that you are A HYPOCRITE unless you try as many and as much drugs as I have tried, that you like to promote to others and recommend to others, etc.
while the neurologist assesses the brain damage that the drugs cause..you neurologists are profiting off torture drugs, the blood money trail goes to you too.
academics and are looking for how well you can think and learn which is what the MCAT is all about and your interview. Maybe you should do alittle bit more research yourself....
the MCAT as a predictor of how well one will do in medical school is such bullshit...I have "honored" and "high passed" all my first year classes and I had a 26 MCAT...so at least in my case the MCAT doesn't predict anything.
you need a min year of General biology, Physics with lab General chemistry (inorganic chemistry) with lab Organic chemistry with lab Calculus and English. Medical school admissions are competitive, so you need to have a strong GPA. A GPA above 3.5 is preferable. And no you don't have to major in science, you just have to major in something you enjoy, and show them your passionate and willing to work. Don't forget your MCAT which is very important, most med schools are leaning away from
Wow. This guy is wrong. Science undergrad is not required, and is sometimes frowned upon. You only need one yr of bio(a bit more is reccomended), and no calculus is required, but stat sometimes is. He said that you need a 3.7 gpa or higher. This is bullcrap. Very few people, incuding pre-meds, have a gpa that high. I stopped watching the video at this point. Never take anyones' word for it. Do the research yourself.

He said that you need a 3.7 gpa or higher. This is bullcrap. Very few people, incuding pre-meds, have a gpa that high. I stopped watching the video at this point. Never take anyones' word for it. Do the research yourself.
