@alafonk2 omg mate, its a hacktool not a virus , i recommend you to download this on their official site not other site and ignore the antivirus warning , or disable your antivirus. and you're safe.. and read the comments in here

all i did was installing ophcrack for vista and downloading tables_vista_free.zip and installing somewhere in the C:/Computer/Programfilesx86/op­hcrack folder. Am I doing this right, can someone help me please. I really need my admin password back!!

@usaf0910 download foofus.net/~fizzgig/fgdump/ , and atleast you have access to your c:\windows\system32\config and run ophcrack . otherwise find in the comment

BTW PEOPLES The ophcrack install thing has a trojan detected with Norton. But i know why its a torjan since it is a password cracker. so i understand.. the problem is my FKN Nortan deleted the file. I also cannot disable the

Norton because its my fathers. I'm using the alterantive method which is the live cd CRACKER

I'm having a bit of trouble.

I downloaded the latest version of Ophcrack LiveCD (version 3.3.1)

And burnt it to a cd-r disc using powerISO

I then, went to the boot menu and started up Ophcrack. All works fine until I get to the cracking window. I expand the tab that has my tables (XP free small) and where it Says progress, it goes up by percentage but the bar on the right side under progress does not change. It reaches 100% and just closes with no password cracked at all

@heavyhe4d Hi i recently made a ophcrack bootable usb stick using universal usb and ophcrack xp 2.3.1.

Now im trying to crack a vista computer so i went to the site and downloaded the vista_free tables as they told me to and extracted it to my tables folder. After this i booted it onto my vista computer and it said launch.sh no tables found on the xterminal box. I've looked on forums everywhere and i dont know what to do :{

@heavyhe4d I did, and that wasn't working either. I finally just switched to Xubuntu, and used xfburn to burn the .iso, which worked perfectly. Cracked (2) 10-letter passwords in 2 minutes, only using the fast and free table!

@Jcube202 Xubuntu? It's a flavor of Linux. Just run it persistent(Google), and it comes with a program called xfBurn. Use it to burn the OphCrack .iso to a CD. Then just reboot your computer from the disk.

@sgomez55 i haven't try that but i try slitaz linux (ophcrack base OS) on my usb, but i think it will works too, use unetbootin for that, ... and u need to download the ophcrack live cd first :D

@chillaah2000 dude this happens to me too. sometimes the installer has a trouble installing the damn tables and doesn't. The files are empty, check em'. re-download them and try now.

it is software to crack password , so ur antivirus will said that is a virus (avira, avg, kasper)... but actually not ... its a hack tool , the antivirus will recognize it as a hack/crack tool not a virus.... so turn off ur antivirus if its detected. But make sure u download ophcrack from their official site

This happens because your anti-virus detected the file and stored it in the virus vault. Recommend you turn your anti-virus off and restore the file from the vault (It's one of the main cracking files that starts ophcrack)

I have not used that kind of anti-virus. But i recommend you searching via google where the virus vault is or where they quarentine virus's/Trojans. Sorry i cannot help you, but i hope this helps. Also that anti-virus your using hogs a lot of CPU on the computer while scanning just to tell you.

download table then make a folder "tables" and extract your table there and put that folder in the root of any drive u have connected to the computer (ex. c:\tables) then try to boot your cd again

anyway , livecd includes tables on it , so actually u dont need to download table again (The XP one includes XP free small tables as the Vista one contains Vista free tables), u can check it after u burn the cd, it contains boot folder and tables folder i guess...

K, I dunno if u can answer this but, i downloaded the Ophcrack live cd for vista using Bit Commet. I burned the iso. files to a blank DvD. When i boot from Dvd, it shows Slitaz on Ophcrack, not Ophcrack itself? i think i did something wrong is that i didnt save the file? or did i do something wrong? Thanks , Try 2 answer if u can ty

@crisisbone as i know "ophcrack livecd" based on slitaz distro but "slitaz distro" doesnt contain ophcrack , and ophcrack just a program (software)... why they use slitaz?? dunno, maybe because its small linux distro and based on opensource..... i dont think that u are wrong , except ur burned cd doesnt contain any ophcrack files, thats wrong :) . And sorry if im wrong .

@MariaOzaine I use the latest one ( i downloaded just several  days before i uploaded this video) . I think its the same between the livcd and the installer , i only try once for the livecd and its easy to use, especially if u use the automatic option when u start the boot cd.
