Being restrained makes this 100000X's worse. Not being able to end it when you want to is the most frightening thing about it. Most forms of torture were actually designed to be more mental then physical. They were largely used to get information. Can't get info from a dead man.
yeah not doing it right.,.. you have to be at a decline with uneven pouring. obv youve never done it before and its not suffocation because you can breath... you just think you cant.
Believe me, not being strapped down changes the entire situation. If I was dying and I had mobility in my limbs I'd be much more psychologically prepared than if I were bound.
Screw water boarding! i rather pour gasoline on someone, set them on fire, put them out with a fire extinguisher, spray them with rubbing alcohol, then repeat! trust me you'll never have to repeat or perform it 183 times like they did KSM!
Screw extremists, waterboarding is too weak for them. Lets go back to to the good old days of British tourture. Stretching on the rack, hang, draw and quarter etc. Now thats still too good for people who are willing to murder innocents. If someone killed a member of my family, just tie them up and give me an anglegrinder and a blowlamp and im good to go.
You *Have* to decline people so their heads are facing downwards - none of these people would last nearly as long, and would have been freaking out at the end if this was done correctly.
I was at a party, and my friend was talking about water boarding, and I laughed at him and told him I could take it for 1 gallon of water... We pulled out the weight bench strapped me down and I STILL freak out thinking about it. It was about 25 of the longest seconds of my life. It is Definitely Torture, if you don't think so, You have never done it.
@Bloodzwurth Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was waterboarded nearly 200 times in secret by people hostile to him, for up to 45 SECONDS or more each time. Tell me how his confession can be considered in any way believable. 200 waterboardings & I would have admitted to being the mastermind behind 911 too.
Glad those extremist assholes get to feel torture. These are the same people who celebrated the deaths of innocent people on 9/11. Whats worse? Getting waterboarded or having to choose between burning alive or jumping 100 stories to your death? Fuck islamist's and fuck the people who sympathize with them.
@TheCrazyeyeskillah You're an idiot and no better then them. This is absolutely torture. It's wrong... It's wrong morally and we have to if we say that we're on higher standards then we have to live by it.
@spyder803300 You're an idiot. Firstly, because you don't know the proper usage of the word "then". In comparative statements, the word you are supposed to use is "than". And secondly,,,,,we are better "than" them dumb ass. Majority of Americans don't stone people to death, fly jets into buildings, or treat our women like shit. You are what most would call a huge fucking pussy. Your so full of shit! If your family was hijacked by terrorists, you would shove that fucking water down so fast.
@1995a1995z it gives a feel of security and gives you an extreme drowning sensation... when they do this in guantanamo bay the prisoners head is always lower than his feet and they are restrained to avoid moving. This torture tactic is very effective but is EXTREMELY dangerous. There are pictures of actual prisoners being "waterboarded" on the internet somewhere... if you search for them you'll find them :)
@1995a1995z You feel like you're drowning. Ask John McCain he was waterboarded and he insists it's torture. In fact he just testified to that fact. "torture “prohibited by American laws and values, and I oppose them"" I'm no republican but on this, we agree.
Water boarding is not what you think. In reality the subject is strapped to a board and dropped headfirst into a 55 gallon drum filled with water. When the subject stops thrashing they are pulled out and revived. Rinse and repeat as many times as necessary.
this is why i love america. Our military gets caught water boarding so thousands of people try it for themselves

I don't know why u need a special name for it, it's just your mouth and nose being blocked that's all aka suffocation!

This is bad. The military CIA version is on an inclined board. It's much more disorienting.

The body should be elevated as well, that way the CO2 in your lungs sits at the bottom of them, making it nearly impossible to breathe.

@TheCrazyeyeskillah I would, If I wanted to torture someone, I would START
with water boarding. I can't imagine it gets worse.

I dont understand what is torturous about it, is it cos you cant breath or the water makes your body feel insecure? can someone please tell me.
