Dan is an extremely underestimated character. Whenever I hear my friends knocking on how crappy he is, I pick him and always kick ass. sagat, seth, gouken, ryu.. don't matter I kick ass with Dan. He's not as fast but if you can do good with ryu you can do good with dan. His super taunt is a waste of an ex gauge, but it's good when employed the way this dude used it

you can also combo a fierce fireball ( i think its a fierce one) into his super taunt rite into his ultra. Makes it link the fireball into his ultra so thats another way of using his super taunt.

Dan's a terrible character in this and every street fighter he has been in. He has no range game, his specials suck, all his normals have neutral or worse recovery and given he has no range game he has to rushdown - which he is pathetic at. Novelty character has its charms though...

@mindahl I think SF4 is his strongest incarnation yet. And he's got the coolest animations out of all the shotos. He's bottom tier but he's still pretty fun, you should see Sanfords dan. With intelligent use of FADC he can be quite formidable. Hopefully he gets some good buffs in SSF4!

A good Dan can ass rape a suckish Akuma all day long.

They say Sagat is the best coz maybe they master Sagat to their style. For me the best is Ryu for his juggling and Ultra.

Dan is actually pretty good, but he takes a completely different mindset than most characters and a lot of practice. He does have some advantages though.

For one, his moves generally do more damage than similar moves. For another... most people don't expect anyone who plays Dan to actually be SERIOUS with him.
