You've got to be kidding me, you guys are morons. He says "you'll be surprised" because of the way the Jeep could actually keep up with the 550i, not cause the BMW won, morons.
I own both a 550i and a Charger SRT8. The SRT8 will smoke the 550 from a dig all day long. Anywhere above 90mph, the BMW willl hit the sweet spot and out accelerate the SRT all day long. I consistently run 12.9 in the SRT and around 13.9 in the 550i (with Sport Package, auto trans).
@cdesmondo This is where YOU should be surprised! The 550i in this video is a 2011. The owner previously had a 2008 550i (Fully loaded, sport package, etc.) which was the SRT8's bitch. He traded it in for the new 550i is a whole new beast, which will run the quarter mile a second faster than the previous version. This video marks where the tables were turned. It's too bad the new SRT8's, although extremely high quality throughout, aren't much faster than the 2006-2010's.
@kiselbob although I enjoy my 550i there is no way in hell I would wast my money on another BMW. This is my 5th and have grew very weary of the quality and near NIL aftermarket support. My next purchase will be an AMG. As far as selling the SRT....nothing compares to American Muscle and the aftermarket support for these cars is awesome.

As a matter of fact, he didn't think he would need to use the brake for the launch in this video, hence the "surprise." I know cars very well, but I don't spend my time "magazine racing." Furthermore, this 550i was the first EVER on the streets in the US. I hope to re-do this race soon, this time with the cars launching simultaneously.

@connortusa it totally depends on what kind of driver you are. one week ago i bought my first bmw its a x5 , as i said its my first bmw but not my last. i totally love it. i was used to sporty cars ,coupe's and convertibles but the x5 is much better. i would go for the BMW its the best of 2 worlds (comfort and speed and better looking than the benz) personally if i were you i would go for the 645 or 650 that is hat i call a car. greetings from holland

First good looking, second sporty, third luxurious interior. But then I did some research and the E-class got high rating so I checked it out. I always wanted the bmw but I wanted a second opinion. O and btw I would love to have the 650 but it breaks my budget. Has to be below 70k. If anybody else has a suggestion for a car under 70k
@connortusa my x5 is second hand . that saves a lot of money when you buy one thats only a few years old. if i had more money i would buy the 645/50 second hand like 3 or 4 years old. when a bmw has 60000 miles everything is still new. if you treat it well it can live up to 400.000 miles.

@connortusa u used bmw will last very long without many problems. i am also a partime mecanic and my advise never buy a vauxhalll/opel or a ford. a bmw is great but never floor the gas until the engine is hot. goodluck .o and only use the specific oil the bmw dealer subcribes .do not buy any oil at the gasstation they sell great oil for all japanese ,french and a lot of other cars but dont use it in a bmw

@lnUter0 I will have to disagree. I know somebody who picked up one of my favorite cars, an E63 AMG. The car had 18,000 miles on it and carried the remainder of its full warranty. One day, the engine literally self-destructed at just 22,000 miles. Oil had metal shards in it. Mercedes-Benz fought the warranty claim for three months before finally putting a brand new engine in the car. Two months later, he gave it some juice while driving well after break-in and the accessory belt snapped.

My point is that vehicles of both Mercedes-Benz and BMW are as likely as any other car to have issues, or in this case, suffer catastrophic failure. And in the event that a major component needs replacement, you will need to fight like hell for the warranty will take care of it. So much as a different air filter in the car would probably void your warranty in the case of a high dollar claim. My friend's warranty claim cost over $50,000.
What generation of E63 was this? Did he buy it used? Mercedes has a higher proven reliability than BMW nowadays and one of the highest (top five) in the world. You're living in the past. w212 E63 >>> F10 M5.

@connortusa it totally depends on what kind of driver you are. one week ago i bought my first bmw its a x5 , as i said its my first bmw but not my last. i totally love it. i was used to sporty cars ,coupe's and convertibles but the x5 is much better. i would go for the BMW its the best of 2 worlds (comfort and speed and better looking than the benz) personally if i were you i would go for the 645 or 650 that is hat i call a car. greetings from holland

@TheEarepol Thx. I thought of getting the x5 but then I broke my budget after I put all the options I wanted. So then I went to the the 550i and loved it. First good looking, second sporty, third luxurious interior. But then I did some research and the E-class got high rating so I checked it out. I always wanted the bmw but I wanted a second opinion. O and btw I would love to have the 650 but it breaks my budget. Has to be below 70k. If anybody else has a suggestion for a car under 70k

@connortusa my x5 is second hand . that saves a lot of money when you buy one thats only a few years old. if i had more money i would buy the 645/50 second hand like 3 or 4 years old. when a bmw has 60000 miles everything is still new. if you treat it well it can live up to 400.000 miles.

Second problem is that I load it up with the specific options that I want so im not sure I can find that is tailored to my excact needs

@connortusa u used bmw will last very long without many problems. i am also a partime mecanic and my advise never buy a vauxhalll/opel or a ford. a bmw is great but never floor the gas until the engine is hot. goodluck .o and only use the specific oil the bmw dealer subcribes .do not buy any oil at the gasstation they sell great oil for all japanese ,french and a lot of other cars but dont use it in a bmw

@lnUter0 I will have to disagree. I know somebody who picked up one of my favorite cars, an E63 AMG. The car had 18,000 miles on it and carried the remainder of its full warranty. One day, the engine literally self-destructed at just 22,000 miles. Oil had metal shards in it. Mercedes-Benz fought the warranty claim for three months before finally putting a brand new engine in the car. Two months later, he gave it some juice while driving well after break-in and the accessory belt snapped.

My point is that vehicles of both Mercedes-Benz and BMW are as likely as any other car to have issues, or in this case, suffer catastrophic failure. And in the event that a major component needs replacement, you will need to fight like hell for the warranty will take care of it. So much as a different air filter in the car would probably void your warranty in the case of a high dollar claim. My friend's warranty claim cost over $50,000.

BMW's 3,5,6 and 7 series are just as good as Mercedes C,E,CL and S Class and BMW's M division fairs well and even out performs some of Mercedes AMG cars, so when you say younger people and 2nd rate............ what exactly are you referring too? And just because rich people prefer it, doesn't mean its better, it just cost more.

Sence finding a csl is imposible to find the regular e46 m3 did 1:31.8, 1:26.9 Mercedes-Benz CLS55 AMG (faster than an e92 in a straight line), 1:23.0 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series..driver is everything at nuringburg. These lap times were all done with the same driver.
