I've questioned what actually happens to this monster? He doesn't appear to die, just reaches out and tries to grab you in the end. And you never revisit him to kill him.

You fight a different cat in the river... although this one does re-appear when you are on the stage "Parade" (the one where you are on the back of the cart)

I used an Adaptec Gamebridge capture card. Your best bet for getting one at a reasonable price is eBay; since they discontinued the item, amazon has jacked prices up from $20 to ~$200 before shipping. If you don't trust eBay, a reasonable alternative is a Dazzle capture card. Google it.
