@clark2cinque I don't have the video, but an RTA is just a way of displaying a histogram of a sound sample - many ways of doing that. Audacity is freeware that you can get for the MAC or PC. It does histograms ('analyze' / 'plot spectrum' menu). You will need a relatively accurate mic. Behringer's ECM8000 is decent and inexpensive and they make mic preamps as well. If you plan to use an RTA regularly, get a hardware RTA... easier and quicker to use but more expensive...
