basically it's republican nazi land where the havenots r totally under the thumb of the have's. those with money n got something should live there only. at the walmart on overland,u have a whole community of homeless ppl living in their cars n vehicles in the parking lot.u don't believe me, go check it out. old,poor ppl and younger ages too. children etc. living in their vehicles cuz the city can't/ doesn't provide low cost section 8 housing etc. there's never any lo cost housing open/available
and there's a huge homeless problem. when i lived there, u would see all around the city people holding up signs desperate for change/ a dollar etc. for such a small city, there's alot of homeless people.and 9 times outta ten,the cars n big macho pick up trucks would just ignore these people n pass on by without giving em anything. never seen one idahoan give a damn dollar to anybody on the street.cuz most r all heartless,cold,selfish, think their 'superior 'right wingers who have no compassion
they get rid of/ fire workers for making too high of a wage. a co worker of mine worked for the business for like 9 and a half years. they up n fired her 1 day.and y?the bullshit reason they gave was that she had 2 many customer complaints. after 9 and a half years? suddenly she has 2many customer complaints? it's crap.she was with the company 2long n was making a wage they thot she didn't deserve.she got 2 many once a year raises i guess.the workers r valueless there! cutting costs/ppl is it!
People that have grown up here seem to really like it. I'm from the west coast as many of the people have come here because it is an inexpensive place to live compared to almonst anywhere in the US.
The area grew like gangbuster all of the last decade. So fast that only the hisorical districts kept their charm. They had to really hoof it to beef up the roads to accomodate all the new folk. And suburbian ranch houses sprouted everywhere.
Boise is a really beautiful place, especially during the winter months in the north end. Only problem is that NO BODY knows how to drive here especially when it snows. But this is still an awesome place to live with lots to do, especially if you like to fish, hunt, camp, do almost anything outside. Boise is one of the best places to do that and the surrounding areas.

The economy blows, its too white, air quality is shit with a brown clould over it (you would actually have to go outside the city to know what I mean) which I doubt you do. Probably another 30 yr old going to BSU and living in mommy and daddy's basement who gets butt hurt if someone tells the truth about boise. Music scene is nonexistent. AUSTIN RULES!

@themccoy500 Seriously, you have never seen it. You would actually have to leave town to see it. Either go south to Blacks Creek, take a left, go a couple of miles and turn left to Bonneville point. Great place to take a hike and an incredible view of the city. Try it tomorrow morning and get back to me. You will then see the brown cloud which sits over Boise everyday. Or just head north to Horseshoe Bend and once you get any elevation you will see it. Or go to Bogus Basin

Try getting out and seeing the area in which you live. I lived in Boise for a few years and made it point to check out the entire valley and state. Just not dynamic enough for me, the economy (or lack thereof), culturally (virtually none), weather sucks, no land use laws (growing moronically), but it is a very safe place.
I've only been near Boise once and that was on the way to Salt Lake City, but it looks like a really nice, clean, safe, laid back city. I'd like to visit again and go see downtown, the capitol building and maybe take in a Boise State game!

First week in Boise - very cool place compared to places like Olympia or Everett Wa, saw thousand springs / Hagerman valley 2 hr drive away. They're giving some big houses away, some aren't much cheaper than in Seattle. Seen Hyde Park, Westwood Drive Inn, the washer woman sign, found out Garden City / Chittenden means Chinese+Garden where the Chinese grew and sold vegetables through an underground tunnel. Big tea party too.

Spring has sprung in boise and its crappy as ever. My friends said it was snowing and it is March 2. I understand Mayor Bieter is ignoring the streetcar taskforces suggestion to mothball this idea and is pressing forward. You guys better get that fool out of office before he bankrupts the city. Why have a taskforce if you are just going to ignore them.
I moved here from Jersey in August. The weather was fantastic until around October/November. Winter was bearable by Jersey standards, but March up to now absolutely SUCKED! They are getting better weather back East! Is it always like this? This is a real BUMMER! Freaking windy and cloudy all the time. I blame the F*cking pacific Ocean.
Boise is not boring. Boring is an attitude, not a place. The video is nice but doesn't even do it justice. I have lived in most major cities and this is the cleanest. People here are not strange, they are nice. I had to get used to strangers smiling at me or saying hello. Downtown has excellent restaurants, museums, and is located right next to BSU so the night life is full of young people. I could go on but If you want to escape the concrete jungle, take a closer look. Talk to Mr. Baldwin.

@biukucanoe Seattle is awesome but hopefully you like to watch the seasons change. This video appears to be late winter as Boise is beautiful in the spring when it is blossoming. Much more than these pictures show, not to mention 30 minutes from skiing, beautiful mountain ranges, etc. Welcome. I used this particular realtor and he is great. I would look him up if you moving.
If you are ready for a slow paced boring life. Move to Boise. Not much happens good or bad. The weather sucks for 5 months every year. There is a nice brown film that covers the valley everyday. Its probably the most white town of its size in the nation. People are very strange and drive around all year long with boise state flags on their cars. At least the traffic is ok, you can get anywhere in about 30 minutes. Airport is close to downtown, which is good and bad. Luckily I got out.
We are glad to see bad attitudes go. The weather gets cold but I love the snow. Spring and autumn are gorgeous. The summer is hot but the humidity is low. People have flags when the Broncos play, this town shows support for it's team. Sorry, sounds like you missed the spirit.
