Sura Baqarah 2: 256 "Let there be no compulsion in religion" The Qur'an says nothing about killing someone who leaves the religion. Islamic culture is different from the religion. Perhaps there are some Muslims in the world who do this. However, it is not Islam and it is not in the Qur'an.

My brother (or sister) please do not try to change our religion in order to please others. It is clearly stated in Bukhari as this video claimed.
However, we are not allowed to do this in non-muslim countries since we are also told to follow the rules of the land and the sharia isnt established.
Everyone should consider this...what happens to someone who "apostates" to an opposing army or a person who commits treason?
They are either killed or are imprisoned.

As muslims we look at the Quran AND the hadiths/sunnah as guidance. As is stated in the video, there is a hadith in sahi bukhari that commands killing apostates and we must accept that.
HOWEVER, it may have been a command in the context of their situation like the many verses in the Quran about fighting (which was only during war but can be taken out of context)
You are right that it is not stated in the Quran.
Apostating is in comparison to treason in certain countries.

You quoted surah Al Anfal ayah 12-13 and this is clearly understandable in its historical context because this chapter was revealed in medina during the battle of badr and it was during conflict between muslims and the pagans and hypocrites who tried to wipe muslims off the face of the earth and they failed miserably thanks to the strong belief of the muslims that god is one.all muslims have different levels of knowledge. come and have dialogue with me if you are sincere god willing

There AREN'T words: 'my enemies', 'robbers' etc.
The words are CLEAR: strike necks of Allah's (&Muhammad's) opponents, not robbers' or traitors' necks, etc.
Besides Badr happened because earlier Muhammad robbed Meccan caravan and Meccans just wanted punish him for the robbery.

Ali Dashti isnt even note worthy of islamic history and even relevant. I speak arabic and speak hebrew and english. The qur'an is clear as night and day. Anyone can pick up the qur'an and understand it. the thing is the context is what gets many non muslims confused because they dont bother to get the historical context of each chapter and therefore when trying to debate or refute islam they fall flat on their faces. Check tasfir's of the qur'an and truly you will understand its deepness
