Crazy solo by Fats.. and Fito played the best drum solo I've heard at a gig, right along with Tony Smith and Ndugu (Mclaughlin, Santana shows). Was not aware Fats gigged with Butterfield - could that be a mistake? Anyway thanks for still photo - it shows Fats and clearly to the left a ROLAND 201 space echo!

Aside the first LP in 1967 (in which FRANK COOK played), there has never been any other drummer in Canned Heat but FITO DE LA PARRA. Who is -appart from one of the top (and most under rated) drummers of all time- the leader of the band since, at least, 1981 (and probably before).

I just heard this for the first time. Hollywood Fats is playing the guitar! I saw him with Paul Butterfield. He was great. Man! They were so influential and in a moment they're all gone. Thanks for the upload, a real treat.
