The movie is boring and so is Bergman's acting. The not nominated Marilyn Monroe should have won the Oscar for her sexy, funny and touching performance in "Bus Sop".
@jkfromcincty Your typo is apt - Bus Sop :-) But seriously, 'Anastasia' is a majestic movie. I just watched it again. (If you have only seen this clip, you should watch the *whole* movie.) All the players - Ingrid Bergman, Yul Brynner and the rest - are wonderful. Oscars are not always a true indication of a great movie - it's all politics (case in point Bette Davis missing out on Oscar for Baby Jane because of Joan Crawford telling her NY Academy friends not to vote for Bette).
I think Anastasia was ok and not that great as they advertised plus the ending sucks There was no chemistry between Brynner and Bergman well Brynner did met her halfway but where's Bergman? If I was her I would luv to get on his boat. Bergman did not deserve that Oscar because I could not understand anything she said and she went over the top in a bad way. Yes, I agree Brynner was very gorgeous and very handsome in this and good acting from him as well.
OK Bergman is a wonderful actor. Maybe this wasn't such a great perf in retrospect, but there's no denying she was excellent in films like Casablanca, Murder on the Orient Express, and Spellbound. Just always so effective.
I watched the part in the theatre when she removes that thing on her shoulders.....she makes this look and flings it....I watched it hundreds of times one day....maybe i'm sick, but there is so much rubbish in the world, this one second is like an immense drug
I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please view my clip of some rare 1940's movie star cards, including Ingrid Bergman, Humphrey Bogart, Judy Garland, Ingrid Bergman, Frank Sinatra, Gregory Peck, Errol Flynn,
Ronald Regan, Lauren Bacall, Bing Crosby and many more.
This was the first Ingrid Bergman film I've seen... And she deserved her Oscar for it!

Ingrid Bergman was one of the most beautiful and talented actress in movie history. Only a pitiful handful would disagree.
