I moved out of NJ 4 years ago to Illinois because of the high property taxes. I sure do wish Christie was in office then. I would probably not have left.
Wasn't the $11 Billion shortfall based on fully funding everything: fully funding the pension payment, fully fund the school formula, and fully funding all homestead rebates back to the original funding formula?
I can't believe I am about to say this, but here it goes: I wish I lived in New Jersey. Yep, Gov. Christie has accomplished the impossible. I am so inspired by this man's intelligence, courage and integrity, that I am jealous of the people who live in his state because they have the opportunity to be led by the only politician this country has who deserves the respect and admiration of the voters.
I am not from New Jersey, but what he's doing, is really working up there. I truly commend the state of New Jersey and Chris Christie for what they are doing. He is a far cry from Corzine, that's for sure!
Christie is the best thing to happen to NJ. I am in a union and work at a water utility plant and would gladly give up my job for the private sector if there was a position. There is dead wood in the unions. Christie, cut the pensions and benefits if you need to save NJ. I just want my kids to have what I had “A chance at the American dream”.
Can New York hire Governor Christie as a consultant, please? New York can't seem to figure out that the road to a solvent, responsible state government is wiser spending, and not taxing the living crap out of residents.
@LtPylon New York will correct itself eventually. Unfortunately, that correction will probably be a total collapse of state and many city governments, probably a few months after California goes tits up.
It's kind of like what a paramedic friend of mine once told me, "Everyone stops bleeding eventually."
The governments do not have a revenue problem, they have a taxing and spending problem. Finally, someone is going against New Jersey's Democratic establishment and fighting the taxing and spending policies that have plagued Trenton for decades.
If the Democrats fail to put Cap 2.5 on the ballot, they will suffer an embarrassing defeat at the polls.

I already called my Assemblyman Chivakula in District 17.
They Ask for your Name, Address, and what your concern is.
Tell them you're in favor of Christie's 2.5 cap and that you want it on the ballot. If they ask why like his secretary asked me, tell them Sweeny's is a piece of shit, it's no good, there are too many loopholes.
It is with great pleasure that I exercise my freedom to Like what Governor Christie has to say! Now, if I can just vote in a Governor who will do the same...
I live in Cali, you have to respect a guy who serves the people and not himself. What a great example of what a public servant is. Governor Christie is a leader, we need men and women who will put the voters first.
TO BE VERY HONEST TO ALL OF U...I'M A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT FROM CALIFORNIA WHO SOME OF U MIGHT THINK THAT I MIGHT BE AGAINST THIS WHOLE THING, BUT NOT TODAY. THIS CAP 2.5 THAT GOV. CHRISTIE HAD JUST SIGN MIGHT ACTUALLY BE GOOD AND PROMISING. SINCE I'M SUPPORTING FOR JERRY BROWN FOR GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA, I THINK HE SHOULD FOLLOW THIS TECHNIQUE. IN GENERAL I THINK ALL GOVERNORS ACROSS THE U.S., DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS, WHETHER LIBERAL OR CONSERVATIVE SHOULD TRY THIS PLAN OUT.
He is a man who speaks the truth, who operates from a system, who knows we cannot give away the store becuase it "feels good". A system needs rules to work. Bravo Gov. Christie. Support Meg Whitman in CA - she needs to operate as you do.

Anyone who opposes Cap 2.5 is an enabler. They're enabling Trenton's addiction to our tax dollars.
