1) I project my Super 8 film using a Super 8 projector. 2) Using a telecine box I copy the projected film with my digital camcorder. Then I capture it all to my hard drive and I edit using Sony Vegas. I hope to be posting a "how to" video soon on film to tape transfer but in the meantime is you search "telecine" I'm sure you'll find a tutorial on YouTube.
You have to transfer your super 8 film to video. Either by sending it out to a pro transfer facility or by doing it yourself. If you google telecine you will get plenty of leads to follow for either procedure.
I'm bidding on a Elmo Super 8 Sound 230S-XL Movie Camera on e-bay at this very moment in time. Can't wait to start making movies!

The Elmo 350SL takes 6 AA batteries for both motor and meter. No separate meter battery. This is a modern Super 8.

i totally agree about the film stock! 100D has made me a believer in colour super8 film again.
question to anyone who owns a elmo 350sl, is there a hidden light meter battery somewhere, or does it work off the 6 AA batteries? thanks!

I used 64T for this test. Horrible film. Thank you Kodak for discontinuing it. 100D, its replacement is so much better.

I did adjust the meter for this particular shot but when shooting indoors I found that 9 out of 10 the footage looks fine on auto.
