  • I have a x and my gf has a 2 and the x is overall better in my opinion

  • how do you change the main menu format

  • keyboard sucks on droid 2 i have one. you have to push it. it doesnt spring open like some of the other phones

  • thanks nice review

  • getting iphone 4 on monday and getting rid of my droid 2 (:

  • My Droid X with 2.3.3 Gingerbread is better.

  • Very nice review, pretty much sums up both phones. I had purchased a droid 2 from a friend, but I ended up swapping it for a droid x for the larger screen. My parents took my upgrade and got iphones :P booooo

  • personally in person...

  • personally I think DROID 2 is better but instead I got the DROID INCREDIBLE!

No regrets on getting the Incredible

    :)

  • @ProudiPhoneOwner minus the fact the incredible 2 is coming out in a few short months

  • Thank You -3

  • @zollotech i want to get a iphone but i have a i pod and ios doesnt have the best apps sould i get a droid x or 2 or the iphone 4 for verizon

  • To let everybody know the only reason thats it 1.2 ghz is because its overclocked. Thats it!

  • @zrocka97 im getting the droid 2 the 17th to lol

  • hey can u do a review on the droid 2 global vs droid x?..<--

  • @gio132050 sure

  • @zollotech did you do that yet? im wondering what i should get droid 2 global or htc incrdible, any suggestions?

  • @Cosasbebe1 no not yet. I would say get the thunderbolt.

  • The Droid X is the best.

  • Droid 2 global ATW thumbs up!!! ......he should've did the droid 2 global...but i guess at the time the global didn't come out yet

  • Droid 2 global ATW thumbs up......

  • It's actually 1.2Ghz for the Droid 2.

  • @AnimationShorts1 The Droid 2 Global is 1.2, the Droid 2 is 1Ghz

  • the fact that the live wallpaper was running on the X makes the app drawer sluggish and laggy compared to the 2 which isn't running one (this is what I've found on mine)

  • @jgsk0 thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @austnash none suck you dumbass the fucken simplest phone in the world doesnt suck either maybe somone else like the keyboard doesnt like the huge screen...what if someone doesnt use a phone for anything but calling.... when you make a phone better than the droid 2 tell me.... btw the droid x is realllyy nice

  • I have the European Droid 2 (= Milestone 2) and unlike the D2 it has HD video recording.

I choose it because of the qwerty keyboard.

  • Love my Droid X

  • which one..?

  • @swatford98 Those things SUCKED!

  • 4 people still have the original Razor.

  • Yea what announcements

  • droid X rules by far. mine over clocked @ 1.4 and its flying. the droid 2 is boring *yawns*!!!! great vid----> ZolloTech 5 * * * * *'s

  • @zollotech Ik but it's just I don't want a brand new phone that is messed up cause it's new and they have time 2 fix the problems

  • @zollotech but I don't want to spend 200$

  • @messi1fan1 Well I would wait until after a week or two. A lot of new announcements coming up.

  • If I don't want to spend 200$ on the droid 2. Is the droid just as good besides the keyboard being flat

  • @messi1fan1 no, the original droid is slower processor-wise

  • im buying a phone 2day either the droid x or the droid 2 the problem i hav with the x is that theres no keypad but in every other way i love it... my friends tell me that for texting or emailing i cud talk into the phone and it writes it for me thats gr8 but in a meeting i cnt do that so i wanted 2 know if its worth it 2 get the droid x if thats my only problem?

  • i love the big screen but i love the keyboard

  • Hey @zollotech

I like both these phones + the Fascinate. Fascinate i prob. like the most except it seems to NEVER update and kinda feels cheap. I like X but it is maybe too big and i am not a fan of the hump on the back. I do like the Droid 2 but i want to know if it is better than the original droid. I used my friends original droid and i loveeee it. If u could recommend one of these i would much appreciate it.Thanks

  • good job reviewing this i was leaning more to D2 but X seems pretty much the same but bigger. and i dont mind that .

  • Droid 2 Global ;)

  • ok i dont really need a qwerty keyboard but i dont want the huge droid x but i love both phones. i need one that has a good decent battery i like the droid x and i guess the size really doesnt matter i can keep it in my locker all day or something but i would also kinda like the slide out qwerty keyboard. so i was just wondering which phone do u suggest i get

  • @cubsrock10997 Check out the fascinate

  • @zollotech idk why but my mom said i had to either get the droid 2 or droid x

  • @cubsrock10997 Ok then, I would say get the Droid X. It's a great phone and has the nicest camera of the droids so far.

  • @zollotech ok thanks

  • Droid x has no more froyo issues ever since the new update came out. I was pissed off wen i found out it waznt gingerbread but the issues are fixed. DROID X!!!

  • lol its like he accidently clicks history on google and theres a shitload of porn

  • droid 2 rocks

  • droid 2

  • Droid ftw

  • What have you heard about the HTC Scorpion?

  • @08blacksilvy It's the same phone as my Droid 2 only it'll work overseas and all. My phone is a US exclusive version though so in at least one way my phone is better than the Droid2 global.

  • Droid 2 Global! FTW! Droid X has too many issues since Froyo.

  • droid 2 or droid x?

  • @spyk124 X is my choice, but if you need that keyboard check out the 2.

  • @zollotech im lookin for a phone that takes great video and can surf the web really fast. i also would like some fun game apps but i heard that droid x and droid 2 have the same apps. which one should i get, the x or 2

  • Does the droid x have a nice screen resolution?

  • @Sillyduh100 I think they have the same resolution, the only difference is screen size. That's what I got off the internet. They both look pretty amazing.

  • What if i want HD video and a physical keyboard?

  • @daredevils4 then I guess you wait for the next round of phones... besides, I like the Droid X, but I'll hold out for the HTC Incredible HD (unless it doesn't come out before Christmas). Then I'd go with the Droid X, but thats just me.

  • @daredevils4 droid 2.

  • They released a global version of the Droid2 recently "Droid2 Global" It's the same phone only it'll work overseas. Just my luck they'll release an R2D2 version of the global droid 2.

  • i love my Droid X..... seriously i do!

  • Thanks for the review - answered all my possible questions about the two.

  • It all depends on if care more about screen size, or a full keyboard.

  • I really like the physical keyboard because I text a lot so I think I'm going to go with the Droid 2

  • I like to text. I have the enV touch, so I have a physical keyboard, but I also have an ipod touch so I'm used to both a physical and a digital keyboard. However I've heard that the keyboard on the 2 isn't very good. I also like taking pics, but I've heard that the X isn't as good as the 2, despite its on paper stats. I like taking on ride videos like at Disney World and such so I'd like it to be good in dark situations. Size doesn't matter... which do I get... OR do I get the Incredible? HELP!

  • @9695jp get the droid X, it is better than the 2. the 2 has a physical keyboard, but its not that good. the droid x has a large digital keyboard that features swype texting.

  • @TheOmnicosm droid x- hdmi plug in, high def recording, high dec video, picture, quality is insane in droid x, droid 2- qwerty keyboard, droid x(not sure if this is on droid 2 or not) all you have to do is talk into it and it will text it, dont even need to text

  • so when do they think this droid pro thing is coming out??

    also very nice review BTW!!

  • @crazyheathman2 Yes, I should hopefully have one in a couple weeks for review

  • FUCK YOU MOTOROLA i get the droid x and like 5 more phones come out :( oh well droid x still is reallllllly nice

  • @CrackHamsters droid x still murders those phones

  • great vid, thank you!

  • very good video hits all the major points.

  • Do you know if these phones are available in Canada?

  • Both are decent phones the droid x is to large for me though, plus I'd rather have an actual keypad. I don't plan on shooting the next avatar movie through my phone so an hd camera isn't a deal breaker.

  • Hello. I am a current blackberry user, and I am thinking about getting one of the two Droid phones. Would it be a difficult transition? and is there a set number of characters in the Droid texting?

  • searching contacts

  • how about the video waz better

  • @curveballed See the video I did recently comparing the camera on the droid x, droid 2, incredible and Fascinate.

  • I am so torn right now. I am leaning toward Droid 2, but I love the iPhone 4 so maybe I would like Droid X better.

  • I have a Droid 1 now, and it is just way to choppy. I am either wanted to upgrade to the Droid 2 or Droid X. I like a phone that takes good pictures, good for texting, fast and to choppy, and a decent touch screen. Which one would you recommend? Thanks,

    Chase

  • Quick question, how is the voice quality on both of these phones? My girlfriend has the original Droid and the voice quality going out of it into my cell phone is horrible. I am torn between these 2 phones and can't decide on the X or the 2. I once tried the LG Dare and HATED not having a keyboard. Is the X easy to type on? Is Swipe available on the X? One more Q, could you explain a little more on this Droid Pro? haven't heard of that yet?

  • the X is has more of a edge if your a past android user. the droid 2 is more targeted towards new android customers coming over from BB. Also with the white droid2 global phone soon and being clocked at 1.2ghz im curious to see what they do with the d2

  • I"m leaning toward the X. I have Droid 1 currently and I have a problem with the keyboard sliding open in my pocket. I have actually put a crack in the screen because of it. I was at work and it slid open and I had something heavy on my lap and it put a crack in it.

  • Thanks for your review. I've been leaning to the X but my hubby keeps whispering 2 in my ear. I think I'm still going to get the X now that I saw your review.

  • features on the x are so sick..the HD video is ten times better than any other phone out there..i came from the incredible which was a decent phone I liked it a lot but I've found that the x is snappier all around..i love my droid x and the only phone that's going to replace it is a 4g verizon android phone..no other phone can be that much faster without 4g so I'm sticking with bad ass phone for a while (: oh yeah froyo tomorrow woop woop ha android all the way screw iphones androids rock

  • Can you use them, or either as USB's? My friend told me with his droid 1 he can torrent a file and transfer it to his Droid then to his PC with a USB cord. I didn't ask him if that was standard or he just knew how to do it.

  • I can not thank you enough for this review. While i already knew most of this information from my meticulous research beforehand, seeing someone talk about both phones at the same time helped alleviate that, "I'm going to buy the wrong phone" feeling that i always experience when purchasing a new phone. I'm definitely getting the droid x, thanks!

  • Thanks for your comparison. I currently have the D2 because when I went to originally purchase the X it was on backorder. I still have time to make make my one exchange within the 30 days of purchase, and my question is when will the X support Android 2.2? I assume that the newly shipped devices will still come with 2.1 and it will be a downloadable update. SO, any ideas on exact time frame? Thanks again for your input.

  • i prefer the droid 2 cuz of the slide out keyboard

i thought the processors were different tho:O

  • I thought they had different processors?

From what I heard was that the Droid X had a 800Mhz proc.

While the Droid 2 had a 1.1 Ghz

Not much a difference but I think thats why the droid 2 was a wee bit quicker

  • The Droid 2's GPS is sketchy at best - no better than my wife's Samsung Instinct. The phone interface is terrible -- doesn't always load contacts' phone numbers, and locks the screen during calls. When there's no GPS location (most of the time), it does not seem to save pictures. The pictures are actually 3.8 megapixels in widescreen mode. E-mail delivery can take several hours, either over enterprise or yahoo. No way to include the "Universal Inbox" on the home screen. So many issues...

  • i would prefir the droid 2 because im a big fan of the qwerty keyboard

  • can you point me in the direction of Verizon's future offering, or if you know of a iPad future competitor.

  • I know both have 3G mobile hotspot but do you need a subscription for that on one of them and not the other or on both or none or what

  • @grumpygills94 you need to pay monthly (i think $20) for both phones

  • trust me the droid x is much much faster, it just has a slow home screen app, install droid launcher pro and it flies

  • for the droid x is the touch screen key board easy to use ? because i like the key board but i also what the hd camera to .

  • I love the the full keyboard on droid 2, the milestone 2 (droid2) have HD record

  • wow good review, I unfortunatly have a BB storm2 and i am unhappy with it. i will be switching soon to either the Droid X or Droid 2. goodbye BB hello Droid!

  • It seems the Droid 2 has better transitions when navigating through the screen...maybe it's my perception...what's the resolution of the Droid 2? Is it better than the one in the X?

  • @puerroputo slightly but thats because the droid x has a bigger screen

  • I tend to lean towards Droid X because of the larger screen (something I LOVE) but I've been hearing the screen can be pretty laggy. Have you heard or experienced anything like that?

  • Awesome....I was wondering: "Is the only difference between the two the slide out keyboard?" I have a Moto Droid (1) with FroYo and can not STAND the fact that I have a bulky slide-out keyboard that I NEVER use. Now I know that the Droid X not only skips the keyboard but has HD vid and more Megapixels!! Very informative video! Thank you.

  • @TheOmnicosm Thanks I appreciate it.

  • You owned yourself several times there. The D2 loaded faster everytime you said it wouldn't. Food for thought to anyone watching this video:

The Motorola launcher sucks. Install ADW Launcher, or Launcher Pro. Lag-be-gone. Its fuckin magic.

  • Droid 2 is much better i had both, i had the droid 2 for 2 weeks and droid X for a week and a half. but droid 2 is WAY better.

  • This is a very good video. Thanks so much! I am going with the X for sure.

  • How u doing buddy. I'm a droid supporter and been thinking about switching to verizon due to it's service and coverage plans that T-Mob can't produce and also the better, faster, smart phones that verizon has, and after checking out your video I was thinking should I get the Droid X or the Droid 2 because of the qwerky keyboard which reminds me of my G1. So I'm leaning towards the Droid X. thanks

  • @Indiancash I personally prefer the Droid X, but I can do without the qwerty. I would suggest going to a Verizon store and checking both out there. They have a ver different feel in the hand.m

  • droid x and 2 processor same

    resolution same

    screen size droidx

    camera droidx

    battery same software dorid 2

    winner droid x

  • I already have a Droid 1....should I get the Droid 2 or Droid x...someone msg me your opinion....don't answer on comments

  • @manfaux It does show you what you opened and also what is running. It is the same thing. If you go get a task manager you would see all of these are running for the most part. Close those and you save battery life. N00b I am not...

  • @zollotech hahahah. thumbs up

  • @zollotech nope you are a noob cuz i dosent show what is running just the recently opened apps. i know this because if you open ATK you can see what is running and i know never open voice commands but its always there.

  • @manfaux tool

  • I know that when you're browsing the internet on the Droid X, there's a way to zoom in and make the text larger. You would the desired area two or three times to zoom in. Does the Droid 2 have that same feature?

  • I notice Droid 2 has a dimmer screen, is that just me?

  • droid 2 is better

  • driodx has 2 sets of antennas

  • doid x seems to be taking the longest to get outdated

  • in ur vids u shud put like a the answer to which one is better.

  • I really needed this..I like how you said straight-up what the major differences are. At first I thought I solely wanted the Droid X but it's on crazy backorder status right now and I'm very impatient. I don't care about HD Video or the HDMI out. HD is overrated anyway. Plus, I put my phone in my pocket alot so that must be a nightmare to carry around. The Droid 2 was on its last dying breaths and still performed great. In my opinion, Droid 2 won. Thanks!

  • Exactly what i needed. Thank you, i like how you made it simple to understand the main differences, bottom lines (ie: real keyboard vs HD quality 8 meg pix. camera).

In Europe none of them made it yet, hopefuly this Winter, they have plans to rename them as Milestone 2 (for Droid 2) i have read somewhere, i think that would be an aweful move)

Do you plan on new run at the review with the same OS Version ?

The day of the overhyped iphone are coming to an end :) if marketing is done right.

  • lets see.... why is the Droid x slower... hmm could it be the live wallpaper? hmm maybe..

or could it be that the droid 2 has 2.2 (FROYO)??????? I THINK SOO

compare these two when the droid X has 2.2, than well see.

  • @TheRealLifeguard Once Froyo is officially out on the Incredible, Droid X and Droid 2, I plan to compare them again.

  • @zollotech thank you. Can't wait.

  • @TheRealLifeguard Thank you!!! I keep telling people the comparising doesnt count because the DX doesnt have the update yet, but once it does, its going to murder the droid 2 hahaha

  • physically... NOT the same.

Driod 2: smaller, thicker, slide out keyboard, 1 mic,

Droid X: larger, skinnier, no keyboard, 3 mics, Mini hdmi out,

  • @TheRealLifeguard So what Droid do YOU reccomend?

  • @youtubian107 You like a keyboard WITH touch too, and a more pocketible size - droid 2

if you want a big screen, and will use the HD video alot ( HDMI out etc) get the X.

both android, both 1ghz proc, both suppot 2.2 froyo ( X will get update)

i have an droid X, i'm looking into the Samsung Fascinate ( SUPER AMOLED and smaller)

  • I have had the Droid X for about a month now...and ever since I have had it it seems to run out of battery around 1 pm if I take it off the charger around 7 am. Do you know a way to get more juice of of the droid X? I have the .604 Update, but not the new X6 battery.... I'm low on cash so I don't want to buy anything new until September, but in the mean time....what can i do besides sit nest to an outlet all day?

  • @airman1stclass ive had the droid x for about a month also. and you might wanna get it checked out cuz i take mine off arond 8 and it runs til around 2

  • compare just the droid incredible and the droid 2 please

  • can you compare droid 2 to the samsung epic 4g

  • When you were comparing the two and speed saying that droid x seems faster, eating your words, i think it was because the droid x was running live wallpaper whereas the droid 2 wasn't. So you still may be right

  • Comment removed

  • does droid 2 have global capablities? I know the X and incredible dont work aboad.

  • DROID X

  • Droid X!!

  • i think that there needs to be clarification in your video.

battery life: dx is 8 hrs talk, d2 9.5 hrs talk .dx has 3 microphones, d2 has 2. d2 is basically a droid 1, but with the same processor as the dx, and the updated 2.2.

d2 has quick office (view docs), dx does not.

anyhow at the same price, your getting your money's worth with the newer technology hardware-wise...droid x. not to mention a bigger screen for enjoying adobe flash 10.1.

  • Droid X kicks steve jobs iphones ass all the way back to China where they belong with the rest of the fake no good shit.

  • @zollotech I'm in a pickle. LOL. I dont like the physical QWERTY, but the DROID X is a bit too big. Any other options?

  • @RealAppleFan Droid Incredible.

  • @RealAppleFan get the htc droid incredible then

  • The braking point for me is the physical keyboard and a big screen. It's a tough decision!

  • To edit or create documents, I think the physical keyboard is better because you'll get the full screen to see what you had written; but for multimedia, the big screen is the way to go.

  • Do you think the iphone will come to verizon in 2011 but if not then i guess il be getting a android phone.

  • so camera and screen are only... n everything else is the same?! so matter of taste n need!

  • i would say droid x

  • Droid 2 is a low end phone. Dorid X is the best

  • @SouthFacedWindows why do you say it's low end? It's a very solid phone with great call quality and with Froyo it blazes. Having said that, I bought the Droid X.
