I was waiting at the luggage arrival belt at the airport this one time when I saw a bag that looked exactly like mine, so when it comes up I take it up and then some guy is like"what are you doing with my bag". I freaked and then said I thought it was mine. LOL fun times.
Holy shit this guy is a moron / Jewbag deluxe that only seems to spend money on time effective solutions without worrying about his wallet (Most likely the money he's been saving from being a grubby douche his whole life). I work at a shipping center that include services by USPS, FedEx and DHL. Shipping costs are higher than ever right now due to oil prices and shipping a heavy 30 to 40 pound bag across the country will be MUCH MUCH more than 40 dollars. More in the 100's range. I've had a bad run of luck. The past six times I've traveled and checked bags, they have lost my luggage, and once included a military funeral where I was an escort. The airline lost my bag containing my uniform. It was a huge nutroll.
Now, I usually mail a box of clothes friends or family where I'll be staying, or to the hotel, but they usually only do this after I've made a reservation. Besides, I rather like not schlepping a suitcase. I'd rather mail a box.
this guy talks as if all baggage you check in is automaticly shredded up. I usually fly from manchester (UK) to alicante (Spain), and for the price it would cost to transport me and my familys luggage, we could have purchased tickets on a low cost airliner, and had our luggage on there.
@electrogeek77 About 1-1.5% was at least temporarily lost-a lot depends upon teh airline. To ryonni123, international is a different kettle of fish than domestic.
and not only that but airline companies are now charging the cargo luggage so its tru do the math and see which one is a benefit American Airlines charges 15 dollars for each cargo bag from my last trip,
Flying in the US is a different experience. One time my flight was late and I was unable to board my connecting flight. But there was enough time to put my checked bag on board. Another time, my first flight arrived early, but my bag never came with me on my connecting flight. I understand why Americans have oversized carry-on baggage and it take 30mins to load a 737 when most other countries achieve this in 30 minutes.
This is fine for domestic flights, but international shipping is almost always going to cost more. If I tried to ship my bag from the US to NZ I could replace everything in my bag for the cost of the shipping!
What happens if your luggage makes it to the destination, but YOUR plane goes down? Technically, is that considered "lost," "abandoned," or "unclaimed" luggage," and if so, who's authorized to file a claim?
So, if its a holiday or the weekend and they don't deliver, and you had an accident in your clothes, and no extra clothes, you'll be running around bare naked.
I agree with him that it will sure save some time but if you want to be on the safe side, take a small carry on bag with you, supplying a few days of clothing, labtop, magazines, books, teeth accessories.
You guys must have some serious problems with lost luggage over in the US, I fly 20-30 flights a year and have never lost anything, neither have any of my friemds, colleagues or family members....also to Fed-Ex a 20kg suitcase would cost more than my airfare.
I think there is just a lot of paranoia about it, I have met very few people whose luggage has been lost and when it was it was recovered very quickly.
There are a lot of people who won't label their luggage and who don't follow procedures properly either which can cause delays in getting luggage where it is supposed to go.
3 days in the US is the likely time for fast delivery. depends how much you want to pay. Expect to pay upwards of $100/bag for 2-3 days or less if you want it there in a week.
okay, every tip was good except the part about not checking bags. the pigs i see on airplanes take up 2 or three more overhead bins they they should because they put suitcases up there. i cannot use my own compartment bc some asshole pig put hid thing there. yes, if you do this, your an asshole, burn in hell, bitch.
That's not what he's saying in the video. He's suggesting using alternative services that will carry your luggage instead of having them on the plane. Also, airlines won't let you bring carry on bags if they're larger than a certain size. The compartments are designed to accommodate one bag at a certain size per rider per aisle.

Here's a sure fire way to not lose your bag.. don't check one. Don't ship one. Pack less and carry-on. You can thank me later.

I'm curious, how much of all baggage checked got lost in the last year?
electrogeek77 2 years ago
Also, not to sound snotty, but in my experience, I've had more issues with delivery services than I've had with checked baggage.

Brilliant, but I would worry about my bags making it there by the time I did, I mean, how early would I have to mail my luggage?
