Every little bit of training helps. What really helped me was after taking a few voice lessons I got into Contemporary Christian and Christian Rock. It finally dawned on me about the techniques the teacher was trying to teach me and therefore applying what I learned singing that kind of music helped me to become a better singer all around. But you cannot pretend peoople sing in your key. Too many people get into youtube and can think it is correct DONT..it is not..sorry it is just my opinion. Be careful people with hurt your vocal cords!! doing exercises you cannot and you need just a teacher closer.

Sorry my last two post were lengthy, but I'm truly passionate about this and I only want to help people achieve their maximum potential. Listening to this type of advice is not the way. The best way is to study with someone who has achieved degrees in vocal studies.

I'm not sure why this video was sent to me :) but I will comment. I think his intention of wanting to teach through solfege is noble, but his comments on singing are just wrong. You can't take the breath away and still sing. That's like telling a brass or wind (instrument) player to play with no breath. We (singers) are wind instruments. Air has to pass through the vocal folds to create vibration and therefore sound and actually you the rate at which the air passes through the vocal folds

needs to increase in order for the pitch to sound higher. "Breathiness" that he tells you to try to achieve is NOT healthy for your vocal folds. Did you know that when you whisper you are temporarily paralyzing your vocal folds? Can you imagine actually singing like that? It's just not healthy. I'm not trying to say I know everything, but I am studying at a University and reading all kinds of vocal books that I agree with. The authors actually study and examine the voice.

Your voice is beautifull man, it truly is, but honestly the voice you have is like a freak accident in the human genetic line considering that its extremely rare. im sorry but you cannot ask people continue singing in your key..cos there are too many with differents key so, they can think they cannot sing well just because they dont do it correctly...So first, you have to give lessons to students in person looking for the exactly tune and key..

I suppose you mean some may have difficulty singing in my "range" -- but that's why you have the option to transpose this by an octave into the comfortable part of your own range. @donnashow2004 Erm. I believe you mean range. And nobody expects to be in the exact same range as the singer they are imitating, most just change the notes by an octave or 2 to fit their range and it fits the same.
