In Europe almost all countries drive on the right side. The Exceptions are United Kingdom and I guess Ireland as well. In the Netherlands (were we are from) and Poland it right driving. When we tour UK we have to watch out, but after a while you get used to it.
Thanks for the peek at what you do between performances. Why were you guys picking on Selena? Dragging the tempo? She's almost perfect in every way. You're my favorite trombone player in the whole world, Selena. and I like your singing a lot, too. You're a lucky man, Bert. I've always been told not to look at the trombone players because it only encourages them. Is that true? Lielian, you're looking prettier than ever. All of you are terrific musicians and very entertaining. Great stuff..
We were not really picking. These kinds of things happen while on the road. Only a fraction happens to be on tape.
As you hear we were playing our new CD, the recordings were available to us for the first time. Selena, who is very critical about herself, thought she slowed down a fraction on one 2 bar break. She asked if it were true. We don't lie then.
We were more making fun then serious, Michel never sold his pasport, we in fact never went through Berlin!
Thanks for the reply. No worries. yes, i could tell it was good natured ribbing. = as is my commenting about it.. The compliments are given sincerely though.
hahaha wat un mafkees :D

Are you guys driving on the right side of the road? I guess I'm used to seeing British drive on the left. Who knew?

It was 1400 km, (900 miles) to travel, so there was a lot of time to kill! And besides that, the roads in Poland are not exactly highroads......
ABrandsma 2 years ago
did you do any polkas while in Poland?
I'm very hard on myself as well. Selena, you're doing a great job. :-)
Koos, keep going on banjo and live strong.
Michael, great solos and stay away from the same solo introductions. (same 2 bars for each solo intro.)
Lielan, great job, you're always keeping the beat of the band, being the "backbone" so to speak.
Bert, wonderful playing as usual.

Selena is very, very critical esp. about herself. But that's also the reason why she is playing at that awesome level.
You know, this is more fun than serious. Hope you understand.
Kind regards,
Bert Brandsma

Too cooI! I may need to learn Dutch though! If you visited from the US, is there enough English speakers to get by?
MikesTreasures 2 years ago
Yes, in the Netherlands we all learn English at school. Our trumpet player even lived 2 years in Birmingham, UK.
So there is no language problem.
Thanks for watching,

I couldn't understand a word, but I'm sure it was a good time.
The music, as always, sounds wonderful.

Maybe it's not so bad you didn't understand..... haha

I made subtitles for the first part!

Very cool, thank you.
They spelled "Festival" wrong on the banner.
Haha :-)

Yes, I'll explain it the next time.....
I found someone who helped with translation of the Polish words. So you can see that as well now. The rest of the Dutch will follow later.
