in order to print the final render as a photo its really simple. go down to "image" in the bottom left corner while your in the render and just select "save-as image" or you can just press f3
I'm not sure if this was mentioned in the comments yet, but using "cd %appdata%" from the command line is a much better option. For one thing, it works with Windows XP as well as Vista/7 (XP uses a much different folder structure for user profiles). It will also put you in the right path regardless of where your roaming application data directory is (it can be easily changed in Vista/7 by right-clicking).
@Spectere Additionally, in 7 (and possibly Vista) you can easily open the command prompt on a folder by shift-right-clicking (yep, try figuring that one out :| ) on the folder and selecting "open command window here." There is also a PowerToy for XP called "CmdHere" (a.k.a. "Open Command Window Here") that provides the same functionality for XP, sans the strange shift-right-click action.
@crimsongarth He probably changed it either with filters in Audacity or any other audio program, or he has a better mic then you :p A lot of cheap mics just have a piece of plastic as the mic on the front, but some others have some kind of noise filter thing out of foam (?) on top of it, like I do. And other people have dedicated stations and recording mics, like in a radio station.
@crimsongarth In addition to what @TheKyshu said, if you're recording with an onboard sound card you can get a lot of electrical noise due to the sound hardware being so close to noisy motherboard components.
At the very least you'll want a USB microphone (even something like a Rock Band mic would probably give better results than using a standard mic with onboard sound). Ideally, you'll want a good mic and sound card, though that can get pricey depending on what you go with.
not sure about the new blender, but you used to be able to mid click on the edge of the 3d area, and make a second 3d view, which you could then change to camera view, i think with the number pad. makes it easier to see where the camera is at, then you dont have to wait to see if you have a correct angle by test rendering.
The tutorial is great, but I just have a question: How do I add MC textures to it, so it looks like a real colorful map? I get a nice white-black picture. But I'm sure it looks better with colors and real minecraft blocks. Please help me!
I have the full versions of maya 2011 and 3ds max 2012. (to me) Blender has a better interface, is much quicker to use, easy to learn, and has all the same crap as the thousand dollar software. And it's free. GO BLENDER!
and crimsongarth, you can take a screenshot in blender (print screen key on keyboard), in minecraft (f2, use f1 to get rid of player crap), and you can RENDER the final product (software feature in Blender).
to save you render from bender in the render window theres a tab that says "image" then "save image as" then it comes up with a save derectory, the rest is simple. . hope that helps :D
TIP: You can get to the .minecraft folder (C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\.minecrat) quickly in cmd by typing "cd %appdata%\.minecraft" without the " " of corse :) If you type it into the run window it will open the .minecraft folder in explorer.
@MrC7k In-game screenshots will never look this good because minecraft has to make hundreds of frames a minute where as blender has around a minute to render one frame which means they can make it look ALOT beyter
It's way easier to press F2 in the game and go to the screenshots folder (located in the .minecraft folder) and send it to whoever you want to show it to.
i think normal minecraft looks better. becose you can move and take movies. here you can only take screenshots (or not?). and it takes I think FOREVER to finely háve one screenshot. in minecraft it go's much faster and it is much more flexible
if you wanna render it, just go to the Camera Symbol, and click set your properties. (change the output to the Folder you want) and just click Image (then its in your output folder.
-press numpad 0 - you got a view from a camera perspective
-now, pressing g or r, you can select move mode or rotation mode - both affecting selected object, here: camera.
That way, you can set scene much faster and more precisely than moving and rotating the camera and then rendering the scene every time. Also, you'd like to increase the size of rendered image in render properties to 100%, and maybe disable raytracing for faster rendering

A little tip to save you some time, instead of browsing for a directory in the Command Prompt, just go to the directory you want Command Prompt to target, for example your Minecraft save files folder, hold the "Shift" key, and then right-click somewhere in the folder window (Windows Explorer). If you did it correctly and held the "Shift" key, you will have an option that says, "Open command window here" when you right-click, click on that option, and CMD will be auto targeted for you.
In my mind this is the most difficult looking thing ever. Know some of you might disagree but I'm not too computer smart, as a matter a fact I thought that installing a texture pack was confusing at first lol so ya
Quick tip: To center the origin point to the center of the mesh, select your mesh, go to 'Object' on the bottom panel in the 3D view window, then select Transform --> Origin to Geometry.
