mmm, 2007 SW Missouri was like that. I think we accumulated 3+ in. or more, then again. Seems wherever I am, ice storms follow. NW Arkansas last year, gotta love the elevation factors.

Oh man, this reminds me of the ice storm we had in Ohio a couple years ago. Everything was coated top to bottom in ice, and no one had power.

We've had 3 of these ice storms in Kentucky recently, one in the 90s, and 2 in the 2000s. Causes millions of $ in tree damage and takes about a weeks to get power back up. I've seen feet upon feet of snow but its never as bad as ice.

Well I would have to say that I was right about the power going out last night, About two to three hours after I left my last comment on here the power line that I said was sitting next to my window ....It went at about 1:45am Boy that sucked too

I moved from the North East, grew up on Long Island NY, lived in NJ, and then Eastern Pa before coming to Texas in 1991.

The USDA's planting zone map has North Central Texas in the same temperature zone as Long Island. It can get into the teen's here. Texas just does not have the long solid, below freezing, period that Long Island NY does.

I like to think of is as - Texas has just enough Winter to remind people not to move back North.

@Bluestorm5 Yep. Right now in Hope Mills, it snowed when I went to sleep. Later, I woke up, took a look outside, and it had snowed. I went back to sleep, then I woke up again and went outside. The snow had melted then refroze as ice. Later, there was more freezing rain and the ice got so hard and thick that my feet never touched solid ground. To top it all off, it's supposed to snow again tomorrow.

really? well in my area, it not supposed to snow again but everything is snow and ice even road are icy (about an 1/2 inch of ice on road) and it hard to believe because it was 65 degrees two days before storm

Looks like OK got what we did last year, bout this same time too. Didnt have power for 7 days. We expected it to really let go last night, but it turned to snow instead of freezing rain.

Tennessee is going to get hit by the storm! Here in Memphis, we will get ice,then we'll get 3-6 inches of snow! I might have some video of the storm as soon as today or as late as Monday!

Down here in Loving Texas, 98º 28' 35" W 33º 13' 32" N elevation 386m, this storm dropped in excess of 2" of rain during the day. We were clipped by the northern edge of a line of severe thunder storms. As I type this, the temperature is 38ºF with a NWS forecast low expected to drop down to 30ºF. Not as bad as Reed showed in the video for central Oklahoma.
