I already tried out nuskyn on the 3 drums

but I wasn't satisfied because I prefer the touch and warmth of animal skins.

I found an interesting balance in putting a nuskyn on the quinto

and animal skins on the conga and the tumba.

Just to a piece to chew on for you brother. If you lime the warmth of the animal hide than you might try untreated hide. The LP hides are very bad compared to a natural hide. If you have the newer LP's you probably have water buffalo hide and that is even worse. you can get a full cow hide for $80 dollars or rounds for $25-35.. Bull hide is a little more. I have all my shells skin with the natural and the sound twice the their size. Take care brother...

It is right that the style is very similar with FF and it is because this piece I am plalying is in homage to Miguel FIANNACA.

You will find this piece in the volume 3 of my books under the title 'St SAUVES' pages 114 and 115 (CARISCH MUSICOM Editions).

I am playing on the video 8 bars in introduction then the St Sauves piece.
