if at a part in this fantastic synth riff you could move it up 2 or 3 octaves and have a drum and high synth break, that would be dope. i made a riff that sound like that and thats what i did
Hey man im wanting to learn to play a synth for a band i plan on bringing together, do you think this would be a good choice? im wanting to play something like the band attack attack! but not sure if this would be the right one to get to play the type of music that they do
I think the micron is the better choice in the long run. Sure, you have to invest some work to get the sounds you want, but the sound engine on the micron is more powerful and the full size keys are definitely an advantage. Im not saying the microkorg is a bad synth, but I found the keys too small for my taste. Then again, I'm also a guitarist and my hands are comparatively large, so a fullsize keyboard is more comfortable, at least for me
hey dude, just wondering I want to get into music production, as Im just a dj at the moment, I will be using apple logic - woulf that go well with that music production software? and be hooked up to a mac?
yeah this can be hooked up to probably any computer with the right cables and all that. i have an external driver that accepts a midi input so that works...as far as your music production, the only downside to the micron is the drum pads and as a dj that would be one of your most important assets. aside from that its a very versatile keyboard but i would recommend looking into some kind of groove box to go along with this and you'll be all set
@vinSTRATtage I didnt think you could control layers on the micron trhough midi without some effort? Isn't the micron more of a "live" instrument in that regard?
thanks for the comments everyone...yeah this setup is fairly basic. i didnt use anything besides the micron to put it together. most people would be surprised with what you can do with it right out of the box. i try to keep it clean when it comes to making this kind of music but in my setup at home i use this with a yamaha portable keyboard (just for the pretty decent strings sounds it gets) and ofcourse my guitar, which is the main instrument i play.
Here's a question... How did you get the coffee cup exactly? i'm guessing you had a fast LFO with amount sent to an XYZ knob but i thought you couldn't control FX amounts?
you need to do this on a web cam so that i can tell what you're doing... i've had mine for about a month and i'm still figuring it out but this might be the best demo ive heard
Impressive, but Im not a fan of the hip-hoppy beats of Alesis fame. I'd really like to hear some aggressive soft synths but apparently micron users prefer rap
that may be true, but ive played both micron and microkorg and honestly the presets on the microkorg are ONLY good for rap and techno. micron has a lot of good rock or jazzfusion oriented presets.
