I just got an '84, i heard the tranny fluid can be bad? is this true?

@CapnRandom I don't think the fluid is the problem. Just keep checking and changing it. Transmission is an Alfa problem in general. My old 86 had a slight prob when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear...

@helgesmutter by slight prob, do you mean it was just harder to shift, or sometimes it wouldn't catch.. or what? haha sorry, i'm only 16 and trying to make sure i can get the most outta this car.

@CapnRandom Yes just harder to shift. Also the prob with the first gear in almost all old Alfas, first gear is hard to put in. Shift to second, then first gear! Italian special ;-)

Ja, da wird einem warm ums Herz. Die guten alten Motoren, der Auspuff mehr Rohr als Topf und vielleicht zur besseren Beatmung die offenen "Pilze" montiert. Zum Glück wird es ja bald Sommer :o). Allen Alfisti eine schöne Saison 2010 !
