  • mine does the same thing just not as load. it concerns me a lot

  • @brandon184839 must fix it ASAP or you will have to spend a couple hundreds man

  • @eljoelin i dont know what it is though

  • im hoping youll respond to this, my 400 has slowly been gettin louder and louder making that same exact noise. did yours smoke when you gave it gas at all?

  • @offroadram20001 there is a problem with your cam chain man i recomend you stop using your quad or else it will go out of time and the piston is gonna crash the valves, the adjustment is behind the cylinder on the right side, by the exhaust headers. mine didnt smoke! you might have to buy new piston rings to fix that... hope this helps!!

  • have you checked the stock decompressor mechanism on the cam shaft?

  • timing chain streached replace it asap, mine was doing the same thing

  • its the rocker arm !!!

  • head gasket leek mine has the same problem check and c if there's any air blowing out of the cylinder

  • that sounds rly bad. i friend my hole top end my valves snapped piston cracked. cam bearing fell apart when we got them out. cracked the head. it was bad

  • my yfz was making the same noise and it was the timing chain, it was stretch out.

  • sounds like cam chain

  • sounds like a problem with the header pipes to me..

  • timing chain and timing chain guides

  • check ur oil , check the timing chain, and adjust the valves and while ur at it check the piston against the cylinder wall if you can see any gap at all get new rings

  • i think the exhaust is broken or there is not oil

  • its your gonkulator

  • Mine made same noise believe it was the sloppy chain and or the decompressor on the stock cam i have stage 2 hotcam and new chain installed and sounds like new

  • it sounded like the piston hits the cilynder head :( maybe you forget to put on gaskets?

  • sound gay

    check out mine

cracked piston also u broke ur time chain

come check out my trx400ex and tell wat u do u think

  • timing chain or whatever mine did that to then got the engine rebuilt

  • That might be the sound of its time for a new quad lol

  • honda never dis my friend has a 84 big red 250 2 stroke and t runs like it just came out of the shop

  • @stickfishy big reds were only made as 4 srtokes my freind the 250r is the only 2 stroke next time know what u are talking about before u run your mouth

  • Do please let me know what you find out though. I do think my chain will need doing after another season or so.

  • i took it to the local honda dealer, turns out it was the cam chain, the time chain broke, the piston crushed my valves, luckly the piston didnt brake lol

  • i was going to say replace your cam chain and adj. your valves lol....i would have been right...if you found out faster it would have saved you about 600 lol....if not more

  • i dont recomend you keep riding or else the same thing will happen to your quad man!

  • Geez!!!! Yours sounds way worse than mine. Same sort of sound but way worse.

I had planned in advance to have mine listened to by a professional. But I did a little tuning and it stopped. Then I heard it again before I canceled. So I took it in and nothing, no sound. Turned the idle down, let it sit overnight and it did it. He thought it was the cam chain. I think it's nothing on mine yet... just slack plus additional slack at low idle. I could lay a finger on the throttle and make it stop.

  • you ca chains loose and or your valves are bad need to recut and reaseat em

  • HEY DUM FUCK MABEY NEXT TIME DONT RIDE IT WITH OUT UR ARRESTOR Off i got a 400ex yay im retarted yay i shouldnt be ridin yay, that u

  • sounds gay with it

  • How are your muffler bearings? Did you remember to gap the oil and take the summer air out of the tires and put in winter air? Maybe your power band is worn out. Im just kidding. Actually your timing chain has stretched past its useable limit. The noise you hear is the slack in the chain slaping your chain guides. If you dont take care of that you WILL jump a tooth on the cam which means your piston will hit your valves. That means more money to fix.

  • damn hahaa i ignored that noise and kept riding, last week it got wrecked. now its being fixed, i hope the piston didnt smash the valves, thx 4 your comment...

  • fuck yah dude that happened to my little xr80 that i fuck around on smashed my valves piston cracked and then my timein chain sprocket was de stroid

  • @jerzgirl514 actually there are muffler bearings that aint a joke its the little gasket thing on the headers where they meet the head and also where the stock muffler joins the headers

  • u are either detonating the cylinder or hole in the ehaust most likely detonating

  • you gotta get that fixed mine had that two and i just left it but turns out it skipped a tooth on the cam and my piston smashed my exhaust valves

  • yes i will get that fixed as soon as i can but did u fix your quad? if you did how much did you have to pay?

  • cracked piston

  • yea im in the process now i had to get all new valves and shit and i got a 440 kit its costin me like 700 only cause i got a friend to do it all for me but if anything prob round 1000

  • do you beat to hell ?

  • yeeaa...i still ride with this noise, what do u think this noise is?

  • not sure but it could be your valves that need adjusment or a bearing

  • exhaust valve? thats my guess

  • sounds like a bearing to me

  • thanks for ur comment i went to the local honda dealer and they said it might be the time chain

  • either way it probably wont be cheap.
