I remember this movie being laughed at by critics and by moviegoers, (not kids like me but grown ups,) and this could have all been avoided had Disney not done one little thing when promoting it:
THEY NEVER SHOULD HAVE PUSHED FOR AN "R-RATING"!!!
Any attempt on Disney's part to get an 'R' was guaranteed to be laughed out of theatres because they had a 50 year old brand that was geared to kids. This movie was visually stunning and was fine on it's own merit and didn't need a few "damn"s to sell
I love this movie, even though it does have plenty of goofy flaws it's still a really good Disney movie, to my opinion. But hey, this video is one of the very first ones I remember seeing when I first visited YouTube in my entire life since 2006. Are you going to re-upload this video in case it gets deleted when you get suspended soon? I love this video too. 5/5
@cruiseshipz Feel free to get it. Although I do not foresee them removing it anytime soon. It doesn't contain any Disney Footage or Political messages.Although, They,(NWO/Illuminati) are planning a Digital 9/11 which will shut down the internet for a period of time. They (The Main Stream Media) will spin it like "It's a good thing" to keep us safe and for Homeland Security. Meanwhile, internet 2 will restrict free speech and be completely taken over by the Establishment and regulated. infowars
@Gorgo I see, but wait a minute, are you saying that the internet is going to be shut down completely by 9-11-11 (10th anniversary of the attack)? How did you know about this prediction?
@cruiseshipz No I'm not predicting anything. Just going by what I hear from Alternative media and what politicians are saying over the last several months.
I know how Rockefellers and NWO are. They will exploit any crisis they can. Like those shootings last week.
Don't take my word for it. Google search what I'm telling you. Check out a few Alex Jones films.
Why do you think Max wanted to kill Reinhardt? What makes you believe that, except for Reinhardt's bullshit "Protect me from Maximillian?" to Kate? That was obviously false.
Why would Reinhardt give anyone any kind of power that he could not control completely?
Maximilian was really the only thing I liked about "Black Hole"! Sorry, BH fans, all two of ya!! :o) Maximilian gives me a great idea for a robot in a story I'd like to do...
do you mean those plastic things that shrank in the oven? great. i collected lolly wrappers when i was a kid. i had a black hole one amongst star wars, mr men, little imps etc. still got em in the loft!!
Thanks for using your creativity to make such a great sequence of a wonderful movie. Who can forget the opening titles with the translucent music and CGI wireframe sequence?
It was one of my favorate movies growing up. Especially the century robots with the animated sparks...to bad they never made a decent figure of one of those.I like the opening scenes as well...I believe they called those Vector graphics (wire-frame). Those were cool. Video games in those days used them alot..
Its a throwback to the earlier "Dante's Inferno" line. The whole irony thing. I still think Reindhardt imprisoned the mind of Kate's father in Max. Now Hans has to live the way he forced Frank McCrae to.
Yes, exactly. I feel that's Frank too. Reinhardt was terrified of Max and Max clearly hated Hans and wanted to kill him. But it seemed some sort of programming was holding him back from actually doing it. No one's gonna program a robot with a personality to want to kill it's maker. So it wouldnt be unreasonable to assume Hans had done something to Max to enrage him this much.
I imagine Hans built Max as an enforcer and when Frank figured out Hans was interested in conquest, Hans had Max and the Sentries gun the entire crew down and Max kill frank personally. Hans then made the Humanoids and placed Franks brain inside Max as an interface to control them.
Hans loaded Max down with tons of failsafe programming n oreder to protet himself. That would explain why Maximillian would want to kill him. Being forced to asault his daughter gave Frank the emotional shock to override his programming and kill Hans himself. Hans later took Franks place inside the robot as Franks spirit moved on to peace and Hans started his eternal reign over subjects that ignore him. Fitting.
Too bad the same thing can't be said about your charm school.
Really now, there's no need to be an ass about something that wasn't adressed to or about you. I admit I made some oversights but that's simply part of being human. Not that you have any concept what it's like.
Sorry, man, but that makes no sense at all. Why would you put the brain of the guy who was your opposition in the body of a huge killer robot? Why would the guy most likely to want to stop Reinhart prevent the robot from doing so?
I make perfect sense. Because the crew only followed Frank. Notice the Humanoid wouldnt respond to Reinhardt? So Hans put his brain into Max so he could have an interface with the crew. Then he programmed a ton of failsafes to hold Max back from killing him. Reinhardt was arrogant enough to think he could control him, but apparently
its like OCP putting that fourth protocol into Robocop.
Max wanted Reinhardt dead. Reainhardt begged for protection. Now why would a man obsessed with Control program his right hand man to want to kill him? Max has to have had a reason, right? The Humanoids won't respond to Hans. His crew tried to commit mutiny and that Angel has to be somebody, plus we see that Maximillian CAN hold a soul within him. Think outside the box a little and use some imagination, man.

@graybeard1000 Thanks, I was just learning Adobe After Effects when I did this.
I always liked Max and Vincent. Brings back 70's childhood memories. Ahh the 70's/80's pop culture.

Yeah,Disney's attempt to compete with Starwars. It's Okay.
I was 4 or 5 when it came out. Yes,I agree,Crap, but good crap.
It gets a high rating on the Cheeze-o-meter. It was something about Max,Vincent,S.T.A.R. and Old BOB I liked.
Funny how the Sentry Robots had a very Darth Vader design to the face. The Space scenes looked kinda cool.

When i see for first time this movie i was 8yo
and for that time of 80s was very cool movie to watch, but after all that years, you realise at the age of 32 that movie was a crap =D

Maximillion gave me nightmares when I was a kid. I'm glad that his burned out chassis is roasting in the pit of hell.
Hmmm....maybe there's still some old feelings there.

THE BLACK HOLE ! Maybe You were never exposed to it...
Disney did a Sci-fi to compete with Star Wars back in the 70's. Max, the Red one...is a model and Vincent is a modified action figure.

My biggest issue with the Black Hole was Max chopping up Norman Bates
with those blades....but not a drop of blood...seems to me Dr. Kate would've been misted in a a red shower.... I Know...it's Disney ...

No chroma key. Photoshop , Adobe After Effects,Live type
I cut out the frames of the robots. It's time consuming. I don't have the proper chroma color/paper to do Chroma key effectively.
The edges "always" seems to be to jagity with that.

Maximillian scared the hell out of me when I saw the film the first time xD

What creeped me out about this film was the ending, how the guy was doomed to live in hell shelled in by Max, kinda purgitory like.

I agree. I also think the "ghost" you see flying down the hall at the end of the movie is indeed Frank McCrae.
