Hmmm....trust Chrysler to "ghetto-ize" a perfectly good car. I wouldn't want it "Moparized." I rented a straight 500 and loved it as is. I don't really want any Chrysler cooties on my Fiat.
I don't understand. for people that don't like the car. who is twisting your arm to buy it. You're so narrow minded that can't enjoy the beauty in this car. BTW Jay Leno owns one of these and has a collection of cars.
It sounds like they're trying to turn it into another Mini, with all these costly accessories. I don't consider that a good thing, considering Mopar's history of GOUGING everything new they touch. Like the early PT Cruisers, the Prowler, and the Magnum. The later two died cause of sticker gouging and the Cruiser only gained a larger market appeal after the price was adjusted. At this point, the only thing keeping down the cost of the 500 is the Fiesta, which starts at couple grand less.
Like it or not people this kind of car is the future...believe me or not this is the only type of car youll see on the road in 10 years...Think ahead what will the cost of 1 gallon of gas be in 10 years from now..All it takes is another major crissis and were paying 10 dollars plus a gallon over night...So 10 years from now it will be down right pathetic..Only the rich will beable to afford gas when it will cost 500 bucks for a fill up...Sound stupid but does it.
@compukenny It doesn't cost that much. I priced one recently at just over 15,000 and it goes like a bat out of hell. I loved the car and am seriously thinking of getting one. San Diego to Northridge = 150 miles...on Labor Day I made the trip in less than one hour and forty minutes. And it cost me about 30 bucks in gas round trip, including three days driving around IN San Diego.
@compukenny ... which will corner like a dog on rollerskates, consume a small OPEC nation's entire oil reserve in a week and kill either you or the other guy in a crash (roulette, anyone?) ... this is assuming it isn't broken sown of course.
Yeah a full size car or sedan and being like the most of the other people soooooo boring and almost impossible to find your ride at the mall lot.... or maybe You are not the target of this kind of car; I dont mind about space or price but I want to be diferent!! and this is diferent and cheap so torch all the borring Toyotas!!
I expect Al Capone coming out of that quasi Italia-American turd any minute. Chrysler please don't embarrass America with these underpowered and to small "cars"... Europe fine, maybe China and India, The good ol' USA? NO
@CDTbossy. What's better a Smart car or a 500?. This car isn't that underpowered. Has 100hp and there will be various performance models of it. There's even a 250hp version out there, this is going to kill the mini.
@TomazHilton Yeah, it is way better than a smart car, but my point is, in this car you will feel every bump in the road, the high speeds of American highways are best enjoyed in a bigger car, people will hate this car after a few years just as they did with the smart and Mini, American goes like "bring us small cars!" when they get them they are like "These sucks, so slow, ugly and uncomfortable". Face it, some cars doesn't work for US, such as big American SUV's doesn't work in some of Europe.
I was expecting a lip kit or carbon covers Mopar need to make a real effort and Fiat USA to bring us the Punto Abarth!!!

Niche car at best. 3 years of decent sales in this country at best. At 20 grand I can buy a full size American Car.
