I have a suzuki king quad 400 2008 all stock and it drives very well through deep snow. I was worried the first time, but man does it just plow right through the deepest snow without a problem. Even in 2wd
@p700rider I can't wait to have my son with his own 4wheeler. I keep thinking of the Youth Rzr. Might be a blast for him in summer. Agree - these are perfect year around machines!
Polaris isn't made to be treated rough. There fast, but coming to abuse, weak. I have a cousin who owns a 500 Polaris, father with a 400 Yamaha Kodiak, a friend with a 500 Honda Foretrax, and I own a 200 Honda Big Red.
We all take the bikes through the same stuff including muddy mash, rough woods trails, hauling heavy loads of firewood, snow, water, etc.
Out of all 4 bikes, the Polaris breaks down far more often then any other. Yearly even, Polaris can't go one good winter without breakdowns
True that! I need a winch though, last year i got stuck for hours and hours at a time. 4 feet deep powder is not good to get stuck in. You also have to get rid of the stock tires if you want to go in any type of good snow. Terra Cross and Mut Lites are the best
it doesn't matter what kind of atv u have when the snow gets to deep it will stop any bike i get stuck with my cat all the time and it have 12'of ground clearance
well. i am a honda owner. and that being said, i have had nothing but bad experiances with their customer support and dealerships. multiple recalls. parts wearing out FAR sooner than they should. honda genuine aftermarket parts not fitting properly. and overall the machine did not perform very well at all. underpowered, over weighted. too narrow when stock.
although, they are built like tanks. but when somthing breaks (which it most likely will at some point) parts are VERY expensive.
i would like to hear your side of this discussion, and i am willing to bet that what you will say is VERY tipical of a brand fanboy, somone who thinks like, "i own it so its the best thing in the world and everything thats not it sucks".
well the parts should not wear down. hondas are heavy b/c they are stronger do to the frame and subframe dose not crack like others, other than that you are the only one i know who has a honda that dosent like them
i live in ireland and we dnt get much snow but just 3 days ago we did i got my trx 450 and it was Frekin awsome I wish i got the snow like you guys do !! ! !!
Yea i love riding my atv in the snow. Surprisly my honda does really well in it. I love drifting and stuff with atv's in the snow also. I have a Honda and it works really well, i'm not going in snow as deep as you were in some parts but i still go pretty deep and it works well.
polarises are good in the snow, more weight in my opinion. i have a 700 grizz haven't had it in the winter yet but its coming up fast. also am ordering a moose plow for it. nice wheels i got no cash for that right now. ill make enough plowing with it to but some nice itp rims and tires.
It is hard to say. I think the Yamaha does really well. Most ground clearance and lighter than the Polaris. But the Polaris is a twin cyln. 800cc. Lot more power. I have the yamaha so I might be a little biased.
I own the Yamaha, but my friends Polaris does really well. The 800 is a nice engine. He does well in the snow and mud. Could do better with nicer tires.
Nice video bud i love ridin in the snow. I never knew before how important the placement of the rad and fan are until i messed mine up in a swamp. Just for a new sensor and fan it was over 300 from polaris, not including the labor that i got done by a private guy. I dont know too much about fixin them though. But nice video!
real nice vid i got a grizzly my self love it nothing stops them... let me ask u wut program did u use to edit the video ?? im lookin 4 a real good one easy to use .. thanks alot keep them commin ....
yea no dice man i aint got it on my xp nore can i find how or where to get it im a lil pissed cuz this is crap they cost like 50 or better i just got the canon hg10 an wanna make some sick movies but i cant lol .. this sucks hahaha
@p700rider godzillas are amazing in snow and mud but like 250.00 a tire

fyi I made 1 error. My uncle owns the Honda Foretrax, my friend owns a Yamaha Big Bear.
Still, point still stands. The Polaris breaks down far more often then either Honda or Yamaha.

awsomedudes12 2 years ago
Weigh the options. The polaris 850 is a VERY nice machine! At the time I went with the Yamaha - If doing it again, the 850 would win out.
spgirt 2 years ago
@awsomedudes12 Yamaha is where its at, suzuki is good too but the rest are garbage, especially honda
iwannaskate93 1 year ago
@iwannaskate93 Honda might not have the best off road capability. However the machines are damn tanks man, they know how to take a beating.
