  • Hakeem did it so well...

You have to take into account that he was a tall center!

  • Spin is necessary in case they don't go for the first fake

  • That spin was so unnecessary

  • he spins because he is practicing and pretending someone is guarding him. so he fakes out the imaginary center and spins to score easily c'mon guys it's kobe

  • GUYS, HE'S KOBE HE ALWAYS WANTS TO EMBARRASS HIS DEFENDER. poor clippers

  • To everyone saying that he needed to spin to create space: No...he didn't need to do that. He had his defenders in the air and by spinning gave them some time to come down and defend him again. Useless use of spin lol

  • @jvmst had he stayed there and shot it, he woulda been blocked by the guy on his way down. He couldn't shoot it right away or it would have been blocked. If you waited til he landed in that same spot he would have been blocked. If he spun away he creates space even though it takes up some time even if the defenders tried to block it they were too far away. Either he spins away or takes a fadeaway, and he spun away which was a smart play.

  • @supramano8 I understand using spin to create space and what he was trying to do, but in this case, in was useless. Pause at 00:13 and you'll see what I mean. As soon as he decides to spin, you can clearly see both players jumping a little AWAY from Kobe. If they had both jumped straight up, anyone should have needed to spin. Pretty sure he and a lot of people are talented enough to go up without spin there, especially with defenders leaping away a little. It was clearly useless

  • @jvmst actually if you really look at what's going on, you'll see that number 8 really doesn't move. His hips move back because he got bumped in to, but really his arms stay in the same area. Basically he's still within reach to contest that shot.

  • @supramano8 ...No dude. Number 8 definately jumps at 00:12...

  • @jvmst yeah....? and what i'm saying is he jumps and he doesn't move away from kobe like you say he did. He stays in the area within arms reach of kobe.

  • @supramano8 oh I see what you're saying. I thought you said he didn't jump at all. Even if number 8 went straight up. He went high enough and was far enough away from Kobe for Kobe to definately just go straight up. If you look at it from the second replay's perspective, you can clearly see that opportunity presented.

  • @jvmst I guess it's just hard to tell based on a video. You'd really have to, literally, be in his shoes to see what was going on. But just to say this though, it's not like he took a bad shot. That little spin may be difficult for an average person, but there was no way Kobe was going to miss that shot.

  • @supramano8 Agreed! He's is on of the greatest to ever play the game. No doubt.

  • @jvmst word.

  • rofl kobe does the worse dreamshake.

  • @luckduck32167 What are you talking about his footwork is great.

  • it was a shake, but not an amazing one.

  • This guy said Lebron would not win with the Lakers I'm done!

  • He never did it right. Not the way Hakeem used it anyways. He was just spining in place Hakeems spin moved him more not just in one standing space like Kobes.

  • KB fans don't know about dream shake.

My god, KB fans really know nothing about basketball, that's why they keep denying some obvious truth.

If you watch dream shake, Olajuwon fake and spin, his spin move create space and let him make that right handed hook shot.

But KB's spin move does nothing. He fake the defender, thats already the time to make the shot, he has space, and his spin move doesn't create space, and he doesn't need to spin to make exactly the same shot.

  • Title should be: "Hakeem's dream shake not executed properly by Kobe".

  • I must admit, I got terribly owned by this move once.

  • this is NOT a "dream shake", he literally fakes a lay up, spins in place like he is in a boy band, then puts it up. PLEASE watch the originator Hakeem do it, or even Stephen Curry..... thats what it is suppose to look like! this is laughable

  • @jhuske A pump fake isn't a dream shake either. Do YOU even know what it is?

  • hey it's Kobe Bryant's amazing..pump fake? he didn't create any space after the fake. no pivot was even required... watch hakeem do a dream shake. he could cover 6 feet in one step then completely change direction and fade. sorry but even yao's is better

  • Song name!?!?!?!?

  • Except that the Dream Shake was practically patented by Olajuwon

  • olajuwon showed him how to do it!

  • Black Mamba strikes again!

  • Not really the Dream Shake. But sick move. One of many. Kobe an Jordan both have used the actual dream shake when posting up, especially Jordan late in his career.

  • rondo does it better

    PS

    Beat la

    BEAT LA

  • Rondo

  • Lebron should work with Hakeem.... but i just dont see it happening, too stubborn. Kobe still the best

  • Pete Maravich was the first one known to do this move in a game.

  • and he had to spin because....

  • @louridah2 because its the nba with all its flash and glamour

  • @louridah2 his left foot was infront, when he spins his feet are in teh right position

  • @louridah2 Because it looked nice and he was fading away rat

  • @louridah2 bc hes kobe bryant

  • @louridah2 because then he would have been swatted no shit

  • @louridah2 because its part of the move fool

  • @louridah2 ...because #9 wouldve blocked him if he didn't reposition

  • @louridah2 cause it creates more distance....

  • @louridah2 because it was the best option. if he just went straight up with it after the fake he would have to jump akward and square up his shoulders, but the spin move takes that away

  • @louridah2 to gain space....

  • @louridah2 you create more space between you and the defender that way

  • this isnt kobes.......this is rondos

  • @guitarboy487 its hakeems

  • @monste5000 pistol pete did it first but hakeem is the one who made it a popular move

  • it's beautiful to watch something like this. pure skill, talent, focus and coordination. and then theres the 2011 bruins in the stanley cup finals... fucking idiots off the street throwing punches and getting a close to a championship.

  • hell ya am going to use this

  • LOL I never said Lebron didn't have a high basketball IQ. I just said Lebron's way behind Kobe. You never see Lebron as a true student and genius of the game; who STUDIES learns and strives to be better than he was yesterday. That's not to say, that he's not a good player, it just shows the dedication, intelligence, and brilliance that Kobe demonstrates and strives for every day. Lebron might get there some day but the signs are not too promising... i.e having to defer to the Heat to get better.

  • hakeem much?

  • And where is kobe doing the dream shake???

  • this is no dream shake, it's just a pump fake.

  • Kobe misses the buzzer beater in a crucial game and then goes 9-20 shooting thats high IQ

  • @XFOXHOUNDX1 how does that have to do with anything related to IQ?

  • @AudaciousFool HAHAH that's what I would like to know... smh

  • This is similar to his pivot move.

  • kobe didn't even need to spin then.... haha

  • stop fucking arguing about lebron and kobe, getting sick of it. Cant you just enjoy boht of them and fairly support your favorite? Little childs..

  • @pjetrs litle childs lmao

  • Kobe 5. Lebron 0. All i need to say

  • @BryanbFLYin calm down sir

  • thats baller . you can deak anyone out cuz they all fall for it. exept the crazy gud players.

  • I love this move.

  • good practice ; it helps :p

  • dream cat daddy lmao

  • I firmly believe that Lebron with this Laker team would not win jack shit, because his basketball IQ is not high enough to make the decisions that Kobe makes on the fly. Intelligence is not a stat that can be measured.

  • @rubencitorobles And you just proved that intelligence can be measured by showing how stupid you are. Lebrons basketball IQ is excellent. I'm not even a lebron fan and i recognize that.

  • @brandonzzz7 lebron has good instincts not a good bball IQ

  • @rubencitorobles kobe jacking shit up at crunch time means he has high basketball IQ? lmao

  • @monarchea Im a die hard Laker and I totally agree

  • @rubencitorobles Do you mean with IQ that most Kobe's clutch shots are air balls?

  • @theorientalpearl irrelavent

  • @rubencitorobles Are you stupid? Lebron has one of the best basketball IQ in game right now

  • @rubencitorobles i agree with you to an extent. lebron has a much higher IQ in just court vision/distributing but kobe has a very very high iq associated with scoring the ball and 1 on 1 defense. that being said i think kobe's a great passer when he's paired with a big man, where lebron is not as good

  • @rubencitorobles funny how that was 3 months ago

  • @rubencitorobles I dont know man. Lakers got swept in the 2nd round and Kobe only got 17 points in game 3 and game 4. What a true and intelligent leader. His IQ is so high he couldnt even carry the team for at least 1 victory against the mavericks. 17 points in an elimination game? You guys dont hate him for that, but all make fun of Lebron and his horrible finals performance this season? Kobe is a shot jacker and doesn't raise his teammate's level of play like Lebron does. Lebron + Lakers = GG

  • @LazyAndDumb0 you really do live up to your name dont you...

its never about points made dipshit

  • @LazyAndDumb0

lol get real. Kobe just won two championships in a row. LeBron had 2 amazing teammates and a team full of solid roleplayers and still chocked. If Kobe bryant had Dwade and Bosh as teammates he would have won another ring by now.

  • @rottenzombie27 Kobetard, lemme tell you this. Im a Lakers fan and also an NBA fan. Ive watched almost all of the Lakers game for the past 10 years. Kobe is a top 15 player of all time, but he is not what the media perceives him to be. Ive watched MJ and Kobe. KOBE is nowhere near MJ's level bro. Kobe IS A SHOTJACKER. He gets the ball and jacks up some hard and difficult shot. He has never shot over 50% in his career. If he was GOAT, why is his PER (Efficiency) so low compared to MJ/Lebron.

  • @rottenzombie27 Championships = Team achievement not individual success. If Wade and Bosh were with Kobe, Kobe would had never share the ball for wade and bosh to do their things. Lebron is TOO UNSELFISH and that's why he didnt take a lot of shots in the finals and deferred to Wade. He lost b/c he was too unselfish. When I watch the Lakers, I see kobe getting his WHOLE team out of rhythm by jacking shots up. You always see him with 30%-45% shooting in most of his games, but with 20++ shots.

  • @rottenzombie27 Its sad to see as a Laker fan that Lebron is only 26 and he is THIS GOOD already. Kobe isnt going to improve anymore and Lebron will continue to improve his game. Right now, LeBron James's career averages are better than 98% of NBA Players's best seasons. LeBron James is second all time in career Player Efficiency Rating one ranking below Michael Jordan too. All in all though, Kobe is a very good player. top 15-20 all time, HoF, but too inconsistent with his shooting.

  • @rottenzombie27 Btw, did you know the Lakers is a 91m payroll team, while Miami is 60 something lol. Kobe needed a great coach and great teammates (Pau,Lamar, etc) to win. Without Shaq, he was getting knocked out the 1st rd all the time. He wasnt loyal to the lakers (wanted a trade) and drove shaq (the most dominant force at that time) away. MJ won his 1st ring at 28. LBJ is only 26. Kobe's first 3 rings have shaq's face in them. Shaq was the leader and was carrying the team.

  • @LazyAndDumb0

I don't give a shit about payroll. I have no idea why you are bringing up Shaq. Fact is, Lebron had better teammates than Kobe this year and he still couldn;t do jack. Your boy choked in the finals. Deal with it.

This is pretty much all Lebron fans do. They just keep making up excuses for him.

    PS.

Please don't ever mention lebron james in the same sentence as michael Jordan. That is truly a disgrace to the GOAT.

  • @LazyAndDumb0 mj got a ring in 6 years lebron going on to his 9th season

  • @rubencitorobles you are very wrong. Lebron has a HUGE basketball IQ, maybe he is the best player in the league when we looks at physics and skills, but he has no balls, and that is what separates him from kobe

  • @rubencitorobles called awareness. Defensive awareness. Offensive awareness

  • @rubencitorobles what are IQ tests for then?

  • @rubencitorobles and i firmly believe kobe got swept with this laker team.

  • @datfunkyfresh so i firmly believe kobe has 5 rings

  • @tobyster01 yes he does

  • @rubencitorobles Now if Kobe just uses that basketball IQ to set up teammates instead of hogging the ball. Dude, Lebron with the Laker team would win more than with Kobe. Kobe in 2006 was like Lebron in 2004-2009, Lebron actually dragged that sorry ass team to the Finals. Kobe, even with all his greatness can't do it. What people don't get is that Kobe's a better 1 on 1 player because his offensive game is complete. Lebron's a better 5 on 5 player cuz he's willing to make the pass if needed

  • @pingtv Kobe is actually a pretty sick passer and averages a healthy amount of assists per game. Kobe does set his teammates up, he has a career average of 4.7 APG to go along with his 25.3 PPG. LeBron is definitely the better passer and has tremendous court vision, but you shouldn't say that Kobe doesn't look to get his teammates involved.

  • @blackablackaboom Kobe's problem is his team always has problem because of him.

  • @rubencitorobles thats why he is a better passer

  • @rubencitorobles And Kobe would win a bunch of rings with Lebron's old Cavs, right? you're funny.

  • Something people annoy me when they talk about "team players" is that a true team player isn't somebody that can make assists, no it has very little to do with that. A true team player is somebody that knows when an action will benefit the team vs another like taking a certain shot over passing. A true team player directs his squard on the court like a general, and nobody has a doubt who the leader is. Kobe, not Lebron is the greater team player.

  • swagga jacked

  • That was a ball fake. NOT the Dream Shake! As far as players are concerned, I'll take Manu Ginobili over Wade, lebron or Kobe!

  • @trooperjoe73 so you take Manu flopping moves any day?

  • Damn right I'll take Manu ANY DAY over Kobe, Lebron or Wade! You wanna call him on flopping? I'll call Kobe on his throwing his arms up, YELLING and getting a foul call and all his complaining to refs! Wade hurt too often, Lebron has NEVER won anything significant in his life! Manu is a WINNER, period! Check his resume' and come back and see me. No really, go check his resume'. What has Lebron or Wade done that compares to Manu? Seriously. LBJ/Wade don't belong in the same conversation.

  • @trooperjoe73 well, im just saying, manu flops so much and since im assuming you are a big spurs/manu fan, you really cant deny it. always flapping his arms and legs just to draw a foul call. it really ruins the game and the more he flops, the less respect he should get.

  • @ZoomZip I'm only just saying. Kobe draws plenty of fouls from tossing his hands around and screaming. If Manu played in a big market and was American, it would not be an issue. All the flopping talk gets bigger because that's how people want to view him. Watch some Spurs game, in their entirety, and look up his resume'. Manu has got crazy skills. Don't fall for the hype people want to keep repeating. It's like people say Kobe takes great shots with the game on the line. It's not true.

  • @trooperjoe73 Whether you are american or not, people hate floppers. Derek fisher is a flopper, Anderson varejao is a flopper. it kills the game. I am not denying that Manu has great skills. his shot, handles, dribbles, are very excellent and i respect his game. I just hate his flopping, he kicks his legs out and really tries to sell everything just for a call.

  • @ZoomZip I would understand of he were the only person that did that, but he's not. People just like to blow it up as if that's all he does. You're talking about 5% of his game. The league is filled with it. You just can't talk about one aspect of his game and disregard the rest. The guy does it all and that can't be denied. I will go back to the original point. I'd take him over Wade/LBJ, no-brainer! Over Kobe because he's a better team player, less selfish and doesn't need 30 shots!

  • @trooperjoe73 so yea lebron averaged over 8.5 assists last year, and kobe averaged just under 5. Im not denying kobe is a great player, but saying lebron isn't a teamplayer is really ignorant.

  • @trooperjoe73 You would take manu over wade lebron or kobe........... WHAT?

  • @34HakeemtheDream34 Yeah, I would. Ginobili is a winner, plain and simple. He came over late to the NBA, but the guy is a winner at every level. Check his bio and compare it to Wade/Lebron. He's a better team mate than all 3. No off court issues, EVER! Kobe? Alleged rape/Infidelity/Asshole team mate. Wade? Messy divorce/whining over media attacking heat. "The world is a better place, blah blah.." LEbron? Head case/not clutch/has NEVER won/quitter/team mates bang his mom(Allegedly)

  • @trooperjoe73 you're wilin' right now. manu is a great player, but his lack of off-court issues hardly gives a reason to take him over those bigger stars. They are all champions, whether or not they have rings. Ultimately, Kobe, LeBron, and Wade will be 1st ballot Hall of Famers. Their very human issues doesn't detract from their illustrious careers. I don't want to take away from Manu, though. Like you, I think he is a fantastic player.

  • @blackablackaboom Off court was not the only reason. The first is that he is a winner. No doubt the others have talent, but at what expense? Barkley is a Hall of Famer too, but he didn't win it all. Didn't have to either, my point is that I would pick Manu over the other 3. My personal preference. Imagine if Kobe didn't take part in the Shaq drama. Would he have more than 5 rings right now? Yes he would! However, EGO, got in his way. Manu wouldn't do that. He cares winning, period!

  • @trooperjoe73 I just can't agree that because they had drama off-court they were lesser players than Manu. Kobe, in particular, is the most dominant player of the past decade. I don't care that everyone wants to attribute his early success to Shaq and deny him those rings. Most champions had incredible teammates with them. Kareem had Magic and the Big O. Bird had Parish and McHale. This doesn't make them lesser players.

Jordan was known for being a hellish teammate but is inarguably the GOAT.

  • @blackablackaboom I agree with you. However, you missed my point. Kobe could have more rings. He doesn't because ego got in the way. His drama with Shaq could have been nothing. He has 5 rings but could have had more is my point, because he took his eyes off the prize. He didn't want rings, he wanted rings his way and that was it. MJ was a jackass, but he was a winner and wanted to win at all costs. Pippen was elite, period! Did MJ have an issue with that? Kobe wanted all the credit!

  • @blackablackaboom yeah... Kareem had Maigc, Bird had McHale, and Shaq had Kobe. Not the other way around. Shaq dominated more than Kobe ever has and he did it efficiently. Volume scoring does not make you dominant. It makes you a ball-hog, which is all Kobe was when he was scoring 81 points and 62 in 3 quarters. 30 and 15 off of 60% shooting is dominance.

  • @SolidSnakeRules I disagree. Kobe's play style defined the Lakers teams of the past half decade and he led them to multiple rings and championships. Efficiency doesn't equal dominance. Kevin Martin is one of the most efficient scorers active today, but he doesn't necessarily dominate in games. An argument could of course be made that Shaq was more dominant but I wouldn't deny that Kobe wasn't incredibly dominant as well. And Kobe was more than a ball hog; he made multiple All-Defensive teams.

  • @SolidSnakeRules I mention that to show that there is more to Kobe's game than just inefficient scoring. He is a more complete player than Shaq ever was, though it is unfair to compare across positions, and became an idol for young basketball player across America because of it. Kobe improved every weak aspect of his game since entering the league and became the leader of a historically successful franchise. It takes more than ball hogging to accomplish all this.

  • I agree that Kobe's game has matured since 2006 and I still think he's the best player in the game but he's still not nearly as good as Shaq. Yao, for instance, is a more complete player than Shaq ever was but Shaq was so good at what he did that he was much better. Being a jack of all trades isn't that great if you aren't the best at anything. MJ may not have had as good a jumpshot in his early years but his game plan was much more conducive to his abilities so he was superior.

  • @blackablackaboom

Shaq was a monster on offense side, nobody need him to be "complete". Team doesn't need that because it's team sports.

  • @trooperjoe73 I'm not saying that the rings make Kobe great. The general public needs rings to determine greatness but you and I clearly understand it takes more. You brought up Barkley. Charles also had his share of drama on and off the court. Doesn't make him less of a champion. I understand that you clearly like Manu better than the other three. I can't argue with that. I am more responding to the negative sentiment you and others pointed at Lebron, Wade, and Kobe. They are all inspirational.

  • @blackablackaboom Point taken. My point wasn't to belittle the other players, but to differentiate why I would take Manu over the others. They are all great. Intangibles matter to me and that is why I went with Manu G. It's a team game and I think he is the best of the 4. He has a passion for the game, proven winner, great team mate, is a leader, etc. There are more than one way to skin a cat. MJ (and others) have proven you don't have to be nice to be effective. If it's me, I pick Manu.

  • @trooperjoe73 I feel you. Manu is very underrated. He took statistical hits for years to be a great player off the bench for San Antonio. He is a fantastic player, and a great part of Spurs history. I can't be mad at you choosing a player of his talent and temperament.

  • rondo moves!

  • props for the beard

  • Kobe stole it from Hakeem who is the greatest at that move however Rondo today i reckon is the best at it!!!

  • kobe stole it from hakeem

  • @s8715053122004 All players stole it from hakeem

  • @s8715053122004 He didnt steal it, he got lessons from Hakeem himself. Why would he give someone lessons if he did not want them to use what he showed them?

  • Kobe is a great player, top 10 of all time, but no offense this is nothing like the Dream Shake

  • Comment removed

  • Not a Kobe fan, I actually despise the guy, but why are you other Kobe haters talking about his dick? Honestly.

  • No doubt Kobe is an amazing player, but I feel as if his variant of the 'dream shake' is a little off compared to Olajuwon's. Olajuwon just had a certain finesse to his movement.

  • more more!!

  • Ehhh, it's just not the same when Kobe does it. He was doing it well in the practice video, but the in game version just wasn't right. It was just a standard pull up pump fake with a turnaround jumper. Kobe's hands are probably too little to do it one handed like Hakeem.

  • @glazedham42 rondo!!!!!!! :D

  • congrats on pulling off a dream shake on the clippers? i was expecting more from kobe...

  • @thereg23 This isn't the only time he's used it and he still fooled 2 players on the clips with it.

  • Clippers = Owned.

  • Kobe is the best lowpost perimeter playersince MJ.

  • i like rondo's dream shake. he's better than kobe.

  • @rakistas32 - LOL!

  • @rakistas32 Rondo has bigger hands than Kobe's. He can palm the ball easier, that's why his dreamshake looks better.

  • Comment removed

  • @PCC9 actually not just his hands makes his dreamshake looks better. his quickness. unbelievable quickness. he's small tho thats why hes quick. :D

  • he is the most complete player in the nba.. complete than jordan. .

  • @Kingjulez1201 You're fucking WRONG!!!...Mj was copied Dr. j just only free throw line dunk....Whether what you said my friend, kobe's being DUMBASS!!!...

  • @000000MJ2345000000 JORDAN JOCKER ALERT JORDAN JOCKER ALERT!!! MJ did copy Dr.J this is a fact

  • @Hoopfanify For your information my friend or AMIGO ,your fact was fuckin! WRONG!!! go check it here in youtube just type [Dr. j vs Mj] and you will know what I mean...

  • @000000MJ2345000000 All that took me to was a game of Jordan playing the 76'ers in his rookie season. Iam going to take this nice and slow so you can get it. MJ was a slasher who used a variety of dunks in his game. Something Dr. J made famous. MJ was also known for his use of his big hands to contol the ball and use some ball fakes. Guess who else was kwown for this. That's right Dr.J.

BTW Rondo has copied Hakeem with this move too. Are you on his vids complaining about it?

  • love kobe love the move

but on that play he didnt really need to spin =P

  • @000000MJ2345000000 Hakeem Olaujwon Taught Him That U Idiot!!!

  • @TheMoelock Hey! DUMBASS look at you spelling was fuckin! WRONG!....You're an Idiot otherway.

  • @000000MJ2345000000 ay u want me to tell u whats the difference between u and kobe........ the difference is kobe gotta life u fukin idiotic bitch, hop off MJ'S dikk u fukin pussy!!!

  • @TheMoelock Do you want me to tell you too! what's the different between you and kobe?....Kobitch is FUCKING rapesss player! plus fuckin SUCK balls....And you DUDE!,is FUCKING moron! STUPID! people....If I were you,go to your fuckin koBITCH! and SUCK his balls...You two are both FUCKIN suck!>....

  • @000000MJ2345000000 read ur youtube ID, it says MJ, u prob gave mj a blow job than he let u use his name, and bitch!!!

  • @TheMoelock Poor little thing...Go to your boy and play with his BALLS.......You FUCKING! suck!.

  • @000000MJ2345000000 ur mom sucks....... this dick bitch!!!

  • @TheMoelock HA ha ha ha I am fucking! LOL now.....Because you know what you are fucking being IDIOT!!! ha ha ha ftw!!! are you? LOL!

  • what is this music?

  • 32 now and he's not the best, u come out at 18 playing with Shaq helps too.

  • Fucking copier doesn't have originality moves, how fucking DARE!!! this guy,why his fucking being like this??? Uh!

  • Kobe Bryant's Amazing "Dream SUCK!" LOL wtf!

  • Kobes like "oh shit, that move actually works!"

  • Hakeem did his dream shake against David Robinson and Kobe did his against the Clippers, thus making his less impressive

  • damn..look at the speed of his spin..shits crazy..

  • I find it amazing about all these bandwagon fans who 2 years ago said that Kobe had never "really" won a ring, b/c all he did was ride Shaq's coattails...these same people are now like "Kobe's got 5 rings" -- flipflopping more than a politician, LOL!

  • rajon rondo does this like once every 3 games you should see he faked the crap out of andrew bynum, chris anderson, both anthony parker and anderson varejao at once, amir johnson and earl watson
