for all u tards that think Jim Mero is not a good driver u can shove it. ive personally met Jim Mero and he took has driven me in a ZR1 a few times. He is a top engineer on the corvette and he can also drive it like he stole it. No other race car drivers can engineer a car and drive it.

How is Jim Mero not a real driver? He lapped the ZR1 just 1.1 second behind the Ferrari Enzo, and 1.1 second ahead of the 2010 Nissan GT-R driven by Japanese F1 driver, on the Nurburgring.

Keep in mind that the ZR1 does not have the technologies the Enzo or the GT-R has.

zr1 could beat a GT-R's ass anyday. Of course the corvette zr1 has the same, if even better technologies then the gtr or enzo. I'm not saying that the zr1 is faster 0-60 then the enzo but it definetley fries the gtr's ass!!!

Jim Mero was not the best person to set that Nurburgring lap time. Given to someone like Jan Magnussen or John Heinricy I strongly believe it would beat the Enzo, probably the ACR Viper, but maybe not the Gumpert.

Also, the ZR1 uses magnetorheological dampers, just like the 599GTB, 458 Italia, Audi R8, Stryker Tank,....etc. Just to put Corvette "technology" into perspective. =)

The zr1 had Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires with stock ride height and weight with pump gas - try this quote from Tadge J. Juechter:

"The car was bone stock with the exception of the communications and safety equipment"

superchargers do kill fuel economy. But GM uses great fuel systems and even their V8 cars get relatively good fuel economy. The Impala SS gets 25 on the highway, my friend's focus gets 29. Which would you rather have?
