@Spyderi07 I know one, his wife ran him over.. no shit.. it was an old airplane that you had to spin the prop to start.. she was inside and was suposed to be holding the brakes. He made a full recovery. I have heard stories of others but you never know if they are true. Either way it's much worse than being run over by a car

Stupid. The pilot screwed the pooch here. All he needed to do was to go into BETA or reverse with the props and the plane would have stopped. Dumbass.

A pilot is legally obliged to avoid any risk for passengers and bystanders.

The only proper measure he should take in this situation would be to immediately shut down the engines and to rescue the boat people instantly.

This is a serious mistake which you could blame the pilot. The skill of the pilot is to doubt!

I have been both flight instructor and examiner and I strongly believe the license of the pilot would be repealed.

This looks like a prewar plane re-engined with gas turbine engines. Very interesting. I would like to see them do this with a Seeadler if any are left. That was the best seaplane ever designed, in my opinion.

They didnt misjudge really.

It was a combination of several factors...

1. The Zodiac pilot or "coxswain" allowed the plane to nudge the ass end of his craft putting it into an awkward position.

2. The man standing with the leverage screwed his buddies in the boat. He needed to keep hold while the coxswain turned his boat to the right and brought his craft parallel to the plane.

But I like how homeboy jumps off the wing to help out his buddy that went under with the boat.

The Plane has engine running for some control. It doesnt appear that he has props trimmed for thrust. the guys in the skiff are at fault for not properly handling the skiiff in the condidions

use some common sense, that is a river, and it has a strong current, if the pilot cuts the engines, he loses total control of the airplane and the current will take control. that airplane is more than a million dollars for sure, u as the pilot in charge , cannot let that happen.

They are at idle. Without brakes, float planes continuously move forward.
