The playing of the trumpet with its hauntingly beautiful and glorious music is excellently and flawlessly performed and the accompanying video interchanges with the portrayal of magnificent oil paintings of wedding scenes of the 17th and 18th Centuries of the Baroque period followed by the 19th Century of the Classical and Impressionist period. Absolutely charming and delightful!
Hi, my name is Alexander Harold Hersh and I reside in Johannesburg, in the Republic of South Africa. The 'Prince of Denmark's March' or 'Trumpet Voluntary' was composed by the English Baroque composer, musician and church organist, Jeremiah Clarke in 1699. It is absolutely beautiful and exquisite, glorious and magnificent and is truly a masterpiece! It must be played to herald the glorious coming of Mashiach Ben David - Messiah, Son of David - on Har Zeitim - the Mount of Olives - in Jerusalem!!
@AlexanderHersh "It must be played to herald the glorious coming of Mashiach Ben David - Messiah, Son of David - on Har Zeitim - the Mount of Olives - in Jerusalem!!"
Well, I hope we get to hear it before then, because there's no reason to think that day will ever come... ;)
----
In any case--and sorry if the question has already been asked below--who's the trumpet soloist?
@lease2coach1 The great and glorious day of the coming of the Mashiach Ben David - Messiah, Son of David, who will appear on Har Zeitim - the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem in Israel will surely come to pass in the Lord God's own appointed time at the end of the ages, as surely as the sun appears and rises in the east every day! I and many others have an unshakable faith in God, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth!
Not only is the music lovely and beautifully performed, but the accompanying art is also delightful. I've thoroughly enjoyed viewing and listening to this video. Thank you!
Marvellous piece of music, we had it at our wedding in 1988 in Australia.......................finding a trumpeter was a bit of a trick! Thanks for posting.
The story below... Why did it have to happen to ME?!?!?! I was such an innocent boy, such a good boy... But the winds of change came calling... AND... Those winds??? Came out of my asshole in the way of epic farts... They changed my life forever... Read on...
I felt like Royalty for 3:01 minutes.... Then I put on a wig and soiled myself, just like true royalty! You are all filthy pigs to me! How dare you?!?!?! I have put my penis in every single bottle of wine I have drunk. And then.... Soiled myself silly! Uncontrollably! inconceivably! unconscionably! indiscriminately!!!
I believe the kids are calling it... Explosive Diarrhea!
For 90's lovers, this great classical piece was played in the Chumbawumba song Tumbthumpin from their album, you hear a little of it toward the end. They were an alternative pop group in the late 90's. PS, I love classical and opera but I also love 80's and 90's pop having grown up in those decades
beauitful piece of music, i had this as i walked down the aisle 9 years ago. Played on huge pipe organ in massive church, very stunning-the music lol!
I enjoyed this video very much, I love this music, and it was nice of you to include marriage scenes from the different faiths. I had to smile a little bit, though, at the pictures of princely Russian Orthodox weddings: in the Orthodox Church, no instrumental music of any kind is permitted: only choral music. :))
@dongisselbeck To be accurate about Mr. Clarke, he did indeed hang himself after losing his coin toss. Want to know the rest of the story??? Ask and ye shall receive...
I think my favorite interpretation of this is the historically-informed English baroque one at Diana's wedding where you had an entire trumpet section playing it in two parts and also had Timpani! Such Power!
@daledeloy Also proud of my Danish heritage, only the 2nd in my family in 138 years who SPEAKS Danish! Been to Danmark 5 times visiting my 3rd cousins - how many Americans preserve family ties for that long?
People mock Danish taxes, yet Danmark has one of the highest standards of living in the world. They believe in human rigts & they LIVE family values daily, istead of just talking about them !
Danmark is an AMAZING place! I''ve seen Queen Margrethe twice, once from touching distance!
This piece was incorrectly attributed to Henry Purcell for many years. The so-called Purcell's Trumpet Voluntary was in fact written around 1700 by the British composer Jeremiah Clarke as the "Prince of Denmark's March".
magpie4321: Because Jeremiah Clarke originally wrote it in honour of George, Prince of Denmark, the consort of the then Princess, later Queen Anne of Great Britain
@magpie4321 I for one am tired of Henry Purcell given credit for composing this piece. It was composed by Jeremiah Clarke around the year 1700. So let it be written and stop this nonsense about Purcell composing this. He did not.........
I commenetred before but I feel I must do so again - this rendition of "Trumpet Voluntary" is truly the most outstanding one I've found yet. Also, the photos and images in here are just gorgeous! This is my very most favorite piece of music and every time I watch this video I am moved in a way that few things truly touch me. It is truly a little slice of heaven!!
Marylandguineapigguy, you have touched my heart. That was very beautiful.
Your kind words have encouraged me greatly to produce more renditions of wonderful classical music. It's a pity I haven't post any new videos lately since I've been very busy with college. But don't lose faith. I'm still willing to post more great recordings of the greatest classical pieces ever composed. My purpose is to bring joy to this dreary existence.
Such an outstanding rendition of this wonderful classic... I would say that its meaning is greater than just that of a wedding march... Thank you for sharing this piece Magic Maker!
And just to let you know, I'm still planning to post more high quality recordings of classical music. I'll post them as soon as I find beautiful paintings that go with my vision of the selected piece.
