Dude all these languages you know will REALLY benefit you. Some jobs will pay you extra just because you know so many languages. Believe me. Not only that, you can have some really cool jobs, you could work in the travel industry, tourism, translator for the U.N., etc. I wish I knew as many languages as you.

how on earth did you learn to speak french like a native? what is your secret, did you go to classes to learn all these foreign languages which you claimed to know or did you learn it independently.
@nephrenmalinari, yes although he is from belgium but he has to somehow learn it and not "automatically knows it" plus he's a native taiwanese. he's also learning 9 other languages!

@cinephilist I'm taiwanese but met a lot of korean friends in Taipei xD although I have never been to S. Korea, I do love the country and its culture ! I need to learn korean =) but right now I'm in love with turkish !
Je suis abadordi ! Ceux gens qui sachont/connaissent les langues multiples. Moi, je veux savoir l'allamagne et l'espagnol. La francaise est #1 sur mon liste des langues que je veux savoir. @loki2504 I'm always interested in Russian history / weapons etc so I'm quite passionate about it and I'm also planning to work in China some day so it might help ^^. @AucunePeur Salut ! Si tu veux, chaque partie,voire même chaque région de la francophonie possède son accent et son argot. Comme je suis en né en Belgique, bah c'est normal que tu penses que j'ai un accent vu que je pense que tu te focalises sûrement sur l'accent français (de France).

@AucunePeur L'intérêt n'est pas vraiment le nombre de langues qu'on parle mais le nombre de cultures qu'on apprend à connaître ! En apprenant des langues très différentes, on rencontre des gens très riche culturellement qu'on aurait pas rencontré autrement ! Je te conseillerais comme 3e langue quelque chose de vraiment chouette, vraiment différent pourquoi pas: le thaïlandais, le japonais, l'arabe, le hindi, le turc, le russe? Enfin, une langue non indo-européenne quoi !

Gosh I wish I could speak French on this level!! I can read and understand at a slow speed... but once it's my turn to speak and write, I lose every bit of vocab that I have learned :/ 4 years of college gone to waste....

@Miguelsr1rst Well latin is not among them ! Here in Europe, it's common to have people at least trilingual. I grew up with 5 languages =) and learnt five on my own.
They are: french, flemish, mandarin chinese, teochew, english, japanese, spanish, italian, german and taiwanese.
I have some very basic knowledge in polish and I'm learning some non indo-european language right now (turkish+arabic)
How long have you been learning French to speak at this proficiency? I'm trying to learn French also, but it is so difficult for me. Do you have any advice?
@TommyCrazyBoy french isnt that hard to learn...the most frustrating part of learning it is being able to read it and understand it really fast but not really be able to understnad it (ive been learning for 9 weeks..probably less than you have learned it at this point in time..you are probably at five or six months now) keep up and dont be jealous one day you sill speak french too ;-)

Hi, Loki I have a question for you. I would like to use the Assimil courses, however I do not currently know French. I have used the Assimil before in English, however, my options are very limited. If I complete Assimil French With Ease and Assimil Using French, would my knowledge be sufficient to use the real Assimil courses? Thanks!
@UnclePolyglot, je comprends les trucs de base car ça ressemble beaucoup au madarin mais j'ai jamais réellement étudié cette langue donc ma connaissance est très limitée... Mes amis parlent des langues très variés: le shangaïen, cantonais, vietnamien, russe, italien... C'est très international ici !
Moi, je l'avais appris pendant quelques années, mais je l'avais trouvé plutôt difficile, par rapport au mandarin, particulièrement en termes de prononciation.
Mais j'adore cette langue quand même, et je voudrais améliorer mon cantonais encore un peu dans un proche avenir!
