as a musician myself I have to say this camera has one of the cleanest sounds. Some people complain about the low volume. I think this is great for loud music cause it will not distort your sound.

@andyffer I think it's great that there is enough on the market to give us a choice and for pretty cheap. I remember when I got into film making (10 years ago, I feel old) and the idea of getting something that shoots HD for next to nothing was unheard of. In fact HD was pretty much unheard of. These are glory days for videographers on a budget.

I xported using the share to YouTube option. After you upload a vid on YouTube your movie quality will not be at it's full resolution for at least a day or two. Let me know how it looks then.

It does but I only applied a little bit since the shots were taken closely. My suggestion would be try to record at a distance since you can always zoom in and not out.

When it first came out there were some compatabilty issues but Apple has since fixed that with an update. All of my videos has been edited and uploaded through iMovie 09.

You can but not on the camera itself but on the software it includes for the computer. I do not recommend this for any camcorder since it never looks good compared to any digital camera.

Is the content that you recorded in HD? If not then you can't create a movie with a higher resolution than the original content.

Yes, iMovie is only on a Mac. Warning - if you have a PowerPC mac the video will play choppy using the flipshare application. What I do is load them straight from iMovie 09. iMovie 09 then converts the video and it will play smoothly. If you have an intel Mac you should not have any issues.

It is only a digital zoom so I would expect the quality to drop off. Don't bother with the zoom unless it is essential!

I just uploaded straight out of iMovie 09. When it uploads to YouTube imovie 09 knows to export the movie in it's native resolution.

i've looked at several of these smaller, cheaper HD cams...problem i have with them is the fps..they all kinda freeze or lag during palyback, unlike the real full size HD cams...

Also keep in mind the reason the video might look choppy is if you watch any videos in HD you need to make sure your computer has intel and fast enough. I have a powerpc mac and the video is choppy when I watch it in HD. The video plays perfect in iMovie.

The issue with using image stabilization is it uses zoom to stabilize the video. So if the image is not a far away shot I cannot zoom the video too much. I hope that makes sense.

I exported straight from iMovie 09. All I used was the titles and the image stabilization. No effects for the actual video.
