That was the work of a group of very talented, determined individuals who happen to be from the U.S. Same goes for the Bugatti. It doesn't matter where that car was made. the ssc is faster, but that was its only purpose. if WV decides they want to beat the new record all they have to do is tune the engine, the engine can produce much more HP than it does now, but that would defeath the whole purpose of the veyron.
Actually the Veyron makes 987hp, they advertise it in corrected metric hp to make it sound less pathetic. If you gave a squirrel 16 cylinders and four turbos it could make more than that.

With power to weight ratio, I expected the Aero TT to be a lot more faster. Too much power is wasted.

they actually havent got the aero to its potential speed, it goes faster then the recorded top speed. I could live with the minor quality design that the aero has, its still pretty nice. If i ever had enough to get a bugatti i would buy a really nice house.

the aero is basically faster, but is almost half the weight of the veyron and also looks horrible on the inside. if you buy the aero, it would mean you probably could also afford the veyron, so veyron any day.... quality, looks and more practical
Neither of them are practical and built for every day driving. The only difference is if you want the prettier more luxurious car thats slightly slower or the car that isn't so pretty and unpractical but is balls to the wall fast.
top speed is inacurate for the veyron, it was confirmed at the VW testing grounds doing an AVERAGE over four runs in both directions doing 253.89 mph, not that it makes any difference...
The veyron has luxury and could be used everyday. The people that buy these cars dont care about price, they want the best built and most refined with explosive speed built into the package. The SSC is a race car on the road which i imagine is terrible to drive.

Ultimate Aero: 936 bhp per ton, top speed 257, 0-60 2.8 seconds
The SSC has more than twice the bhp/ton of the Veyron and yet is slower to 60 and only 4 mph faster on the top end.

@AMXBOY73 I fail to see the relationship between a 4 mph top speed advantage and it being a "better car"? The Bugatti is an attempt to engineer something special. A successful attempt, If anyone thinks for a second that the only objective of this car was a top speed or a 0-60 time they are naive. The idea is that sure...there will always be a faster car...but there will not be another car which accomplishes such speeds with such composer and dignity. The Veyron...a much MUCH better CAR.

@AMXBOY73 Don't look at engine size and power output and declare a car better. The SSC has almost 300 hp more than the Veyron and weighs less than half what the Veyron weighs. Therefore, the SSC has more than twice the bhp per ton of the Veyron. Is it twice as fast? No, it is actually slower to 60 and it's top speed is a pathetic 4 mph faster. The Veyron's engine is doing more than twice the work of the SSC's. So, which engine is more impressive?

@marshknute they got there top speed at a closed road corse it was a 6 mile corse! the SSC did it in a 3mile corse. the SSC will get there faster,n leave the bugatti behind after the 0-60 it wouldnt even look close. the SSC would pull away from the bugatti it wouldnt even look like a race. it would spank it.n if you ran both cars at top speed 4 60sec the gap would only widen. it would keep pulling away from the bugatti.both cars r great. the SSC cost 1.4 millon less.

@AMXBOY73 What currency are you talking about? The Veyron costs 1.5 million American dollars and the SSC costs between 600 and 700 thousand American dollars (the Veyron costs twice as much). I would expect that the more powerful and lighter-weight SSC would accelerate and reach its top speed faster than the Veyron, but what is it doing with all its 1280 hp in the sprint to 60?

@marshknute its easy the bugatti is AWD n the SSC is rear wheel drive. if the SSC was AWD it would be much faster. and you said its only four miles faster well your right. but it gets there much faster than the bugatti the race would be one sided, n favor of the SSC.n for the price the video states 2 mill. im not taking any thing away from the veyron. but if you would line up both cars from a dead stop the SSC would pull away from the veyron after 60 very quickly.its who can get there faster.

The point is that when you desperately squeeze that much horsepower from a little V8 it causes side effects, like the engine won't last as long as the Veyrons and it's more likely to break down.
Tbh neither are really built with racing heart, the Veyron can't go round corners and the SSC is designed to beat the Veyrons top speed.
When a cars main purpose is to go faster than 257 mph chances are it's going to be shit everywhere else.
I'm not a fan of either anyways.

they actually havent got the aero to its potential speed, it goes faster then the recorded top speed. I could live with the minor quality design that the aero has, its still pretty nice. If i ever had enough to get a bugatti i would buy a really nice house.

the aero is basically faster, but is almost half the weight of the veyron and also looks horrible on the inside. if you buy the aero, it would mean you probably could also afford the veyron, so veyron any day.... quality, looks and more practical

top speed is inacurate for the veyron, it was confirmed at the VW testing grounds doing an AVERAGE over four runs in both directions doing 253.89 mph, not that it makes any difference...

The veyron has luxury and could be used everyday. The people that buy these cars dont care about price, they want the best built and most refined with explosive speed built into the package. The SSC is a race car on the road which i imagine is terrible to drive.
