He did pass on a contract. I had a family member in the hospital, so I spent everyday there in the waiting room. One day I was watching GH & some lady is like "Oh, I know him. He's a family friend." It turns out he gets paid more not beiong contracted. They still want him to stay on the show, so they're talking about maybe revising the contract.
I can definitely see Spinelli as a romantic character. The writes seem to be developing his character a little bit in this direction. He has had such stong reactions from the fans. I believe this is why he was given a contract. The new Luke and Laura? Luke was only suppose to be on the show for 13 weeks in the 70's and look at his character today.
