@fionncroke yeah but wanted to just put it out there so if others wanted to expand on their art they can...I totally understand this is for beginners and would also like to point out there is a time and a place for the smug tool even in advanced art :) after all I learned with the smug tool then sought out other avenues to make my art better.
@relicsong I use it quite a bit sometimes, but with very low intensity settings mostly :) yeah it's fun to play with! I really like using it with black and white, going over and under each other with sharp smudges :)
I agree on the tracing point but then again many start with a base image so if you need to do this till you get better at drawing your own I say go for it. Also want to say the smug tool is great for beginners but it tends to make the art look washed out try paining the colors highlights low lights and mid tones then to blend them you can set your opacity down to about 25% then paint over using the eyedropper tool to grab shades as you go till its smooth hope this makes sense.
@relicsong Thanks for the feedback! You're dead right about not using the smudge tool, it gets very messy! This is intended for beginners tho, and it makes for quick learning ;D
@fiercedragon1234 I'm really glad it helped you out :) I will upload better ones soon, I think this is my most popular video so I really must, no excuses haha :) :)
Really like your artwork, and its nice to see the vision from fellow visual digital artist, am working on a bunch of robo digi art, would like your comments too, just click on my name on the left hand side to view the video, hope to see more artwork of yours soon :). Digi Artman
@EvilMatty12 Not really, it's kind of like using a reference photo. I understand what you mean tho, it is tracing. I don't always draw over photos, usually I just start with a blank canvas, but this video was just for the sake of a tutorial for beginners, to make it easier to draw celebrities, musicians etc. Even the pros use reference photos :)
@TheMvp96 thanks :) I will do some step by step ones soon, as requested :) if there's anything or person in particular, or a specific image that you wanna draw, let me know, and i can do a step by step tutorial for drawing it, either digitally or with pencil :)
@Gilgameish666 haha no actually, was thinking something along the lines of "Digital art tutorial for people who don't want to live the life of a filthy pirate" but it might be a bit long lol
