@biloxi1314 They are the PAF Pro with the metal cover on them :). They're still DiMarzio. On the other guitars it's the usual combo of that era: D-Sonic on bridge and Air Norton on the neck position.
This WAS the pinnacle of DT's career... Absolutely perfect in every way. After this everything started going downwards. I'm starting to think changing to a label that, as they said, "was actually doing something" for them was the worst decision they made. Maybe having to reach to their public by no other means than their music was what made them such an amazing, original and consistently growing band. Then again, maybe not...
@sebinounet Because it take more than ears to enjoy good music, it takes your intelligence, emotion and imagination. Real music: motivate you, move you and inspire you, the average Joe and Jane are just too simple minded to appreciate that. They listen to people like Bieber because those songs have simple lyrics and repetitive rhythm are perfect to occupy and hypnotize their simple brains. Unfortunately they make the majority of the population; they a are more a profitable market.
@CthuluHasChannel I 100% agree. I was always on the fence about James voice. Until I heard this album. DT would not be who they are without him. He's one of my favorite vocalists, next to Robert Plant.
i had to cry at the end.the fact that i would never see dream theater with mike portnoy just hits me...and did anybody notice that without mike there will be no real entertainment during the shows?i mean no offense against DT, i love them all,and i have to say that i've nerver seen them live, but from what i've seen in videos, dvds etc it was always mike who really kept the contact with the crowd...just wondering. peace
I was not aware of that , they are not perfect so I would have thought they were live, and even if they are, does it matter ? It's not like James wasn't the best singer in the world in 1992-1994 , there are hundreds of bootlegs and the live in tokyo dvd were he sang even higher and better than Marquee, so what's the point ?
@joshuanaconda Sure mate! As being a Huge DT fan for almost 15 years, I didn't want to degrade Labrie, but to mention a fact. He has proven that he can sing amazing most of the times
@joshuanaconda I'm aware of the Octavarium climax. It's a favorite of mine. But I'm just saying, it's been a long time since we've heard him hit a higher pitch out of nowhere like that.
@buried2 You can see him have a mini heart attack at 0:31 when they approach the 15/8 section before the main riff kicks in again. He like double takes. lol
@buried2 u def right but this part of the song doens't change times tooo too much. not like the one afte war inside my head, i forget what that's called. but yea the conductor does that one too
@abhimuscat really? i count a clean 7 at the part where mike is hitting the snare and john is just chugging. and then the chorus i can count a clean 5. maybe i'll have to ccount again
@abhimuscat really? i count a clean 7 at the part where mike is hitting the snare and john is just chugging. and then the chorus i can count a clean 5. maybe i'll have to count again
