The US does end up killing a lot of good music by pushing parts of it to the mainstream and ruining what was created as great music and culture wether its dubstep, DnB, Jungle, Ragga, Hard House, etc. And i live in the US!! Skrillex isn't Dubstep. Skrillex is actually Brostep, which is a soul-less, dark, heavy Dubstep. Problem is, Dubstep has become WAY too mainstream. Once it hit America, it became mainstream and ruined. Rusko, Skream, Benga, Caspa, Plastician- That's Dubstep. This new stuff isn't. I respect both, but Drum and Bass is the true pioneer of UK Garage Music. Look at how America ruins everything that goes mainstream. In my opinion a lot of oldschool dubstep was crap. Only a few of it was decent like the artest you listed. I personally like the new brostep better than most old dubstep. Too much empesis on bass just for a soul-less drop. It is really hard to make a song hold ub base on its drop aloan. The more empesis on mid-tone the new brostep has is an improvement because it complements the drop.
