I'm just REALLY glad this guy doesn't spend TOO much time talking & talking & TALKING about stuff nobody gives a FLYING SHIT about ! what a douche :O(
this is a really nice shape! it creates quite a unique sound and goes very well with those mini-sweep arpeggios you got on the other lesson, since its also a d-shape ...
my sweeps usually sound ok but sometimes they blend together and everything sounds too muffled together ..... i use lots of gain could that be affecting it?
@itsTHEFIREDOG Yeah, too much gain could make everything sound too muddy. But, what kind of gain you're using plays a big part! Some distortion pedals make everything sound muddy even when set on 3-4. Other (often more expensive) distortion pedals keep the clarity and separation of the notes even when set on 10.
Of course, playing technique is the most important thing, always start slow and build up your speed. But bad distortion can definately mess up the sound.
@Taz8324844 Arpeggiating Chords means that you take a chord, and instead of strumming all the strings at once, you play them one at a time. If you were referring to when I say "Triad based arpeggio sweeps" in the video, this means that we take the Root, the Third and the Fifth (i.e. the Triad) and play them one at a time, but very fast. The sweeps in this lesson are not triad based, since I only used the Root and the Fifth. I don't understand what you mean by "mark a key on the guitar"?
It's Ben "The Guitar Master" Lindholm! Great fucking job, Bro! Thanks! I'm struggling with sweep picking and economy picking right now, so this lesson is much appreciated! :D
Great lesson! I am going to practice those sweeps for sure!
I do have a request, though. Do you think that Ben could do a lesson showing a handful of different sweep patterns, i.e. m7, maj7, different minor and major patterns, if that makes any sense, and if Neal could do a lesson showing a handful of licks we can use in solos? Thanks.
Merhaba..... Man there is no word to tell how i feel appreciated. :P i guess i started to like you more than Neil, Just kidding; I love your lessons equally
@BenLindholm Hi Ben, thanks for your reply. But since you are here on Youtube, can I ask you a question ? I've actually been looking for a backing track like you play on in the beginning of this video with a piano, for that extra slow and powerful emotional soloing. Can I get that backing track somewhere ? Thanks in advance, if you would reply :-)
