  • I thought "RAW" was with nothing but a belt on. (no knee wraps)  Is it like that in every federation?

  • @Friday13thTaurus He has squatted over 1,000 in single play and just last week at our workout he doubled 900 raw. Trust me, he spends enough time squatting.

  • @Friday13thTaurus If you dont know how to squat, and anything about kinetic energy in the body, or how to build explosive power, than sure. they are a waste of time, but if you know your shit, then you know that they are amazing....

  • @Friday13thTaurus Well, considering americans hold all the records in squat, i'd keep your mouth shut.... box squats build explosive power, and make you stronger than normal squatting. So why do normal squatting when it doesn't make you as strong..... Makes little sense to me..... Sure, you shouldn't do it every week, you gotta real squat sometime, but dont give this elitest, america knows nothing attitude, when we hold pretty much all the world records in powerlifting, except dead lift.....

  • it depends on the box. low box squats are hard as hell because, like others are saying, you lose that bounce at the bottom. high box squats are easy though. there's good depth with this box

  • with a box squat there isnt constant tension on your muscle, you can explode up, its easier.

  • @grenerd487 no, your wrong im afraid, have a little read about it i think you will find that with box squatting there is no stretch reflex (among other things) that make it harder

  • @grenerd487 You actually lose all the "Elastic" energy build up by pausing on the box. As stated below (Stretch reflex). Try it.

TENSION ON THE MUSCLE BLA BLA BLA, but you lose the most important part of the lift which is connect energy... WHy the fuck do you think it is harder to bench with a pause then touch and go.. You can rest it on your chest, it should be easier haha. lame ass.

    have u even done box squats compared to regular squats? i dnt think so... u can do a lot more weight with box squats.

  • The things I like about Hoss are all simple. He's good with a monolift or walking out. He's good RAW, 1-ply, and 2-ply. Regardless of the conditions you put him in to squat, Hoss has incredible power and is MUCH stronger than most people in the world. 5/5!

  • Not the one I was in a few yrs ago. I was about to wrap my knees and told me I couldn't....Also the other meet I was in told me my wraps couldn't come up to my shorts because it was illegal...This is funy how they change the rules. A friend that competed in APA told me they change the rules for some. They wintess a lift for one while another that went just as far if not father in the squat was called a no lift. It's all politics no matter what you do. LOL
