Dark Echoes is the name of the game in Japan. Both the original GameCube version and the Wii version there were called that. Since I'm playing the Japanese version in this Walkthrough, that's why it said Dark Echoes.

@kayotixlords 1st "Dark Echoes" is what they called Metroid Prime 2 Echoes in there... plus it ties into the games because dark samus is an echo of samus... 2nd it was part of the new play control scheme nintendo had at the time...before metroid prime trilogy was released

I think it's worth it to buy the Trilogy just for the first game with Wii controls. But it would also be worth it for 2. The only thing bad about it is all the backtracking you have to do to get the Sky Temple Keys. Honestly though i liked it.

these new metroids need better storylines .... ill give the developers as much credit as they want for making a workable game, but its like they handed samus over to a bunch of fans who know nothing about creating drama. give me a metroid with motherbrain back in the picture, an interesting detailed alien planet, more interesting godlike aliens like metroids, dramatic music that is not boring techno (if anyone likes it thats great), and a more personal samus.

This was released only in Japan as a stand-alone game on the Wii. Everywhere else got it as part of the trilogy. For instance the Wii menu screen demo-preview thingie whatever you call it.

Sadly, Echoes is the only game in the Prime Trilogy in which the Space Pirates actually look like Space Pirates (and not some generic enemy one could expect to see in ANY FPS with an alien theme).

Once you beat MP 2 on hard/hyper whatever version your playing. It should let you have unlimited ammo. I mean it would make it so much funner. Or it should have unlimited ammo in whatever zone your in, like light gun has unlimited ammo is the light zones, and the dark beam in the dark zone.

I agree that the first game was the best. The 2nd one was interesting but the settings on Aether didn't feel like a Metroid-style game. However, the 3rd game rocked and had tons of new, cool features! But NO METROID GAME can compare to the original Metroid Prime!

Hmmm, I like Metroid Prime 1 better still. Corruption for me is at the bottom simply because I hated going around and finding all the energy things less than halfway in. I guess I just like Metroid Prime 1 better because when I get a new beam I like to obliterate everything with it, instead of only getting 50 uses until you get more ammo. I wish they would have made them be unlimited like in MP 1 and 3.
