it would be the service provider. RIM has nothing to do with that. when you friend got a new blackberry, did he keep the same number? if he got a new number and sim card then the old one will probably work, otherwise, his service provider most likely de-activated it

what you do is when u get it it should come with a USB cable. So plug it in to computer,burn a cd from itunes,Rip it into your windows media player(if you have one).Then go to your library,

right click,scroll down and selectveiw source. A window should come up an basicly drag the songs to your removable disk.

For pictures just make a folder in the removable disk and save pics in there.

If you don't have a USB cable use a micro SD card.

well, No it is not possible to set it as a ringtone. The way that i record it might not be really a good way to do it but it is still voice setting. Go to voice note. Then record your voice then click send as mmsthen click on use once at top and put your own number and then click the menu button and click on SAVE DRAFT. then you will be taken to the messeges pade and there you got it. Hope this can atleast do the trick. Soryy for making such a bad comment to you i apologize
