  • I think this is perhaps one of the BEST young one's moments. And oil may be my most seen episode but still probably my favorite!

  • Darling Fascist Bullyboy, Give me some more money, you bastard. May the seed of your loin be fruitful in the belly of your woman.

    -Neil.

  • "60% mccartney, 40% me". that fluid blend of surrealism and biting humour, that's what made the young ones brilliant, and just as relevant today and tomorrow.

  • you people fad till look this song is funny. it is a clip from the young ones and stop being stupid. (lol lol i'm a shit talker on YouTube now lol)

  • this could be a great song

  • WATCH WITH CAPTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The nasally vocals remind me somewhat of Billy Corgan

  • I always thought that Nirvana had a Buddy Holly sort of sound to them though, the use of power chords etc this song is awesome I wish they had decided to record an entire song out of this riff so hopefully a decent band decides to do it themselves in honour of this fantastic show and scene.

  • anyone get the tabs for this??

  • Here's a little sucker that you ought to try!! Crane fly pie with a Mosquito side salad!!

  • Best moment from the Young Ones...also the best song Buddy Holly never wrote!!!

  • yay!

  • Sounds a bit like the opening to Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle. I'm sure Kurt probably came across TYO at some point!

  • *laughs* Buddy holly?! i thought he was dead!

  • English beetles...hehehehe :D

It took me about 10 minuites to get that the first time round...

  • lol

  • @oshinataka Crap! I NEVER check my YouTube emails and just found the 10 requests from everyone for our mp3... I'll see if I can track it down! :)

  • Have all the episodes on DVD - but this scene is just awesome! :D Thanks for sharing!

  • Haven't I heard this tune before?

  • Who is the guy playing Buddy Holly?

  • I used to think it was Ben Elton playing Buddy, but I just looked it up to find it was an actor called Ronnie Golden. Yes, the riff is definitely Nirvana-esque.

  • what song???

  • @3bayftw

I think it was Nirvana'ssong 'polly' that reminded me of it and maybe something else. God. it's been years since I listened to that band.

  • This song reminds me of Nirvana for some reason.

  • I can hear why.

  • Reminds me of The Young Ones, Dunno why though...

  • so glad someone said Nirvana. Whenever I say that I get weird looks. Such a good song.

  • nirvana? wtf? nothing like nirvana. nimrod.

  • @diamondtouch78 I cant believe im replying to a 3 month old comment, but Nimrod doesnt mean stupid. It means hunter - or rather it was the name of a famous one. Bugs Bunny was using it ironically to describe Elmer Fudd and people who watched but had never seen a dictionary assumed it was an insult.

  • @TheVampireCabbit Yeah...that's why the hunter robot in X-Men who chased Cable was named Nimrod.

  • @morsvincit I totally know what you mean

  • @morsvincit Chord progression.

  • @Carthsting Yeah definitely. The chords have that same kind of sad yet melancholoy sound that was Nirvana's bread and butter. And with the way he sings, it just seems so similar to Nirvana's sound. Funny thing, if someone had made this into a whole song, I would buy it.

When it goes back to Buddy, after MIke is calculating the sales and royalties, no one can tell me that it does not sound like a Nirvana song.

  • @morsvincit Yeah lol!!! What Nirvana would sound like if they did a Country & Western album :)

  • @ketaminemeltdown not gonna comment on your comment. Just going to say that Ilike your name, and that I completely, absolutely, without a doubt, know exactly what it means.

"The stairs are too steep! someone please help me!"

  • @morsvincit

Yeah, the riff has a very grunge/punk sound to it

  • Sucks we dont have a full song or one not rather obscured by mike, as aawesome as he may be.

  • i love his voice.

  • Well he's had a long time to practice =P

  • i want to own this song

  • I woke up this morning with this song stuck in my head. I am glad I got to see it. It's a strange song for sure...

  • lmao xD retarted laugh at: 1:03

  • that song sounds cooler then anything buddy holly did do

  • history lesson. the guy inspired the beatles, he invented the guitar-based band which we still see today. his style of writing was well advanced for the time. songwriter, musician, singer and producer (another first), the proof is in his timeless lastability. i'm a musician and like any other even by young bands today at least most would dispute your words.
