Well Keith gets all the credit for it. I've heard Wynton Marsalis often warms up by blowing along with AC/DC and Rose Tattoo albums and there's a rumour that he's working on an album of songs by the Angels called 'Am I ever gonna see your face again? No way....'
I asked Keith Jarrett about this last month after a concert, and he confirmed that Sean Wayland pioneered the use of music from "the heyday of Australian & New Zealand rock" as a metronome for practicing.
I usually enjoy slapping on an Alban Berg record and practicing some Space Farm hits.
