That was just priceless! I wonder if the guys even wanted that one to be posted...:) Either way they nailed it...Kasim, Todd and the boys at their best vocally! Love it.
saw the return to utopia show at the warner's theatre in fresno. i took about 6 or 8 friends that were not familiar with his music. we all left that show with our mouths hanging open, it was that amazing.they all repeatedly switched instruments and they all sang lead vocals.some concept, to have 4 multi instrumental lead vocalists in the same band! i'll remember it for life.
You call Love Alone a "good try"? That's harsh. If anything, he's channeling Paul McCartney (not Freddie Mercury). who knows how Utopia was talked into the wierd children's animal book thing, but Kasim Sulton - even on an off day - is a great singer and this is a gorgeous song.
@MrAlknn6 The Children's book thing does look wierd the way they did it on the TV show. When they sang this song live during the Road to Utopia tour - they played that on a full screen behind them on stage - the bouncing heart was replaced by a bouncing rubber duckie. It was really a nod to some of the old cartoon or live action follow the bouncing ball shorts that they used to play at the movies and later on TV reruns. Mercury or McCartney, it reminds me more of a Barbershop quartet song
Saw the Adventures in Utopia tour (which this song is from)......leaning on the stage...this song was powerful from that vantage point. A little cheesy here but still a great vocal trip.
Wow Kasim was off this day, trying to sing the chorus falceto instead of belting it out like he normally does! Also the storybook presentation is ridiculous! Spare me the hateful responses, I love this band...every singer has off days! There is another near perfect performance of this song on YT...search it and spare your ears!
Love Todd, and have since Nazz, but this is a bloody embarrassment, musically, lyrically & visually. I blame it on the need for house payments. What the hell were you thinking, Toddio!?

A good try, sort of Queen-ist, but he's no Freddie Mercury.

Great message, and wonderful memories of singing this to my son when he was little (he was born in late '82).
