It is a 2006 Z06. There have been many cars since this came out. This is the only one that stays for long. Road racing, street racing, drag racing, other cars, motorcycles, whatever, this is the best car I have had the pleasure to own or test. It just so happens to be the cheapest so go figure. I have raced these new 5.0 Coyotes on all those settings. I have owned many Mustangs myself. They are just no match for the Z in my humble opinion.
They've proven that for every PSI you cram down the 5.0's throat, you get around 20-25 hp/tq....at 8 PSI it puts down around 560 rwhp on gasoline so i'm guessing at 10 PSI it'll put down around 610 rwhp on gasoline....if you run 10 PSI on e85 with the new 5.0 I bet it'll give your corvette a good run, which is impressive for the cost of a mustang and a few mods. I like the z06's tho, my favorite corvette besides stingrays.
another grand or so mods for the mustang and the vette would be history... I would spend the little extra change to mod the mustang to woop the vette and it would still be cheaper than the cost of the vette easy... +1 for the mustang
@CornchipSO lol i love when people say theyd buy the stang and save the money and smoke him haha sweet dude im gonna go buy a 92 hatch back civic for 500 bucks and smoke the mustang and the end of the day both cars are NASTY but mod for mod the stang will never compete
I've told this story a few times but its true. I raced a 2011 mustang 5.0 that had a intake, x pipe, 3.73 gears and a tune. I raced from 40mph to 155mph two times. I won both times with my stock 2006 zo6 by 2 to 2 and 1/2 cars. I was very impressed with the mustang.
11'' gt would need *at least* another 200whp to give a bolt-on C6 Z any kind of competition in a roll race. Hell, guys with 600whp 05-10 mustangs were getting beat up. And the vette definitely got him in his sweet spot, rolling ~50mph.
Note to self: Don't race Z06

@CornchipSO but a stock Z will hold its value much higher than a modded mustang.
