@tubehiki Sorry to break it to you but the pros only watercool with full tower case because the pros watercool their entire system and not just the processor. They need all the space they can get to fit those radiators.
@Scott97169 sorry to break it to you, but you're a total noob if you say so. there a lot of videos and work-logs of middle-tower cases fully water-cooled including the ram and even the power-supply out there.
It seems the space is tight for the news ati radeon hd 5870 cards or nvidia 400 series cards. Does anyone know if these card will actually fit comfortably in this case? Thanks.
Hey lian li. I have a quesiton. If I switched one of the exhaust fans on the top to an intake fan, would it further benefit the cooling? Seeing as how there is only one intake, I was a little worried. Also, i wanted to put intake filters on the top if I did switch one exahust fan into an intake.
I'm going to buy this case soon but with the optional transparent side panel that can house 2 140mm fans, model: W-KM2AB-7. I was just wondering if this optional side panel has dust filters included.
:O I wish i bought this and not the haf 922, just because of all the feautures. Fan filters, front panel is removable, panited interier, looks like an awsome case!
I have another question about this case, which I truly have fallen in love with.
One of the top case fans (140mm w/blue LED) have started to make a rumbeling sound a few days ago. When I slightly push down at the center "circle" of the noisy fan while it is running, the rumbeling stops completely.
What can be causing this annoying sound? Almost seems like the fan isn't evenly balanced or something. Thank you for replying! :)
@simonshusse: But I want to fix it, not buy a new one :) I mean, it came with the case, brand new, only a week ago... If it's not possible to fix in any way, I want Lancool/Lian Li to ship me a new one!
But I don't know much about fans, so I thought I'd ask. :)
Most ppl I know always replace the stock fans as soon as they get the case to get improved airflow and reduce fan sound. If you want a new fan from the vendor then go for it but if you want lots of cool silent air go for fans from Noctua, Scythe or Fractal.
I know. I was actually planning to do so because of the LEDs, but the fans are actually quite quiet! And my system is more than cold enough.
But since you mention it, do you know if the 140mm Fractal Design fans will be enough (as 2 top exhaust and 1 front intake) when they only run at 600rpm and push 66 m³/h? Right now my case fans are running on 700-1000rpm. But Fractals 9 dB(A) is pretty tempting. Noctua is good and expensive, but they're just so damn ugly! :)
I ordered this case only a few hours ago. Really excited to check it out.. Will make a video and tell you how it is, since I'm ordering the Microsoft Lifecam Cinema as well. The video will mainly be about sound dampening properties and how installing sound dampening mats will affect both noise and temperatur issues. Will also review the Scythe Grand Kama Cross CPU-cooler for LGA1156.
I'm really eager to know if the fans' LEDs can be switched off, though.. Does anybody know?
Quality may be still alright inside, I just don't like their new general direction of cheaper cases for the younger gaming crowd. SOme models I like but I used to like most of them not just a few of them... Matter of taste really. Like having some or not :p
This video is a little too fast and the freaking techno music is annoying. BUt I might buy that model, which the video did help in informing me about.
Actually your wrong - read all the webs Raven 2 reviews and you will see that while its a great case - its cooling performance is far worse than cases like this one and offerings from Coolermaster (HAF and Sniper series). The problem with the Raven is that there is too much blocking the top area that prevents proper exhaust. The small top fan can't keep up even if you install a more powerful one. All the cables clutter it up.
I think hot air don't need many fans on the top, it's going up anyway and the 3 big fans on the bodem are pushing the hot air up. There are many openings on the top. Please send me the Link for those reviews. All the reviews i know, they say that ist the best case for air cooled systems. Sory for my english. I can explain it much better in german
Hot air moving upwards isn't the same as hot air being sucked upwards. Hot air being sucked out of a case causes negative pressure and therefore surpassing the flow of naturally moving air...
I heard a lot of complaints about the build quality of these lancool cases. Lots of people having stress cracks in their window, or broken drive bays etc. Sad because it looks like a solid case otherwise. I wish they would just keep the regular square window though, the dog bone shape just looks stupid.
In mine the power supply tooless strap snapped into two pieces, where it pivit's with what looks like two rivits. Also my HDD shorted out on the HDD cage base. After contacting Lian Li the reply was "it wasn't broken in transit and was broken in use & therefore not covered under warranty" I even supplied photo's. I hope your luck is better than mine?
Really good case. Unforunately it's only sold at 2 (!) webshops in The Netherlands. All the big retailers sell Lian Li, Antec.. etc.. but not this great LanCool case. I really like the screwless design, the airflow and all of that for a reasonable price.
Lian Li should really try to get this case on the shelves everywhere.
And maybe come up with better design (estheticly) and a better name (Dragonlord is too cheesy)/marketing for future cases. The products are great.
An amazing case with very poor marketing. Both the name and the logo are hideous.
Case has an amazing design with lots of good rubber use/sound dampening. The tooless design actually works which is a bonus. Good price. The only negative ive heard is that the construction quality can be a bit iffy.

Well, along with that, this is a very sleek/quite case. I love mine....
On the case box they say it supports ATX and M-ATX but actually every mid-tower case that has atleast some inches of room between normal ATX mobo and hard drive and 3.25 drive bays can fit E-ATX motherboards, they just say that it doesn't because it's not meant to be for E-ATX motherboards cause E-ATX motherboard would cover up the cable management holes, hope this helped you ;)
