Because there exist alternative scientific theories of the natural origin of morality, yet you choose to omit them.
Even if your assumption is true, that would lead to another problem. If god know what is good and evil, by the same assumption, he must know from somewhere else and therefore there is a higher law giver.
The divine command theory has already been countered many times by Socrates' Euthrythro Dilemma. Go search for it.
But I do appreciate your spirit to see logical reasoning.
It's easy to see that the assumption that "if there is moral law, then there is law giver" is unsupported, and is flawed.
To call it "moral law" already implies a law giver. Then you deduce a law giver. You risk to use circular reasoning (logical fallacy).
Even if you say what exactly you mean is we somehow know how to distinguish good and evil, it's hard to see how it can go on to "so there is a moral giver".
I like the logic, and I like the depiction of evil by "an average man". We really are wicked in and of ourselves, all of us. Thank God for salvation in Christ Jesus alone! He is our only hope.
Wow --- It went to fast for me to follow as to take in what each sentence was saying/stating. I needed a PAUSE button to take this one in...as alot is being said and it went too fast for me to capture....
i love all of your videos - but this one was just OK for me... it did not really stir and desires to share it. And this is from a person who likes everything you have done so far :-)
I understand completely. This video is different because I couldn't move things around much or too quickly do to the fact that the message could be easily lost. I understand and appreciate your sharing of these videos. It makes me feel like God is using this ministry. Thank you.
The deeper argument is that there must be FREEDOM, which means a UNION OF OPPOSITES (bad and good) is necessary for reality to even exist. Only a God could INSURE that Freedom, even ordaining it in Himself no matter what cost. That's Spiritual Physics. So I posted my 1st Spir Physics video in response. You did good here, reel verse!
another good video my man, if i could make any suggestion, it would be that you maybe leave like an extra second between each line appearing, just to give the viewer a second to take in that line. but as far as the message, nice one
cool vid bro - I thot it was neat when you said "the only thing I could think of for evil was me". Yea our old flesh is so wicked, it is evil and needs to die.
as far improving the vid, perhaps put more space between the sentences/phrases - to me they seem to run into each & give a crowded feeling. or perhaps each statement could have its own "page", that way it doestn seem rushed & the points could sink in more. But thats just me.
But dont take my word, just do what the Lord leads.
I would submit it's not merely a question of saying due to evil, God must not exist. Christians frequently lose faith in God when something 'bad enough' happens. What we all don't recognize is that evil REALLY IS PROOF God exists. For evil and good are totally disconnected. So what unites these opposites? I submit that the uniting-of-opposites structure to everything in life (i.e., you can't live except on stuff that 'died' for you, even your chair is dead wood) -- proves God exists.

Looks like the makings of something good...

Your ministry is awesome. It gives me great topic ideas to discuss with my teen grils group! Keep doing what you do.

As an argument I don't think that this video succeeds. I just don't see a reason for an atheist to oppose the idea that there is no good or evil.
alienspy07 4 years ago
You are right in that sense. This argument only applies to those that use evil as the reason not to believe in God.
reelverse 4 years ago
Ah, I see. In that case it is a good point.
