  • Chocolate Love!

  • mala vola! xd

  • Those skeletons are getting funky.

  • great music for being eaten alive by rats

  • We had to listen to this in our music lesson! :L♥

  • Great work! How did you get the camera angles for the sims?

  • I love this video. You did a really nice job on it. I look forward to more of your work.

  • Really nice vid. Pity about the endtitle music: ruins it all.

  • wow, great animation project you put together, congratulations, excellent job, not too crazy about skeletons or halloween, but I luv animation and film.. you got 4 **** stars out of 5

  • 怖すぎました・・

  • runescape

  • superb!

  • Amazing work!

  • I love your video ! It's very well did ! I think it's the first good sims 2 music video I saw.

  • I love it

I have rarely seen a good Sims 2 music video, but this is atop my list :)

  • That's an incredibly inspired idea!! Well done,Shawn. :)

  • It seems that the skeletons are dancing Lady Gaga

  • nice job

  • u should keep the skeletons, but add other things. lik zombies, witches, vampires, etc.

  • Amazing. When you used the ghastly man and woman dancing among the skeletons it was CRAZY!!! It added a certain depth and story to the song that was not there before. You are an artist, and I hope you will continue to produce art. Good luck in your endeavors.

  • Are the skeletons just doing a slower Macarena?

  • Dancing skeletons are fine, but keep in mind this is a waltz...

  • @brobert1451 Exactly ... I'd have been more impressed by this work if the dead had waltzed instead of .. well ... poorly line-danced!

  • Maybe it's just me, but I thought the skeletons' choreography totally had a Lady Gaga vibe. ;D

  • are they doing the macarena ??

  • This is awesome! I love the Sims 2, and I know how irritating it can be to get them to do exactly as you want sometimes. I see you used dance boxes? Those things are awesome. I loved the original idea for this song, but you have re-created it in a modern sense. Great job all around!

  • i think its amazing, but the dancing just doesn't fit to the music at all the skeletons are dancing like they are my parents on a 'wild' party. i can imagine the skeletons making magnicifent ballet jumps when the music gets all intense and a skeleton doing a brilliant solo, or a pas de deux! but thats just from a dancer's point of view haha ;)

  • Wow, beautifully done! It is probably difficult, but it would be cool make the skeletons a little different frome ach other. Different heights and such. They now look too unnaturally similar. I love the part where they play the violins, and are all playing different pieces(even their fingers are moving!) As for the dancing, I love it when they waltz in pairs. The bit earlier on I think it's just a little too modern what they're doing. But I don't know how much is possible with Sims.

  • Saint Saens. A damn genius

  • ça ressemble au Sims .... C'est bizarre !

  • who in their right mind would dislike this?

  • More like "Danse Macabre 1995"

  • Absolutely fantastic video for one of my favourite pieces of music, well done!

  • I love zombie Sigmund Freud dancing with a lady... its peculiar how his beard stays black while his hair and face are affected by the lighting... makes me think Sigmund Freud must have some secrets about his beard...

This is really cool! I love the combination of interests that come together in this idea!

  • Awesome!

  • My orchestra teacher played this at Halloweenish time :P Im ten and I play violin and I hope to be able to play this someday! Really super great song + animations!

  • macabro no significa muerto, ademas es tipo vals... y los esqueletos parece que bailan "la macarena" .... hahaha

  • i don't see why anyone would dislike this unless they're easily scared and well you know

  • did you know that the violin part at the opening and end (playing the tritones) is meant to be a rooster calling forth the dance?

  • Music : Franz Liszt? HAHA! Wrong!!!

  • @Rantamplanfuful Who said that!!!!!!! lol :-))

Anyway, Liszt is another awesome composer

  • fantastic video :) its the theme to jonathan creek too i love that xxx thankyou for sharing xx

  • That was amazing! Wonderful usage of one of my favorite games, The Sims 2! It would look even better if you had a short dance scene with ghosts.

  • Wow I love it this is one of favorites songs n_n

  • I love it! If you get past the understandable roughness of Sims 2, its very well made!!! ^.^

  • Love how they incorporated it last night on GRIMM

  • @ORYGUNLADY omg me too

  • @ORYGUNLADY I saw that ep (it was appropriate use I think!). It's also in a Jameson commercial...which is kinda... weird

  • ... :)

  • saw this in school nd thought it was briilll

  • if you removed de dancing skeletons and put some hovering spirits around the violinist it would match more with the song

  • @ID114783 but not the stroyl line... (even tough it would look cool)

  • @ID114783 Thanks for the suggestion. I'm working on an updated version so that's something I can use in the new version.

  • @hshawn00 what you could do iis have the skeletons dancing in a style similar to the time period of the music itself, that is if you can with the program you used

  • @hshawn00 On the contrary, the skeletons are most suitable for this song (which I like), I somehow cannot imagine this song without skeletons. They are fine, in my opinion, they should stay, however, the problem I see is the way they are dancing. It is as if they were performing some mass exercises. It is not gruesome, it is not grisly nor macabre. This is the problem. Otherwise, it is very impressive.

  • @hshawn00 No keep the dancing Skeleton, it was Saint Saen's intention. As inspired by the original poem. And the xylophone was to imitate the bone's sound.

  • @hshawn00 I think spirits would match more with the song, too. I also think that the spirits should be waltzing with each other and each be different kinds of people from all walks of life.

  • @hshawn00 Hey, if you're open to a little more suggestion, how about making the choreography of the skeletons less repetitive? It would help if they responded to the cues of the music a little more to add to the drama..... & I think at least some skeletons should stay because the song is all about bones dancing with the Devil in the pale moonlight. Just my two cents. This one shows real promise here, it reminds me of Disney's "Fantasia" :o)

  • @ID114783 Hey man just curious, where'd you go to school at. Maybe it was a popular song to play especially in school, I don't know, but my music teacher did the same thing. I went to Viollette Elementary in CA.

  • @ID114783 you haven't read the poem, have you?

  • i think its brilliant

  • @kool2495 Thank you so much!

  • i love the sims 2! and you used it to make this video?right??

  • @Majjaa11 Yes I did. I love the Sims 2 as well. I wish the Sims 3 had half the charisma that Sims 2 have.

  • This is farking brill !!!

  • Why is the violinists face all smudged?

  • @JazzyDerenee because it's Death

  • I had the same idea. I've wanted to see a skeleton-dance video set to Danse Macabre for years. Thank you, it's excellent.

  • I love the way the skeletons begin to gather, stretching their "muscles." I think it's fantastic and delightful!!

  • Yes, the composer is C. Saint-Saens as others mentioned. Otherwise, "bravo" for uploading my favorite cartoon version of this!

  • te felicito! :D eres muy ingenioso

  • te felicito! :D

  • sims 2?

  • the only thing I don't like ti how abrupt and loud the song is at the credits... and I see it as i'll fitting to the video as well. =.="

  • A good effort and much like I was hoping to find while looking for a video to go with the music. Hate to say there was a definite Macarena feel to the dancing though which is a shame! Also, you've credited Liszt in the closing sequence...

  • Looks like the skeletons were getting jiggy wit-dit. Smith Style!

  • I've played most of the "Carvinal of the Animals" Suite and I found it fairly boring, but this song I really really like. I'm gonna have to make this a Halloween screensaver for next year, great video too!

  • @188043 I love Saint Saens but The Carnival is a little bit boring (maybe the 2 final movements are way better). His best works, the Rondo Capriccioso, 3º Symphony, 1º Cello concerto, 2º Piano concerto and 3º Violin concerto.

I would like to know more of him, anyway.

  • @Adri58 Thanks i'll have to listen to those...and yea i played viola so we always had the boring parts anyways but the Carnival seemed to be just a little bit worse than most of the other stuff we played

  • I like the idea of this. But the dancing doesn't exactly make me think of a beautiful "macabre," stately grace.

  • queer!!!!!!!!!! -julio

  • Danza Macabra es de Camile Saint-Saënz. (no de Liszt.).

  • lol Sexy skeletons!

  • pretty cool

  • i loved this, my cousin showed it 2 me i was amazed :) great job

  • I'm so glad to see this. My music teacher,Ms. Primo, introduced us to this in either 3rd or 4th grade. We acted a play out in her room. One person was death and all others were skeletons or monsters(*wow.kinda deep for elementary). I have been looking for this song for awhile. Thank you for posting/creating.

  • Great job!!! I love this piece.

  • Really good!!! I wish i'd thought of the idea to do it on sims

  • Enjoyed the video-- the music though, is by Camille Saint Saëns, not Franz Liszt. Liszt composed the "Mephisto Waltz." He also used (Like Saint-Saëns) the DIes iræ chant in his "Totentanz"

  • this is spectacular

  • Really quite great!

  • I'm an elementary school music teacher and I've been trying to find fun videos to show my students to get them to listen to music more actively. They REALLY enjoyed this video and I'm so glad that I could use it for the same class that made you love this piece in the first place.

  • @lisautz What a WONDERFUL story.

Thank you for teaching; thank you for caring.

  • halloween is fantastic magic

  • this is sims 3 no?¿

  • "Darn, did you see that guy to the left? he was skinny as bones!"

  • I am a music teacher and I really think your version is fantastic. Any chance I can buy a copy????? But the music is by Saint Saens not Listz otherwise it is beautiful.

  • I am a music teacher and I really think your version is fantastic. Any chance I can buy a copy?????

  • this juat a beutiful peice i absolutly love it!

  • Im not to fond of the lack of movement in the skelitons but other then that pretty good performance :)

  • I remember hearing this song is like 4th grade in music and then every grade after and the high school orchestra played it every year for Halloween except this year-when I join the high school orchestra. Sigh.

  • This is beautiful! I can't believe you did it with the Sims! It looks like you were inspired by the cartoon version from the 1980's, well done adaptation!

  • Awesome!!! and what are they looking for at the end? are they just digging to back into their grave?

  • Crank it!! Lovely SIMwork! I am a classical flutist, and fell in love with this very song first time I heard it on classical radio. This was, for me, about 200 years ago.

  • nice, very good job. the violinist is very spooky! i love the dance that the skeletons are doing, it looks so familiar, though! it is a character dance off of World of warcraft?

  • I have been looking for this song and video for 20 years. My elementary school showed it. It's so cool to finally find it and just bizarre to see that it has stuck with other people since grade school as well.

  • A STANDING OVATION

  • was this done using sims

  • Excellent! I had fun listening AND watching! Thank You for your effort! Very enjoyable!

  • Great job! I am a teacher and I want to show my students this! They'll love it! I played this song on the violin with my orchestra when I was growing up! :)

  • hi, excellent job, i like it, congratulations.

  • LOL...a skeleton flash mob....

  • Where'd you get the skeletons?

  • I truly enjoyed your vid. You did a great job!! Thanks for making it and posting it!!!!

  • Hate to criticize, but the animation of the skeleton violinist is pretty unrealistic. Everything else is brilliant though, good job!

  • @turtlespameater Ummm I didn't do the animation. I used the the sims 2 game to make this video so I was stuck with the animation I was given and I happen to think the animation looks pretty good.

  • @hshawn00 I KNEW SOMTHING WAS FISHYYY :D i luv that game

  • @turtlespameater for an amateur venture, I think its excellent.

  • love it

  • los esqueletos son maricas xDD

  • Thank goodness I read the credits! I kept thinking, "Why does this remind me so much of The Sims." :)

  • my 3 yr son loved this. "i like this movie

  • La danza macabra es de Franz Liszt? No es de Saint-saens?

  • death looked badass walking at 7:32. it shouldve ended MUCH more tranquil like the peace of the grave or something ... macabre. the credits felt like a sweaty movie theater.

  • Thanks for this. Of its kind it's very good and must have taken many hours. If I could make an adverse comment it would be this: How can you allow such excellent music to be followed by such complete rubbish in the music at the end? It completely ruins the atmosphere built up by the video. Sorry to complain.

  • @Offshoreorganbuilder I have to agree. A very, very fine performance of The "dance" was selected for this excellent video. The credits music was jarring and extremely unpleasant.

  • Nooooo! Don't do that (@ 7:50). Putting up some damned "popular" tune

  • mass anorexia

  • They're doing the macarena....that's how long they've all been dead for. LOL

  • El profeesor dee musicaa nos dijo a mis compañeritos buena onda & a mi que la vieeramos.. aun no se porque pero mañana en clase lo sabre.. si me ggusto el videeo :]

  • Wonderful!!!

  • Those skeletons dance sort of funny hehe xD, but i like it a lot!!! =) Nice work

  • i remember this in music class when i was little and still remember it till this day as an adult

  • The animation reminds me of the Sims 2 :D

  • This should be viewed and liked like a million times.

  • yes... the gay macabre dance of the skeletons is amazing hahahaha xD

  • Donde están los pompones!!... en serio no captaste la idea de "macabra", te recomiendo que estudies el argumento de una pieza musical antes de hacer su animación.

  • due good job

  • This is amazing work!

  • Are they dancing to bad romance? or thriller? lol, just noticed the odd dance moves. . .

  • hahahahahaha!!

I love this, but the skeletons are kinda dancing like pansies lol

  • amazing mods

  • I really like this, I just wish his violin playing was more realistic to the actual notes in the song.

  • Damnit! Needs a like button!!!

  • @BraDRoBBo Thank you brad! I disabled the like button because I was having a problem with a troll coming trough and disliking my videos. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you "LIKED" it!

  • @hshawn00 Pity that, for it's a very good work.

  • @hshawn00 yw =D!

  • @hshawn00 even the most brilliant vids get dislikes every now and then. Just leave it to the community to drown that idiots and enable the like-button again. When you react to trolls in a way that annoys people, it means they win.

  • I hate the Sims...but this is awesome.

  • I discovered danse macbre and think the bbc orchestra would play it well x

  • I love, I love!! Is the best!!!

  • its amazing! how do you make it? its just 1 word: wow...

  • I liked it overall, but I thought the synchronized skeleton dance was a little silly.

  • I LOVE how true to the poem you keep with this movie, as well as making it fit with the song too. Great job :D

  • great job! It's 1080p! It helps me understand "The Graveyard Book" 's chapter 5 now

  • i love this composition! when i learn to play he violin i will do everything to get to play this! by the way dj max remixed this song it also nice. they called it D2.

    for dance of death

  • I've never felt the desire for a 'love' button this strongly before

  • @SacredXFactor Thank you so much!

  • man, you re good

  • @MrZidane12345 Thanks!

  • @hshawn00

    you re welcome
